Tell me about it. (not being sarcastic, I want to know)
Well, let's see. The Troubleshooters had to investigate what commie mutant treachery causes all the toilets to be clogged. Instead, as soon as they went down to the sewers, the hygiene officer attempted homicide on the team leader with a polished ladder step, the happiness officer almost murdered half the team with retroviruses hidden in the mandatory happiness pills and was consequently beaten to a pulp. Afterwards, some buying of illegal weapons, deadly mop fights, vandalizing of various facilities and a thorough case of getting lost went down. Finally, and quite inexplicably, they all ended up on a raft going towards a waterfall of shit.
Two of them made it out before the waterfall claimed the rest with the raft. Those two then happened upon an overzealous cleaning robot, and tried to convince it to clean the other. Finally, one of them got a face full of soapy water, and fell back in the waterfall, but not before futilely firing his counterfeit rifle at the other...
The following nuclear explosion wrecked the entire sewer system of Alpha Complex, and left a smouldering 200x200 meter ball of nothing behind.
Then, once their clones were back at HQ, they proceeded to determine who was at fault for this failure with a disco dance-off facilitated by a top secret experimental device they were lugging around the whole time.
So I'm totally new to the whole D&D experience, having utterly fallen in love with the Planescape setting through Torment in a way I never really did with any Forgotten Realms games.
Is there any way to incorporate Planescape adventures into 3.5 or 4th ed.? Apparently there have been fan attempts to update the settings for later rules, but I'm wondering how practical these attempts are?

Add tahhex on skype aswell.
Kobolds goring casters with a double 20 roll. Gotta love DnD.

Everything gores casters.
One of my casters actually only had 1 hit point.
It was an unique experience, to say the least.
I spent half the game unconcious.
That feel when your DnD group is now spread apart by hundreds of kilometres and we're all too busy to play anyway.

This is why most games are played over the internet these days.
To be frank, you're pretty damn lucky to have been able to find a DnD group to join in the first place.
I should eventually try to DM for the group of people that wanted to play with me
might be more inclined to do so if there was a 1st level adventure for 4e that wasn't bland

Try making up your own.

you could always look at old modules for 3e or whatever and convert them over

I don't know if you are familiar with the Eberron Campaign Setting, but Seekers of the Ashen Crown is pretty good to introducing players to the Eberron setting. Alternatively, if you want to explore an exotic, very unconventional setting, try Dark Sun's Vault of Darom Madar. Standard treasure hunt, I know, but it's in one of the most awesome settings in all of D&D :>

Implying all adventures aren't treasure hunts disguised as acts of common good.
So on Saturday, we once again played a D&D adventure. This time, we were supposed to go after a werewolf that was killing multiple people and all that stuff. So we're saying "alright, it's just a werewolf, we've killed plenty of those things", but that's when we get hit with more info.
The only man to survive the attack against this thing kindly informs us that regular weapons (including silver) won't affect it. To make matters worse, the village leader's son was captured by this thing for some reason, and he wants us to go rescue his son.
So we set out, thinking "hahahaha, good thing we have these magical weapons, but FUCK FUCK FUCK super werewolf", and we finally get to the beasty's lair. We find the kid who is still alive (but has clearly soiled his armor), and my Dark Elf proceeds to scare him even more by speaking Undercommon to him (Chaotic Neutral FTW). As we are on our way out, we suddenly get hit by a wave of despair, and we are attacked by the beasty. However, as we are shitting ourselves, thinking "nooooo super lycanthrope gonna infect us AGAIN", one of the characters realizes something.
"That's no werewolf! That's just a greater barghest!"
Breathing a collective sigh of relief and using Mr. Soils-himself as a meat-shield, we proceed to slay the beast and get the brat to safety. Mission accomplished!
...and that's how we got to level 8. :v:

That is a very fun adventure that I ran with my players. Although I feel like I could have worked it into our story better, rather than saying, "Oh, you trek 200 miles to the desert. For no reason. Oh look an adventure."
Got the next session of my Undermountain campaign this Friday!
Highlights will include:
Darkness-covered pit complete with Beholderkin eye swarm
Choker colony
Illusory well (permanent image of water hiding 40ft fall)
And that's just a small taste.
So no one knows anyone running a Shadowrun or WH40k game? Damn.

I'm in a Shadowrun game right now but I don't know if it's taking new players, and we also haven't played in two weeks now.
I'm getting a group of friends together to play DnD 3.5, but the catch is that I'm paying for everything & since this will be my first DnD game, I'm not 100% sure what we'll need.
So could you guys help me get together a shopping list?
This is what I've got so far:
Dungeon masters guide £28
Monster Manual £28
Player's handbook £28 x4
Dice £1.95
total = £170
Is there anything else we need? Bear in mind I only looking for the essentials, so things maps & models, I'm not that bothered about
Character sheets, although you can just print those off.
I recommend these.
Oh, and scratch paper with pencils. But you should already have those.
Mistakes my current DnD group has made as characters:
Someone put on a belt of Gender Change, despite me rolling at least a 24 on a Spellcraft and thinking it was a Belt of Giant's Strength.
I put on a ring that I had no idea what it did. At some point in our previous dungeon, it paralyzed me for 20 minutes.
Our BARD (of all things) is now cursed by a Rubber Chicken that silences his spells. He also looked at a book with a hand on it and was mesmerized by it.
We have no Cleric, yet we manage to survive all of this through sheer willpower. Shit is weird and I love it.
So I'm looking for a Pathfinder game, I'm up for Fridays and weekends, I'm in a +2 GMT time-zone.
That's... About it. My Shadowrun group ran into problems like bad players not coming on time and GM busy all the time with work.
anyone have any spell suggestions for a lazy ass greedy wizard?
Prestidigitation*
[SUB]*this applies to all spellcasters[/SUB]

I would also be willing to play pathfinder if theres any groups forming.

If you want to save money, you could try playing Pathfinder that is very similar to 3.5. It shares most of the mechanics, only changing a few (for the better imo) and changing the class balance a bit. All of PF is available free at http://www.d20pfsrd.com/.
So Mutants and Masterminds was a really good idea. None of us have ever played a tabletop game before, so everyone's a fucking idiot and it's great.
One of the PC's is a hero with 7 arms, who has a flying motorcycle that he can control with his mind, that also has 7 arms. Another hero has a move called "Granddads deep pockets" that he used to kidnap a badguy as collateral.
We've played one session so far, and the bodycount is already around 60-70. I lost count.

Umm, everything deal non-lethal damage in M&M unless you say otherwise when attacking or GM house rules.
And oh dear 90's Anti-heroes D:

This is one of those red flags in groups that shows the DM is a complete skeeve.
