Unless you know how to set your NAT type to open on GFWL, it's about as bad on both [editline]17th February 2013[/editline] besides you can't say that Dark Souls isn't repetitive with a straight face seeing how you will be dying and retrying every level over and over again
Maybe you should try not dying and instead try taking it slow. Think about what you do, rushing in like an idiot will get you killed every time.
thats not bad game design thats you being bad at the game

Maybe you should try not dying and instead try taking it slow. not if you're good even on your first playthrough you should be able to avoid dying all the time by the time you have the lordvessel
not if you're good even on your first playthrough you should be able to avoid dying all the time by the time you have the lordvessel
Nobody who starts the game is good at it instantly unless they've played Demon's Souls
Nobody who starts the game is good at it instantly unless they've played Demon's Souls
i never even heard of demons souls and i didnt have much of a problem with the game face it, your just the second adventurer in that comic
i never even heard of demons souls and i didnt have much of a problem with the game face it, your just the second adventurer in that comic
I think you're mistaking me for someone new to Dark Souls, I have 200-300 hours played on the PS3 since it's release and 128 hours on PC, I'm just saying that when you start playing Dark Souls you will be seeing a lot of repetition for your mistakes. You can't deny that.
What made you guys play this game? I saw Northernlion's Lets play of it and thought it looked neat.
If you keep making the same mistake, how is that not your fault?
I never said it wasn't your fault.
I never said it wasn't your fault.
Then how is the game repetitive? If you keep dying, it's almost always your own fault.
What made you guys play this game? I saw Northernlion's Lets play of it and thought it looked neat.
wanted a challenging game for once
Then how is the game repetitive? If you keep dying, it's almost always your own fault.
Even if it is the player's fault, it makes the game repetitive because every enemy can murder you brutally at any point during your progression to the next bonfire. New players who aren't yet accustomed to the controls do a lot of stupid mistakes at parts which seem "obvious" to advanced players, and don't know how to spend their points / deal with more than 1 enemy at once.
Some parts of the game are pretty repetitive, bed of chaos and the silver knight archers for example. It's still a fantastic game though and even for those two once you've got the technique down you won't be dying to them very often in future playthroughs.

You think the game is repetitive because you keep making mistakes. Because you aren't being careful. You're going to do a lot the first time you play because you need to learn how the game works. You can't just run through everything the first time. Learning from your mistakes is a good thing, not bad. Now THAT is repetitive.

New players are going to make a lot of mistakes even if they try to avoid them, therefor making the game repetitive. [editline]17th February 2013[/editline] I'm not saying this is a bad thing, by the way.

What I meant when I said that Skyrim was repetative is that every single sidequest is the same. "HEY I LOST SOMETHING IN A CAVE OH BTW ITS FULL OF DRAUGR LAWL"
I personally fucking loved playing through Dark Souls for the first time. Dying to something and getting stuck at that part until I learned how to deal with the situation and coming out as a winner in the end. Even though it's repetition, you've got to think of it as a challenge.

Time to kill Gwyn with only +5 weapons and armor. [editline]17th February 2013[/editline] Just kidding I'm restarting for the third fucking time this week. [editline]17th February 2013[/editline] Actually no fuck it we gun beat the game with +5 Demon Greataxe.
Talk to Oswald in the church and get absolution.
Andre will still be dead so that wouldn't change anything
A lot a people seem to be accidentally killing Andre recently. So much so that I have decided to write a little guide on how not to kill Andre. Ready? Janus Vesta's Guide to not killing Andre of Astora (the blacksmith) Step 1) Don't kill Andre.
0/10 did not prevent me from killing Andre would not recommend.
