I don't understand the shift into the Ceph's metabolism. Weren't they a cold-based species in Crysis 1? With how they freezed the entire island and how their HQ was cold as well?
In Crysis 2, the fight was brought home alright, so I'd understand there not need to be any cold (Atmospherics in their suits I'd say).
Crysis 3, Jungle? Did they terraform New York into a jungle for their own sake?
Can someone please explain to me?
Eeee, this game looks kinda shite.
By the looks of it, all you fight is aliens, which is dramatically less fun than fighting humans. The nanosuit and its abilities is obsolete when put up against the aliens, as they are on equal ground as you.
And the plot sounds beyond awful. "Hunt them all down, and take back the city" - lmao. Having to once again win back New York can be compared to having to rewrite an essay after the word-file corrupts as you're writing the last sentence.
As for the graphics (ie. the Crysis-franchise's selling-point), they seem to remain about the same.
When breaking it down it's easy to see why the bow (which looks like a LMG in first person view btw) is being used to market this game- it's basically the only really unique part of this new installment.

Did somebody say EA?
Ehh, not really feeling it for Crysis 3/2.3. Everything looks the same except the environment. I was at least expecting some new animations, models, and some noticeable graphic updates, like most sequels. I wonder why they don't make full use of their sexy engine. Is it because of the consoles not being able to handle its full potential?
I loved the first but Crysis 2 was a bit of a dissapointment due to the failure called multiplayer, also was too linear to be a proper sequel of the first one. I hope they shape up and listen to their fans when they make the third, if they show that they do I'll buy it for sure.
My only hope is that the game is more like crysis 1 than 2.
1 was for PC, controlled like it was for PC
2 was for console, controlled like it was for console
Crysis 1 was open world-ish
Crysis 2 was go here, turn right, jump, turn left, crouch here.
Crysis 1's suit was easy to use, no bullshit, had a power mode that you switched to instead of just holding a button to do ONE thing.
Crysis 2's suit was confusing at first, upgrades were pretty worthless, had less modes
But this is all probably a dream, they won't go back.

Wow it looks EXACTLY like fucking 2...
I also hate how it looks like we are only fighting aliens.
I loved fighting humans in crysis 1, it really showed the advantage of a higher than high tech suit.
Fighting aliens with super suits in a super suit..
meh.
wow, looks like a expansion pack for crysis 2 with new exciting bow

It's obvious that you're posting just to trash the game.
Otherwise you would have known that it has a decent looking story as well as the feature to fight humans, like the previous two.
[editline]24th April 2012[/editline]
You obviously obviously missed the humans in the first few frames, as well as those shot and killed with arrows sticking from their torsos.
[editline]24th April 2012[/editline]
The thing I'm not liking is how confusing the story is right now. So Prophet comes back, or are we playing Alcatraz still or what the hell?
[editline]24th April 2012[/editline]
"In the previous games, weapons drained your energy. The tech bow doesn't. Also, you can use it while cloaked, giving Prophet certain advantages."
Doesn't sound so useless now, does it?
Hopefully most of the reused stuff is placeholder. I really don't want Crytek to start acting like Infinity Ward and Treyarch where they reuse 90% of the assets in the the last game, add a few more new weapons and levels, make another linear campaign, put it on a different disk, with another $60 dollar price tag, then call it a sequel.
i hope it gets leaked like 2, not that I would ever partake in illegal activities, but atleast you could see what it's like
From what I've seen/read so far colour me unimpressed. Cevat has a year to change that but until he does I'm saving my coin.

even if you want to defend the gameplay that will obviously be another alien hunting simulator, cmon, are you seriously telling me the story is decent? i'm a crysis fan and i hate the crysis story, it's convoluted and poorly developed, there's literally no reason to try pretending otherwise unless you're just trying desperately to come up with a list of things to disagree with jens on.
crysis character development checklist:
- Name
there you go, now you're all set to add new characters to the crysis universe!
I would actually be good of they change the color theme based on the surrounding environments.
Like in the beginning of the trailer, with lots of trees in the view and fog plus sun rays, the fog should be yellow, green plus some dark tones in the distances.
Players will slip on the nano suit of the character Prophet, who returns from the dead in Crysis 2 (apparently he didn't die). "We brought Prophet back because he has the most heritage; he's the most layered, flawed, and the most interesting characters in the franchise," says Hojengaard. "He was a good soldier before, but now he's returned to find out what happened to his squad (killed in Crysis 2) and to redeem himself by becoming the hunter, not the hunted. It's the theme of the game, redemption and revenge."
Pft. The only reason they're focusing on him is because he got abducted in C1 and came back. Psycho's much more interesting and actually has a personality.
Otherwise I don't quite see how so many of you can judge this based off a few moments of scattered gameplay; chances are they just took those bits from a set piece or two (though I admit this is an optimistic guess). I'll reserve my own judgement for when I see something more concrete in the future.

Also interview with Hojengaard just in case anyone missed it:

The whine about reused sounds and models amuses me. For example M4 in COD since it was brought up. It's the same gun. It's not going to sound different all of a sudden...even when it does

Using different sounds for weapons can be refreshing to listen to.
Oh, I agree. Still, I understand why you would keep using the previous sounds. You'd think that CELL would invent/develop new rifles in 20 yrs...
What the fuck is with you?
"thoai hoa dot song co"
Corrupted neck spine??
The fuck?

He's Vietnamese i guess.
Oh stop complaining about reused assets, valve does it all the time. A box is a box.

The ceph gardening tools in Crysis 1 and 2 are different, they're all localised, and adapt to their surroundings individually, which is why in the jungle they had aquatic and freezing look and tech, while in N.Y.C. they had human look and tech.
The thing I'm not liking is how confusing the story is right now. So Prophet comes back, or are we playing Alcatraz still or what the hell?
Well, at least going from Crysis 2 and Legion, Alcatraz is still Alcatraz, just that he's assimilated Prophet's memories and for some reason refers to himself as Prophet.
There were some surprises concerning the new nano suit.
Actually it's still N2, it's just growing. At least according to Crysis 2.
Whoever complaining about reused HUD, why they don't think that you still use the same NanoSuit2? Jeez...
Aight, don't trash me for this but I ain't played Crysis 1 but I did play Crysis 2.
When I played Crysis 2 campaign I enjoyed it a lot, it had more variety than FPS's these days.
However I felt when they introduced the Ceth, I though it was cool, they had a lots abilities that you had like invisibilty and could kill you if you weren't careful but after a while it got sort of boring.
I liked being a ninja and picking off CELL soliders one by one with stealth because it was so satisfying.
Personally for Crysis 3, I hope they strike a balance between the amount of human enemys and ceth enemys, as in instead of the last levels being primarily Ceth, there should be a mix.
I just hope they have more vehicles

Apparently they are like the Combine from Half-Life diferent units with other species

That and the reused assets can easily be placeholders.
This will probably be another rushed console port with little PC support and things like tessellation/HD texture packs will come 6 months after release.
I just don't get developers today.
1 may have ran like shit, and it may have had a pretty... mediocre story line, but the game was fun.
The super suit was something amazing because only you and your squad had it, not every fucker you run into.
Then 2 was just meh... complete MEH.
3 will probably be complete meh as well.
Like what rikimaru6811 said above, the Nanosuit 2 would not magically change huds.
Plus, there was pretty much nothing wrong with it in Crysis 2, so why get rid of it?
I just hope they have more vehicles
Fat chance.
Fat chance.
Actually I'm fairly sure I read somewhere there would be more expanded vehicle play. Let me see if I can find the article.
