Pace yourself, I one hand the Demon Greataxe and it's fucking awesome. You just have to know when to attack.
so just keep blocking and wait for an opening? im so used to the rapier and the uchi move set lol
how do you use a 2h greatsword, do you dodge or block or what

the best way to fight with the greatsword is by not locking on
dead angles everywhere
hm
i'll give this another try
i will admit it's REALLY satisfying to swing that zwei around
Decided to start a new character from scratch. Made me realize how much of a veteran I've become when I started running around the Burg. I remember it took me hours to finally defeat that Black Knight in the Burg as well as wasting so much time trying to fight the Taurus Demon.
Killed the taurus, the black knight, and even Havel as a SL10. :v: Game really feels easy when you actually know what you're doing.
Is using a 2h weapon and a shield any good? For an example Zweihander and a shield. I want to be able to block, but still deliver huge blows with one hit. Or should I just use the weapon on both hands or a shield and a one handed weapon?
It's all up to you on what you want to use, that's the cool thing about Dark Souls :v:
anyone know how i can improve my parrying ability? i in theory are doing everything right but it seems to completely ignore it (talking about pvp parrying).
I have backstabbing pretty much down though
Parrying in PvP can be a challenge. Against a faster weapon it's much more difficult since you have to parry at about the same time they attack. Look for patterns in how they attack. Some people might roll and then attack, etc. Slow weapons are easy to parry once you get the timing down. In general, try to parry a bit less than a second ahead of when you normally would to account for latency.
If you're talking about PvP parrying, there is no way to get better except practice due to different weapons and lag.
I upgraded my Zweihander to +5. Man I feel invincible.
Debating getting this on the 360, never really took an interest to it but heard some good things.
Love games with a great atmosphere that allow you to immerse yourself in, love elder scrolls games and wondering if any of you suggest this is worth getting.
360 community is dead, you're better off on the PC

Don't listen to what anyone says.
DARK SOULS IS NOT LIKE SKYRIM
if you were expecting the namby-pamby fantasy from elder scrolls you can forget that; this is like heavy metal fantasy

better off dealing with gfwl, hackers, and summoning failed

What the hell are you talking about? I get invaded/summoned all the time.
I'm not exactly looking for a game identical to any elder scrolls games, but I do enjoy them and from what I've seen this is kind of like a fantasy game so thought there might be similarities.
Think I'll just bite the bullet and buy it, seems worth checking out.

Just because it's a fantasy game doesn't mean they're similar.
I really don't want to get into the DK vs Skyrim argument, but I would definitely check it out.

All I want to say that Skyrims strength was exploration.
NOT the combat. The combat was shallow, unrewarding, and boring.
DkS is the opposite. The combat is so rewarding that you actually feel skillful for killing a tough enemy
but dark souls' combat AND exploration are both rewarding

You think that you don't get summoning failed on consoles
haha

Yea.
OKAY FUCK IT
SKYRIM IS BORING, SHALLOW, UNREWARDING, AND REPETITIVE
DARK SOULS IS THE GODDAMN SHIT

Unless you know how to set your NAT type to open on GFWL, it's about as bad on both
[editline]17th February 2013[/editline]
besides you can't say that Dark Souls isn't repetitive with a straight face seeing how you will be dying and retrying every level over and over again
I tried changing all the enemies into white phantoms and letting people invade. Turns out the changes are purely clientside and the invader just see the normal silver knights running at them slashing widely for no reason doing no damage. Back to the drawing board in order to cause more Anor Londo invader shenanigans.
