No, I can play any game, excluding FATAL and Ironclaw.
But this thread is descending into That Guy Incorperated.
Whether something is That Guy behaviour or not is mostly dependent on the person doing it, and how they do it.
Let's face it, there's nothing in this world anymore that isn't someone's freaky fetish. Freaking out over everything weird because it's obviously the player being a That Guy just makes you bitter.
I'm doing a pathfinder game (similar to 3.5) with a few other FPers get at me on steam and we'll get shit sorted. Pretty sure we're all in the US and typically start around 6 or 7 EST (-5). Although we play sporadically as some of us have work/class and shit.
Also I'm game just give me a website for creating a character and invite me into the group or whatever on steam.
So, does anyone have experience with GURPS?
So, does anyone have experience with GURPS?
None, but I too am interested in GURPS, from what I've heard the rules usually need some tweaking to the tone and style of game you want to play and that mostly what the billions and billions of extra books are. That and expansion of rules from the core books.
Would also be interested in GURPS. But then again I'd probably play any P&P.
I'm putting some finishing touches on my edit of CodeMonkey3's STALKER RPG System, and it'd be nice if, under the condition that I won't have enough guys to test it out, some of you hop in for a test campaign.
I played Pathfinder last night with a group of four friends. We had one encounter. Between all of us (a human monk, a half-elf wizard/barbarian, my dwarven cleric, and a half-orc witch with an octopus familiar) we managed to deal a grand total of 22 damage between the four of us. We fought three sea scorpions with 11 hp each. 7 damage was dealt to one, the rest to the other. The rest of the damage in the entire fight was either dealt by our wizard/barbarian to himself by critical missing, seriously muffing up a roll, or the octopus familiar which dealt more damage by itself than the rest of us combined. (And took out two of the sea scorpions, one entirely by itself.)
Our monk didn't manage to accomplish anything during the entire encounter. Our witch managed to get off a -2ac hex on the one sea scorpion his familiar didn't solo, I dealt 8 damage to the one the familiar didn't solo, and our wizard/barbarian managed to deal 14 damage between two of them while critical fumbling and slashing his own leg and kicking a crate down a slope, trying to jump on the crate while it was moving (he failed), and then managing to shoot the crate instead of his intended target because his previously failed rolls.
It was only a two hour long session (and our group is stupidly easy to derail because our monk is obnoxiously loud and never shuts up no matter what) but it was an uh... Interesting... Session.
I'd be up for GURPS in a nice setting.
Played Only War with a bunch of friends last weekend. The highlight of the session was a firefight between an enemy ogryn and our stormtrooper. By firefight I mean they stood three meters apart shooting at each other full auto for about forty seconds until the ogryn died. The stormtrooper pretty much shrugged away whatever damage the ogryn's automatic shotgun could do through his armor.

HEY.
Anyone want to DM for about 5-6 players in a pathfinder game? We're all situated, just need a DM willing to do games for us. ALSO, we're occasionally missing one, but none of us mind continuing. Proficient with google docs AND roll20.net :D!
We now have a ranger without a hand, who uses bows. SOmething tells me taking the combat style feat in archery was a bad idea.
Time for my useless (4e) story that no one cares about:
So my friends and I are doing a rotating GM design. I feel bad for him because we ended up cutting his campaign short before he could introduce his character and properly hand it over to the next GM. Not that it wasn't hilarious how it happened.
I did a move to swap me and an enemy hobgoblin since we were all standing on the edge of a rather long fall. I tried to kick the hobgoblin but every time I just missed the roll and ended up kicking dust. So our Paladin, realizing my plan and that he has a higher STR mod, grabbed him by the arm and flung him off the edge. Our DM rolled for the hobgoblin to retaliate and was going to say that the hobgoblin went flying on anything less than a 20. It rolled a 20 and grabbed the Paladin and pulled him off too.
Our Warlock got the chance to roll to see if he had the reflexes to catch them in time, and he passed, but just enough that he grabbed the paladins leg and lost his own footing. The GM made the NPC traveling with us use his god-mode powers to grab the three-person combo and hold them there. My turn rolled about again and I jumped off the cliff to stomp on the hobgoblin's face. I managed that, and when he let go I grabbed the Paladin (I figured my scrawny character at least weighs less than the hobgoblin so the NPC should have an easier time bringing us up). Then our cleric got surrounded by the other 2 hobgoblins and, not in the mood for our party's shit, they both threw her off the edge. She managed to grab my other hand, but the momentum made the NPC trip and tumble with us.
Shit pretty much hit the fan right there, so the GM made the NPC summon a portal-to-somewhere and then ended the session to let the GM of the next campaign create the area it goes to. At that point we were all happy for a deus ex machina of any kind, though. Having both a GM and other players that take a lot of creative ideas and actually put them to use is pretty fun.
Huzzah, the thread is back! Thought it was dead for a few days...
My friends and I are getting back into 4e; I'm actually working on a campaign right now for us. I even got Dundjinni to create maps and such for Roll20.

I'd do it but I don't know how to Pathfinder.
I'd do it but I don't know how to Pathfinder.
It's basically the same as D&D 3.5e, not hard to pick up.

The same way you Mutants & Masterminds :v

please no
That was terrible and i'm never touching that game again.
Also i've never used Roll20 before but from what I hear it's pretty simple compared to most mapping software so it shouldn't be too large of a problem.

I'm never going to let you forget. Ever.
I had an idea that I felt like throwing at this thread. I was listening to a podcast where they interviewed the creator of Dwarf Fortress, and this game-thing called How to Host a Dungeon came up. I thought it was a really intriguing idea.
For those who don't feel like clicking the link, it's basically a kind of pen & paper "game" for creating randomly-generated dungeon maps with a more realistic history. Although I can only see the free version on the site, it still seems a bit limited to me. I thought it would be fun to create my own sort of random world/dungeon creator, but factoring in a lot more than How to Host a Dungeon does. Like maybe entire randomly-generated continents, civilizations of all kinds of different races, many ways for dungeons to pop up and develop, etc.
Has anyone else ever undertaken such a project? If there happens to be an even more complex version of How to Host a Dungeon, I'd be really happy to see it.
I tempted fate by using my crossbow as improvised melee one too many times.
It broke.

Just make a five foot step backwards and then shoot.
Even better if you got point blank shot, which you should if you're playing a ranged kind of character.
I've recently started playing this with a group in my hometown. It's pretty awesome only level 2 at the moment though.

I imagine that wouldn't be too difficult to create, just take an overly long amount of time to write everything needed for the highest amount of variation.
The only easy to use random generators that covers most of the bases I can think of is donjon's, which I've used quite often for brainstorming ideas and gathering foundations. And the dungeon generator, which I've yet to find a better randomly generated one.

I was standing in the doorway of a tavern with 2 goblins inside the tavern diagonally to me, and I was low on health. I was going to attack and then shut the door and bolt around into an alleyway to lose them.
Either way I learned that the barkeep has a crossbow so I'm thinking of stealing that from him.
in my pathfinder group, we have a goblin barbarian that does 1d8+10 damage with his bite at level 2. he literally eats his enemies. in the last session we were fighting assassin vines, and he chewed into them and killed them from the inside. it's scary to think about.
What's the best race for an unarmed class anyway? Like knocking people out and shit like that
