I can just see either of those two situation's happen. [sp]Hopefully they shouldnt do the same as what happend to Gat in Saints Row The 3rd, that decision was a deal breaker for me.[/sp]
Even better, kill him off in the very first mission off screen.
Oh, I see, like the only surviving character from Crysis 1. Oh.
[sp] We'll se Nomad in some form.[/sp] So...what. CELL keeps a backup of the minds of the nanosuit wearers? Just plop [sp] Nomad's mind [/sp] in there with Alky and Prophet. Fuck, upload Strickland too.
Shame Morrison had to go. Who's going to sell toasters now?
I think he's going to die four levels in to piss off the fanbase and add drama
I once had a dream, where I played C3 and Psycho appeared. He aged a lot. He was an old man in a Nanosuit and had a different voice actor. And his personality changed (in those 24 years), he was nothing like in Crysis Warhead. And he got killed 5 minutes after he appeared to help me. I don't want this to happen, with him. I liked him how he was in Crysis Warhead. Please, Crytek, don't fuck up your best Crysis character.
from what I've heard you can.
Pretty sure there'd be some backlash if they turned around and said 'No fanbase, the futuristic looking compound bow can only fire regular, bog standard arrows'. Im confused. Do we play as alcatraz prophet or prophet prophet? I kinda want to continue as alcatraz
Im confused. Do we play as alcatraz prophet or prophet prophet? I kinda want to continue as alcatraz
iirc alcatraz just found prophets memories stored in the suit.
Alcatraz calling himself Prophet and having all of Prophet's memories if Crysis 2/Legion are anything to go by with.
yeah well i wanna play ceph
Im confused. Do we play as alcatraz prophet or prophet prophet? I kinda want to continue as alcatraz
Prophet shot himself in the head so I don't think he'd be coming back.

damnit i need to play the original again now, I've not played it in months.
Prophet shot himself in the head so I don't think he'd be coming back.
The nanosuit just uses Alcatraz's body with Prophet's mind
Im confused. Do we play as alcatraz prophet or prophet prophet? I kinda want to continue as alcatraz
Alcatraz is kind of screwed up what with another dude's memories floating around his brain pan and some guy who he's well aware shot himself in the brain going all drill sergeant nasty on his ass, so he's started calling himself Prophet and he may or may not be a bit crazy
The nanosuit just uses Alcatraz's body with Prophet's mind
Not... really. Alcatraz assimilated Prophet's memories. That's really all there is to it.
Alcatraz is kind of screwed up what with another dude's memories floating around his brain pan and some guy who he's well aware shot himself in the brain going all drill sergeant nasty on his ass, so he's started calling himself Prophet and he may or may not be a bit crazy
Oh he's not crazy. He knows Prophet is dead. He knows he assimilated Prophet's memories. He knows that he's not Prophet. He still insists on calling himself Prophet.
it's a really stupid plot device though. nobody even really liked prophet. he was just kind of there, in the first game, and did stuff.
Some info:
In trying to figure out whether Crysis 3 will be any good, the main thing I care about is how open the levels will be. The environments in the first half of Crysis were huge, bigger than Battlefield maps, and it’s what gave that game a sense of freedom. Crysis 2 never quite gave me that feeling, so I wanted to find out how the third game would measure up. I asked creative director Rasmus Højengaard. PCG: Crysis 1 had very open landscapes, whereas Crysis 2 was set in tighter urban areas – where on that scale does Crysis 3 fall? Rasmus Højengaard: It’s not linear like Crysis 2, and it’s not a completely open island you can explore. But we’re utilising the advantages of each of these settings whenever it makes sense in the game, right? So if we want to make sure you experience a massive Michael Bay moment, then it’s no good to place you in the middle of a big grass field then crossing your fingers and hoping that you will see it. On the other hand, if we want to empower you in the sense of control in that you can plan things out and execute them and get a great feeling of success afterwards, then it’s not cool to put you in a sewage pipe, because there’s not a lot of variety there. So it’s about utilising each of these advantages at the right point, and that’s what I meant about dynamic range, we’re really trying to go for both of those spectrums with this game, and the environment supports that, because we have the type of environment you have in Crysis, as well as the type of environment you have in Crysis 2. And we can just kind of move you around and use these wonders to push each of these things so that you get both of these experiences. And a thing to mention also is that linear gameplay is a little more consumer friendly. Whereas sandbox gameplay is a little more hardcore. So we don’t wanna do either or, we wanna make sure that there is something in there for everybody to enjoy. PCG: So are there big open stretches of jungle? Rasmus Højengaard: Well, there’ll be bigger open areas than what you saw here today, yes, for sure. What we saw was a longer version of the trailer, to give you an idea of the environments he’s referencing here: pretty tight ones.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/01/crysis-3-creative-director-on-sandbox-play-versus-michael-bay-moments/
Crytek has recognized the benefits of creating a truly open world game like Skyrim and wants to incorporate certain elements from the popular Bethesda game into Crysis 3. Those who played the prior entries in the series will know that the first Crysis provided a much more open world expanse than the second title, which felt focused and narrow in comparison. Crytek hopes to take the benefits that come from both an open world and a more focused, linear experience and combine the two, offering a rich and detailed world that isn’t overly large. In an interview with Games On Net, Crytek’s Rasmus Hojengaard discussed the direction the studio plans to take with Crysis 3, saying: In Crysis 3, we want scale, but we don’t want the immense scale that Skyrim has. What we then add is detail within that scale that we decide, so that we get this richness in the environment that we want. Skyrim, they’re going for epic, epic scale, which means that their micro-detail is prioritized less. Their micro-detail exists in their grandeur rather than in their let’s-take-a-look-at-this-little-thing-here. Hojengaard went on to point out the importance of providing a super detailed world for the player to explore. By striking the right balance between giving just enough freedom and still offering up an incredibly detailed world, the gamer will apparently be able to better immerse him/herself into the game world. It isn’t in any way pushing anything but the ambiance of the game, but ambiance in a setting like this is super-important. If you stop and everything’s frozen, it’s not gonna be believable. You need all these layers with the depth; you need the light-shafts that move, you need the movement of the plants, and you need the little animals that hop around or some random deer that walks across the screen at one point that you can maybe shoot with your bow if you want. Stuff like this is what’s gonna make people go, ‘Holy crap, this is a rich environment.’ That is our goal. There’s no doubt that Crytek is really pulling out all the stops on this game. Unfortunately, we’ve still got quite a bit of waiting to do, as Crysis 3 isn’t set to launch until spring of next year.
http://playstationlifestyle.net/2012/05/01/crysis-3-to-include-a-level-of-detail-similar-to-skyrim-without-the-immense-scale/ Deer confirmed? [editline]2nd May 2012[/editline] Also:
It was a disappointment for some that successor Crysis 3 will be returning to New York, the setting of Cryris 2. Crytek, however, stated they haven't chosen NYC simply to make it easier for themselves. "One thing I want to underline is that we did not do this because it’s easier for us. All of the assets have been created from the ground-up. There is nothing left of the New York you saw in Crysis 2. As you saw in the demo, there’s no resemblance to what we did before," said Crytek’s director of creative development Rasmus Hojengaard to RPS.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Crysis-3-8242-York-Setting-Recycling-Assets-41832.html
I'm really doubtful about this game. From what I've seen it looks an awful lot like some basic Crysis 2 expansion. Also I love how they say that Skyrim didn't have micro-detail while there were freaking ANTS in Skyrim. The whole "it's not totally closed but it's still closed" thing kinda bugs me. A game like Arkham City proved that you could have a rather big playground that is very detailed without losing any sort of freedom and still be able to include more linear moments in it.
Sounds promising.
Sounds promising.
Not really... Sounds more like "blablabla, we say this to make you shut up, in the end you will buy it anyway."

Chirst crytek. Give us the large open areas one had, don't guide us by the hand to the cool shit, let us find it ourselfs, give us a reason to replay the game. By all means for major 'plot' moving set peices do guide us. But not for everything. Half the fun is finding cool shit by yourself.
