for everyone else, 1 performs better, as it should
Opps, I clipped the wrong resolution, I run at 1920x1200, which Crysis 3 still outperforms Crysis 1 at. Still doesn't change or invalidate my points. Performance varies per configuration, and my current configuration has Crysis 3 on top on performance and nothing you say will change that.

ok
those benchmarks aren't a fair comparison anyway, the Crysis 3 ones are only running with FXAA while the Crysis 1 ones are running with 4x MSAA
:)
I never noticed but when Pyscho gives you [sp]the dog tags[/sp], Prophet [sp]ties them to his bow[/sp]
I still find it really weird how [sp]The third tag is never actually shown. I have a feeling it's not Nomads because in the intro, you can see 'Sykes' on one of the dog tags.[/sp]
I have a feeling Crytek is looking to bring back [sp]Nomad[/sp]. Especially with the [sp]redacted information on him[/sp].

And i'm running TXAA on Crysis 3, still out performing. Will you just drop it! There's no reason for this.

I'd love to see his return. Playable or Non-playable.
provide factual evidence to the contrary of someone's anecdotal evidence that they keep changing to suit their argument "pls just stop arguing with me!!"
ok i will

I prefer Nomad to prophet, Nomad didn't go off on inner monologues every other minute.

Your "factual evidence" doesn't apply to every system configuration out there. The simple fact is on my setup, Crysis 3 outperforms Crysis 1. Simple as that. Even your "Factual Evidence" says so.
Nomad needed more personality imo but that was it. Probably had something to do with his VA.
I also noticed in the intel, [sp]The stuff about Nomad was redacted in 2025, a solid five years after Crysis 1[/sp]

nope
Crysis 3 runs better and looks better in my pc than Crysis 1 ever did.
I'm talking both 5760x1080 and 1920x1080.
If one sets them up for about equal FPS performance, crysis 3 ends up looking heaps better.
Part of Crysis 1 being so hard to run was the insane amount of AI some maps had with the pathing to go with it.
The other part was the ridiculous amounts of vegetation. If you go in the editor and look at some of the maps, they literally have hundreds of thousands of vegetation objects.
I want the editor so I can see how the games run handing the same load. I remember I was pretty disappointed with Crysis 2 when I spent a while converting a Crysis 1 map to it and replacing all the AI and stuff only do have the game run a lot worse on lower settings because their main optimization was really just having a way smaller entity load in that game.

Well Ea and Crytek did profit greatly from Crysis so far. lol.
I finished Crysis 2 today, man what a shitty ending, not just narrative wise but gameplay wise. [sp]Hurr walk forward and click a few times and break your "W" key. I was expecting a pretty nice boss fight ala Crysis 1, I was expecting the Spear to come to life and shit but nope[/sp], "THEY CALL ME PROPHET".
The beginning was a bore, nanosuit being nerfed and all. But it forced you to adapt a different style of play which was okay I guess. The game really got good for me when the aliens showed up after [sp]Lockhart almost catches you[/sp]. Felt like there was more variety in how I could approach things, moreso than fighting C.E.L.L. anyway. Bought the armor upgrade which gives it less drain as well as Mobility Enhance which gives running and jumping less drain, shit was a power house combination. I didn't see any reason to buy anything else, the power stomp was a piece of shit when I did eventually get enough for it. The latter half of the game was definitely much more enjoyable with the maps getting a bit more varied. Beginning was a piece of shit.
Narrative wise it is far FAR worse than Crysis. Crysis 1, your objectives are laid out in full in the first five minutes of the game. Dr. Rosenthal was on an island, North Korean military locked down said island, picked up a distress signal from research vessel, someone down there wants to be found etc.
Crysis 2, find Gould. Why? Did he send a distress thing? Why am I fighting humans? There are fucking aliens out there this is a sequel to a game with aliens where are the aliens? The protagonist Nomad talks in the first game, why isn't Alcatraz talking and telling Gould "Yo I'm not this Prophet character you speak of."
Though it's clear that Cervat Yerli is a pretty competent director. Crysis 1 and 2 have good-very good pacing and amazing set pieces, he knew exactly where the music should be (speaking mostly of Crysis 1, I didn't really notice music in 2), etc. I look forward to his work beyond Crysis.

So the plot is worse because it isn't laid out in it's entirety in the first five minutes of the game?
Alcatraz can't speak, he got shot in the throat.
hence why I like to consider Crysis a standalone title.
EA just sent me a copy of C3 for both PC and 360 (that's getting ebayed) as well as this....

A Nanosuit onesie
I am both amazed and fucking terrified at the same time.
Please post that onesie auction when it's up.
Crytek has issues with difficulty scaling it seems. The game is piss easy on hardest up until the middle of root of all evil, and then you have much less cover, and larger areas to run around. If you're going stealth you're fucked.
So I went rambo and it's significantly easier :\
it has already been stated that it was for recon, and it's a nanosuit it's thin as fuck
1 looks fucking badass, 2 looks like fat midget, I really don't like how they removed all that shit from the back either, it added a lot to the coolness of the first suit
Not to mention if the nanosuit 2 is built to be more of an assault suit it sure carries a disappointing amount of guns.
Nanosuit 2: Two weapons, three rocket launchers OR three C4 packs, collapsible composite bow, one heavy weapon on hands, five grenades.
Nanosuit 1: Two sidearms, two weapons (minigun and gauss rifle), three-shot rocket launcher, four packs of C4, three AT mines, three claymore mines, SIXTEEN HE grenades plus smoke, flash and nano disruption grenades.
I know which one I'd pick for a prolonged conflict.
anyone had trouble getting into the vtol with the FY71? the npc's just stand there blocking the way, looks like there is a upgrade crate and jaw in there as well
Did you chuck the crate out of the way? They can't leave the VTOL for some reason when the crate is there.
and by characters I mean nomad and 1's version of psycho
rip aztec
I thought Psycho was an annoying asshole in Crysis 1, he got better in Warhead though.
I prefer Nomad to prophet, Nomad didn't go off on inner monologues every other minute.
Nomad was a pretty good player character in my opinion, he acted like a professional, analyzed his environment and described it aloud for his superiors.
Compare that to Prophet who goes "NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE ALPHA CEPH THE VISIONS THE ALPHA CEPH STUPID HUMANS THERE'S MORE THAN THAT HERE"
Also I find it hilarious that in Crysis 1 US forces nuke Lingshan, it backfires terribly and powers up the Ceph enough for them to enact stage 2. Then in Crysis 2 they think about nuking the aliens AGAIN, apparently forgetting what happened last time.
And in Crysis 3? You guessed it.
I actually liked Nomad quite a bit, never got why so many people didn't like him. I thought he delivered his lines fairly well and he didn't talk every 2 seconds.
In before lock.
