Turns out a friend of mine has been wanting to get a group together for Mouse Guard. Two people for it so far. Difficult game to get people to play for some reason. Just need, like, three more though.
I'd be willing to do Mouse Guard. Never heard of it before though. But I'll do it.
starting a new character for my friends and I in a new campaign I am playing a runepriest with a halberd that shoves people around and generally just makes the DM angry by making our group unkillable and the enemies useless. It's going to be hilarious

Next Pathfinder session will feature a magnificent wizard empowered by an evil artifact who specializes in using Telekinesis to throw multiple throwing knives in various spectacular arrays. I really hope my party is ready.

It's a local group thing.
Is anyone in a Pathfinder group around +2 GMT time that I could join? Hjortkayre had to call to cancel ours, because he's going to have some 'family business' things to do. Among other players also having some trouble. Gonna try to get some of my female friends introduced to table-top RPG's by doing that simple d6 thing that someone posted in this thread - does anyone have some good intro-scenarios, that will really get them hooked?
Seriously I'd really like to play Pathfinder. Or maybe even give Shadowrun a try.
I'm not sure how long the Shadowrun game I'm in is going to last because of people not being around when it's time to play, if it falls through I might have a go at GMing a game of it, I like the setting. Or I might pull an Elowin and completely ad-hoc a PF game.
Or I might pull an Elowin and completely ad-hoc a PF game.
You totally should, for bonus points pull a generic fantasy world out of your nether regions and don't ever provide any real backstory for it. I'd play it.
No "plot" or "setting" or, god forbid, "continuity" between us and FUN

Except a lot more darkness, levitation, and showmanship. [editline]5th September 2012[/editline] Also, what does everyone think about GURPS? Looking through the books (both Lite and otherwise), it seems like a sort of "Perfect System", being able to go with nearly every setting. Am I correct in this thinking, or are there significant downsides?

Hoping someone around here will run a GURPS Supers game or something...
I was told about GURPS by my brother and he let me look through his digital copies, it seems really cool. the sheer level of things you can do to customize your character is astounding but better than that much of it emphasizes role-play over min-maxing, which i usually fall prey to (i like role-playing but i dislike feeling useless more)

[editline]6th September 2012[/editline] And just failing horribly at everything is pretty damn fun too, especially if your horribleness can somehow fuck over the rest of the party too, like the jinxed trait in Fallout.

Still kind of... Searching here.
Only D&D emphasizes min-maxing
the only other pnp thing i have played in real life has been DnD so i guess that is why it seems so cool to me
I last played D&D back in 2007 (we didn't use miniatures or anything like that, just pen and paper), and my dad, sister and I are planning on reviving a campaign we last played when I was in 8th grade (as a point of comparison, I am now a Freshman in college who still lives with his parents). Wish us luck!
Also looking for Shadowrun. I want to go as the Mage similar to Rubick (but probably a bit more insane) and make my own spells (if my ideas won't be terrible). Or I don't know, a tanky-type character who uses a shot-gun and modifies it given a chance. Maybe even build a piece of armor for my whole arm, that has something like a rocket-pack on my elbow, giving me a much stronger punching power with it.
An update on D&D with my family, we have almost finished updating the character sheets from the old paper to the new paper for various reasons (one of my dad's characters was missing and he had to remake him, my sister's characters were covered with bad drawings from 5 years ago, a cat puked on one of mine, etc...). We will probably resume the campaign next week.
Our group has officially dropped Shadowrun. No one in the group could keep up with the rules, and everyone finally agreed that they didn't want to play it. No one was even having fun with it. I was thinking GURPS with a cyberpunk book, but it depends on how complicated the rules are right now, which I am figuring out right now.
So my friends and I have been playing D&D. I put in the investment and bought the DM guide, Player's Handbook, and Monster Manual for 4th edition. We're doing one of the premade campaign from Wizard's website, and we're having a lot of fun. I'm already seeing some drawbacks of the 4th edition character sheet compared to 3.5's, but yeah. I'm trying to figure out how to put together my own campaign (as I'm DMing), and I was wondering if anyone's done extensive work on their own campaign before. Dropping me a PM or a message on Steam would be fantastic.
