I don't like this new art style, looks like a combination of filter rape, bloom and oversaturation.
It doesn't look like the wind waker style, it looks more like a painting.
Otherwise it looks good, can't really tell from only a short trailer and some screenshots.

Moreover, since recent Zelda games have been focusing on things like story and dungeons, this title will focus more on "fun."

I wonder what "fun" means.
[editline]nope[/editline]

Why do the Wii Remote look so weird?
imo i like the painting style, it feels magical. Thats what the whole series is supposed to be about anyway.
The textures of Link and his equipment remind me of TF2.
I like it when objects look like touched by a brush, the oil paint style looks wonderful IMO.
As for the gameplay, the Skyward Sword does the same function as Temple of Time in OoT, just more mobile, so it's pretty gimmicky.
But hey, LoZ is always full of gimmicks, and still every game from the series is absolutely fun to play.
It's a painting for god's sake!
I love it!
So should you and your family.
boring dull brown and dark shooters are dominating the market and E3. Nintendo made a bold statement with this zelda and the new kirby i think.
Nintendo was always different. Bold, if that's what you want to call it.
New Zelda game?

For some reason the enemies look... out of place. Like everything else has depth-of-field applied except the monsters. Or something.

They don't have shadows. Or, their shadows are just way too faint.
I'm hoping that the area shown at E3 was just a demo level, and Aonuma said they weren't done polishing graphics...I'm disappointed because I wanted another dark Zelda game like Twilight Princess. But Zelda is Zelda, I'm buying it.

Yeah, that's it.

The polygon count is much higher on the enemies/link compared to the background. It's basically to draw your attention to the important things.
Also, I wasn't aware that nintendo took bullshots. :v:
The enemies will probably look more natural when you play it on the wii.
I personally can't wait to see more of this. The artstyle is absolutely gorgeous (i loved windwaker, and this style takes me back to LttP, minish cap, etc, with the simpler designs) That said, im a bit iffy about motionplus, i don't fancy buying an extension for just one game, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I like the new style. I like the Wind Waker style, I like the Twilight Princess style. I like this one too. Nintendo is good with style. :v:
I'm gonna get Motion Plus just for this. The trailer looks interesting, and the new swordplay does too.
All the haters be sayin' "link looks gay" but I be sayin' "link does not look gay" and I look at the screenshots and I be all like "awwwright"
I still don't like all this "living in the sky" bullshit, though. :raise:
Link for those not too informed about Skyward Sword. :eng101:

I don't know about the game but this OP is pure poetry.
The pictures don't do the style justice, I for one was not convinced until I saw the gameplay trailer that showed how it would play out. The new style looks great--the TF2 approach to visuals that WindWaker had with the complexity and darkness that you couldn't really get from WindWaker due to its cartoony style. Seeing little miniature cartoon Link in WW stab his sword into Ganon's head was epic, but it would have been more so with a step up in grittyness that it seems Skyward Sword will promise.

Don't worry, you're not missing much - they're for pussies anyway.
the controller works better without a jacket anyway.

it's gay
It'd be better if it wasn't with motion controls
seriously nintendo just realize that motion controls suck

You had to buy an extension to play Majora's Mask.
I think it's going to be a great game. I was worried when Miyamoto said that there would be less focus on the story this time around and more on the gameplay, but I realized that if this is the prequel to Ocarina of Time then story would play an important part anyway and good gameplay will enhance it. Twilight Princess felt a little too story-driven, sometimes like I was watching a controllable movie rather than playing a game, but some of the bosses were rather fun because of the excellent gameplay. The impressionist-style art makes it look rather unique, and I can't wait to preorder it.
Look's great, but I most likely won't be even touching the damn thing thanks to my brother bricking our Wii with all of his modding. Oh well.
I'm honestly getting sick of all the newer Zelda games. They reuse and rehash old ideas from the previous ones to try to make them less obvious. Twilight Princess was a lot more original then the latter games, and so was Phantom Hourglass.
This is just my opinion, but I personally consider Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Oracle of Seasons, and Link's Awakening to be the four greatest Zelda games to be released. :downs:
I like style and idea. It's pretty much a mix of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess without the "dark" bullshit of TP. It seems to have more of the Wind Waker gameplay, however, because it looks more enjoyable to play than TP, which got pretty boring after a while.
you know you can get them off the nintendo website
free
or atleast 2 years ago you could because i got them the day they came out
next day my dog ripped them up
they did not ship them to estonia.
I was hoping for a more grungy, darker zelda.

I just hoped for the same level as TP.
The Zelda series is the only reason the Wii I have hasn't been sold yet.
You had to buy an extension to play Majora's Mask.
yes, but anyone who bought majoras mask also bought donkey kong 64 which came with the extension.
