I just killed Havel possibly the pussiest way possible... Zweihander through the door. I'm not proud of it, but atleast I got the ring
Why didn't you just parry him. You can do it at SL1 if you wanted.
I suck at parrying(or I just don't want to risk eating dirt), so I'd prefer to either cheese Havel through the door, or just fish for backstabs.
You are the worst kind of person.
I mean, fishing for backstabs against an NPC?

Well I actually didn't even try to fight him fair. I just found the door by accident and decided to get rid of him the easy way.
Also, I've been playing only for a couple of days so my parrying skills aren't that great yet and I knew he would one shot me. (Actually died a couple time when he hit me through the door.)
i'm pretty sure manus is completely goddamn insane and grabbed you because you were within grabbing distance and tried to kill you because he's completely goddamn insane.
Protip: Parry when their hand/arm is about to hit you.

Speaking of that, let's discuss Manus.
Do you guys think that he was once the furtive pygmy?

Don't feel too bad, I usually kill him by being a bloody coward and showering him with dung pies while keeping him at the top of the tower.
What is wrong with you people.
Jut parry parry and more parry. It's just like Gwyn.

I have no soul, but neither do they. I have my own system of honor, and NPCs are beneath me and not deserving of the same respect I give other players.
At least I don't use black magic, am I right? :v:
I didn't even parry Gwyn, I just tanked his hits and staggered him to death.
why ain't none of y'all niggas be jivin' bout dat lore

I find it unlikely that he would be someone entirely new when there's a character that fits already. After all, Chester did say that they upturned the grave of primeval man, and that does sound like a description of the pygmy.

Theres also the grave in Manus' boss room.
Perhaps it was the action of splitting the dark soul into humanity that made him go batshit crazy

you find a human-shaped grave in his fight arena, chester speaks of how they brought the abyss upon themselves due to digging some mofo up, and he is the primordial beast, which means he became before man so HE'S PROBS the pygmy

he didn't say "THE primeval man"
and chester isn't exactly the most reliable source
but yes, I believe that he is the pygmy gone sour
I hate how chameleon counts as a self-buff. I want to cast it after fights but I can't because my green blossoms are still active :v:
Then don't use green blossom like a real man no buff.

YEA REAL MEN WEAR PINWHEEL MASKS
DUEL WHEELD BONEWHEEL SHIELD
So I had to take a break because of school work, but now that's over. SL1 NG+5 done!

So, I'm thinking when I get to NG+7 I'll record all of the boss fights. Is that something people would want to see?

Please do. I've never gotten past NG++ and I'd love to see some of the bosses at their strongest.

i agree, and i think the dark soul was the source of the abyss and dark magic as well.
if manus wasn't the pygmy, then there'd be a lot of parallel explanations which would determine the pygmy to be someone who may as well have been manus, but is another guy altogether
by that i mean, if he wasn't the pygmy, then the dark soul was found by someone else, another primeval man, but who wasn't the primeval man dug up in oolacile, and didn't cause the dark magic abyss to spread over oolacile, despite it looking very much like it could be dark soul power
meanwhile manus would be another guy altogether, also a primeval man, who never encountered the dark soul, but was unearthed at oolacile along with the abyss, and was transformed by an unknown power into a monster, and happens to be an embodiment of darkness and dark magic
from software built the character of manus, and he fits very neatly into a hole which is otherwise unfilled. another character could be revealed to be the pygmy, but with everything so self-contained in the game, why invent another person if you have a character who already fits so well?
[editline]Edited:[/editline]
it's like if you have a silimituse color wheel of characters, where you've defined all the colors you're going to use in your work. you need to fill this one space somewhere, and there's this dark purple you haven't used yet. so why mix up another color to fill the space?

I really would like to see videos about it. I am currently doing a semi sl1 run. I am currently sl4 and just killed o&s.
Reinforced club simply is too stronk.
-woah whoops that was the wrong button-
I think it just implies all the giants and gods die out and it's only man.
edit:
Not really a "bad" ending unless you're a giant/god.
Linking the fire, I'd think, would be the bad ending, since it'd keep all the hollows alive. Eventually they'd leave Lordran and fuck shit up.
The idea is that Gwyn sacrificed himself to link the fire, but in return, scared off all the gods. The idea
of you linking the fire is that you defeat Gwyn, and give the gods a chance to help fix the shit that's gone down.
It also gives humanity another chance at re-building rather than just puttering about like the Crestfallen Warrior.

The age of fire was basically the Age of Man. In the Age of Ancients, humans had to fight for survival against dragons n shit.
What would the Age of Dark be? Personally, I think it'd be something worse than the age of ancients. What with the serpents running the place and the abyss spreading like no one's business, the world would cease to exist after a few thousand years.
The age of fire just prolongs what has been going on for the past couple thousand years, I don't get what's so hard to understand about that. One day the flames will fade, and only dark will remain.
There is no good ending in dark souls, guys. Same how Demon's Souls is a game based around greed, and you're basically cutting the world off from prosperity by [sp]lulling the old one back to slumber[/sp]
The Age of Fire was the age of the giants, the Age of Dark is the age of man [sp]considering darkness and humanity are literally the same thing.[/sp]

emarrel has videos of doing the bosses in NG+7 SL1 if you want to see them
Holy fuck did they beef up Artorias or something? I beat that motherfucker on my first couple tries with a level 30 character but now I'm on attempt 50+ with like a level 36.
Wat.
