I didn't quite enjoy the Sanctuary Guardian quite as much as I enjoyed fighting Artorias. I found the Sanctuary Guardian to be a lot more tedious than fun.
Artorias is definitely my favorite fight in the game
How on earth do I play this game? I enjoy it but I'm always so confused as to where to go, what items I should be using, how I should build my character, what to do next.... I just killed the moonlight butterfly, so I go to the catacombs after getting a divine weapon next? I'm pyromancer, what should I focus on for that class stat-wise?
you can build your character however you want. when you picked Pyromancer you really only picked what equipment and stats you start off with. there's no limitations or actual "classes" don't level resistance, because it doesn't help. leveling vitality and endurance is always a good idea, and whether you level Strength or Dexterity depends on the kinds of weapons you want to use. you can see if a weapon scales better (adds more bonus damage) off of a higher strength level or dexterity level by looking at the weapon's stat page, and seeing how good the letter rank is for those stats if you want to figure out where to go, talk to NPCs and pay attention to what they say, and also read the item descriptions for whatever keys you find, because they usually say what door they open
That's what I was getting at, thanks. I know all classes can be molded but I don't really know where to put my stats. I've already poured a good bit into Dexterity. I prefer being able to run and dodge to the fatty roll. What kinds of weapons rely on strength/dexterity? I'm using the Uchigatana and Bandit's Knife right now. Are they worth scaling?
the katana and daggers and other similarly quick weapons have higher Dexterity scaling, so you're doing that right greatswords tend to have an even split in scaling with Str and Dex hammers are like the opposite of katanas, because hammers only have Strength scaling, while katanas only have Dex scaling (except the washing pole) ultra greatswords, great axes and great hammers are more Strength oriented

there's a bunch of other categories of weapons, those are some of the common ones
Beat the four kings NG+, the only reason I did this was for the red eye orb. Without paying attention I said no to Kaathe and he vanished forever, well played dark souls, well played... So since I really don't have the energy to NG++ what's the second best PVP covenant?
Dorkmoon
That's what I thought, which areas are the best to invade as an SL100, trying to get the Darkmoon blade buff.
Oolacile Township, people almost never kill the boss before invading.
just don't level past 100
Darkmoons invade down, remember?
I know, but the majority of people there are between ~60 and 100 because of the arena brackets. if you invade at 100 you'll get everyone from like 75 to 110.
Won't you still get those if you're over 100? There's no lower limit for Dorkmoons IIRC.
Darkmoons invade down, remember?
They can invade up too but they can also invade down, depending on how many indictments the invaded player has. Anything above 100 is gonna start limiting how many people you can invade because they will need more and more indictements for you to find them.
Ah, I see.
EDIT: oh god lagpunch
Won't you still get those if you're over 100? There's no lower limit for Dorkmoons IIRC.
Yes there is. According to the wiki dorkmoons invade in summon range.
They invade up with normal summon rules but they have a modified invasion chance for levels below them. Darkwraiths have the same formula in reverse. And remember, they're guidelines. Not rules. If the summon range can't be satisfied it'll invade whoever it can find.

A SL100 can't invade and SL20 player just because there isn't anyone else in the area.
The reverse can happen with darkwraiths, though, so presumably it works both ways.
The reverse can happen with darkwraiths, though, so presumably it works both ways.
That assumes that Darkmoons are the exact opposite of darkwraiths. From the wiki: Invading via the Blue Eye Orb has level restrictions, the basic formula is: ( X +/- (10 +/- (10% of X))), where X is your current lvl. This means that, for example, if you're level 50, you can invade people from lvl 35 (50 -15), to lvl 65 (50 +15).
Good point. I can say from experience that darkwraiths have a soft cap but it can be avoided. Never actually made a dorkmoon so I can't speak for that one.
Darkwraiths don't have an upper limit so they can invade any level higher than them but the reverse isn't true for Darkmoons.

Oh right, Sif. Got him :>
You monster
Took me so many tries to kill him that I don't even feel bad about it :v: Whenever he got near me my FPS took a shit because of the fur...
be careful in the ruins. you're squishy, you can't just take the hits and rush through it. you'll die. buy a ton of the things that let you hit ghosts, whatever they're called. go slow and steady. there are a lot of hidden ghosts in the floor and walls and stuff. watch emarrel's video, that'll explain it.
