Use whatever looks cool to you. If an enemy is using it, odds are you can get it one way or another. Pretty much anything is viable in Dark Souls if you have the souls to upgrade it. Try perusing the inventories of Andre, the blacksmith, or the undead merchant in the Upper Burg, they have a good selection of basic weapons.

Certain weapons scale with str while some scale with dex, which means the more dex/str/stat you have the more damage you are going to do with it. Scaling is graded from E to S, your gonna want the highest scaling if you have 30+ of a scaling stat. Try all kinds of weapons to find what kind you enjoy.

Curved Greatswords would be a good example of an inbetween. The Server restores HP with every successful hit, and the Gravelord Greatsword inflicts Toxin with every hit.

Got a summoned phantom message while on a new build in the parish. The phantom was a black phantom that trident buffed the horde of hollows on the second floor and sic'd them on my ass. We play tag for a few minutes; I make a break for the gargoyle doors, he follows me through, and then I get knocked off a ledge by the gargoyles.

endurance, although i'd suggest just wearing less armor

I'm about to end my first playthrough, any advice on how to spend 100.000 souls? I don't want to level up.

buy as many consumables as you can, especially from vendors that are hard to get to early. crestfallen in Sen's and the giant blacksmith, mainly. load up on grass and anything from the sewer merchant. homeward bones are nice. honestly 100k isn't that much, so just buy whatever you think is best. You probably won't even get to 99 of something, so really just don't stress it. as a pyromancer, how do i use non flame spells?

Pyromancer is just the name for the class, and classes really don't mean anything except starting stats and equipment. To use spells you need catalysts, the spell, and appropriate INT (or faith for miracles).

never heard of it but i'll look into it. really i just need to figure out if it's going to be a good purchase. i don't know if i'll make enough stuff or if people will care enough to actually watch it for it to be worth it, you know?

I don't understand the hate towards the Drake Sword. It's a great weapon to use as a beginner until you find a better weapon. If it's because of "hurr durr no skill" or "it makes the beginning too easy" then I can understand, but don't tell others to not use it just because of your opinion on it. Hush up and let them play however they want.
