Never really got into the multiplayer aspect of the NWN series. I had some fun playing with friends, but in the end playing NWN and dealing with all its limitations just made everyone want to play real D&D so that's what we'd go do instead. [editline]29th September 2012[/editline] The NWN1 map creator was amazing though and I really wish modern games had things like that; simple to use and quickly makes decent shit. A trait most modern map creators do not have I've come to find.
I just like Co-opping it through the campaigns. Hell that's what I want in every game, coop
My friends and I tend to do what I call pseudo-co-op when we can't legitimately play with each other. Which is we simply get in Skype or some other similar thing and play the game at the same time from the same point. No one does any of that waiting shit though, we just make it a point to start out in the same place in the game at the same time. We all tend to play in a similar fashion so we usually end up moving along at the same pace and going to the same places (in the case of open world games). It's become a matter of course and is something we naturally do nowadays, I can't remember the last game we played truly alone. Gotta make do with what ya got without real co-op I say. Getting a little off-topic here, to get back on track: I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I find it easier to create new classes in PCGen than Hero Lab. I feel dirty.
I see my friends playing it on Steam a lot and I'm saddened by it not being around anymore. If worst comes to worse I'll just order Platinum off of Amazon and wait the week to get it, the multiplayer just seems too good to pass up
NWN2 is really not very good for multiplayer, atleast not compared to the original. But you should get it anyway, Mask of the Betrayer is amazing.
So I decided to play Darkspawn Chronicles just for the hell of it i never thought a simple "lol what if all the main characters sucked and you were a badguy" expansion pack would be so cool. Killing the main party was so satisfying, figured out I could just spam heals on the Archdemon and he just flew around eating people.
By multiplayer I mean "oh man my friend has platinum too, what if we buddied our way through the campaigns?
I haven't played Storm of Zehir much, but from what i've heard that one campaign is pretty much made for multiplayer, the original campaign and Mask of the Betrayer are both pretty bad for multiplayer though.

Does anyone have a Dark Heresy game going on? You guessed it, I would like to join it.
I would be up for anything but I am a total noob, also is there a way to play online?
Me and 2 friends are planning to start a Runequest game. We're not entirely sure how it'll be yet, but I can tell you that - It's probably doing to be in a somewhat dark/grimdark environment, and the player party will be morally questionable - The setting will be on a frontier town on a huge kingdom that's a bureaucratic nightmare, and corruption is rampant. - Magic is quite common, but magic crystals which provide powerful boons are like a legal drug in that frontier town. Hunting for them can be profitable. The game is thus probably going to be about surviving in that city and seeing what works best. It also allows us to go in different directions plot-wise We're with 1 GM and 2 players right now, and think we could use about 2-4 more players. We'll use skype voice chat while playing and will probably play in the weekends. Preferably European players are sought for, because timezones are a bitch. Also it's going to be moderately serious. We don't expect 100% roleplaying, but don't munchkin and don't be an idiot. Just... Play it cool. We don't really care whether you're a veteran or total newbie, as long as you're nice to play with. It'll be my first game, too, so that's that :v:

Well last night's session was exiting. We constructed a pedal-powered Dragoon in a scrap yard in Tulsa, then blew up a barracks and killed 12 guards in the explosion to steal a small plane. No one had a high enough pilot to fly the plane safely though, so we made a break for it as soon as we had the plane hooked up to the Dragoon. It was a bit over the top, but whatever.
So I got to DM my first campaign about a week ago. I decided to go simple, yet horrendously complicated. Basic classes, starting level of 1. The Dungeon? Motherfucking Undermountain! The first session was pretty pretty hilarious. Some highlights: Gnome Bard almost gets eaten by a Mimic Paladin almost gets pulled in to a diseased pool full of Ghouls Rogue jacks up a search attempt so badly he sets off the trap, poisoning the whole group Acid-spraying monster nearly kills the whole group Cleric activates a trap, taking an iron post to the face Rogue mouths-off to a Behir, getting crushed against a wall and knocked unconscious. I'll be doing another session this Friday. Hopefully it goes just as well. :v:
A group of first levelers in fucking undermountain? That's crazy, how aren't they all dead yet?
played my first in-person game of 4e today, it was super fun only a one-shot for now while we sorted out who was joining the group etc but the highlights included: - our dwarf rogue going DWARF TIME and pulling out a warhammer and owning the faces off of everything (with a little assistance from me with Furious Smash) - me, as a half-elf warlord, doing some clutch heals that pulled our asses out the fire - we entered a trapped area with coffins. me and the dwarf had initiative, so he ran in, leapt on top of a coffin, yelled DWARF TIME and scored a critical hit on a kobold with his sling. i followed him in, leapt on top of the same coffin and threw an axe which also scored a crit to finish it off. then we high fived and yelled RADICAL and air guitared for an intimidate check (which succeded) - near the end of the same combat, guessing exactly where the deadly trap was, leaping down and using Tide of Iron to shove the remaining kobold right onto it for the kill unfortunately i had to leave early but this campaign is going to Own Bones
Oh man, Runequest. My friend's dad's group had that as their system of choice, I've only ever played a single game in it. Also my ST from that exalted game posted some thoughts about the game. Though, he didn't mention my character. Humph.
NWN2 is really not very good for multiplayer, atleast not compared to the original. They don't work worth a damn compared to the original in my opinion.
A group of first levelers in fucking undermountain? That's crazy, how aren't they all dead yet?
I'm using a combination of the Expedition to Undermountain book (lvls 1-10) and preset encounters on the WotC site. Everything else is just made up as I go. I've got a system set up that keeps them within a defined area until they collect certain items/complete certain mini-quests. The group: Gnome Bard Half-Orc Cleric Elf Rogue Human Wizard Human Paladin I've actually had to make events harder because they're doing so well. At lvl 2 they beat a CR4 monster. That's not ok, so I gotta' revamp a few things.
Pfft, that's nothing, my old party killed a beholder at 5th level. While half of them were naked.
I've actually had to make events harder because they're doing so well. At lvl 2 they beat a CR4 monster. They're just supposed to be challenging or boss encounters for the party.
The campaigns seem to be much better than the original but I really dislike the camera controls. My group ( level 16, 6 players. ) suffered four casualties against a pair of CR 10's. My group is comprised of idiots. I clean up afterwards.
sacrifice them all to your god of choosing, ascend to lichhood before their very eyes
My group ( level 16, 6 players. ) suffered four casualties against a pair of CR 10's. My group is comprised of idiots. That was including a white dragon that we weren't even supposed to kill. After a certain point it was supposed to flee and we managed to pin it down so it couldn't escape. We got a full level for that one.
I'd be up for the Runequest game, what'll we play over, like do you need my SF, Skype?
I'd be up for Runequest too
I misread one of those posts as Runscape and was very confused.
I misread one of those posts as Runscape and was very confused.
The thrilling adventure of chopping wood and fletching arrows. Level 8 recommended.
The thrilling adventure of chopping wood and fletching arrows. Level 8 recommended.
Naw man, we can't fletch arrows, you gotta buy some dumb splatbook for that.
