I still don't understand why the hell new york has been abandoned. You retake one of the most important cities in America just to let it rot?
This game looks fucking rad. It's basically mixing the locations of the first two games, jungle and city. Also, they said it was going to be more open and sandbox-y, ala Crysis 1.
If Crysis 3 has North Koreans i'll be all over it.
• Seven Wonders of the Urban Rainforest - New York City has been contained in a giant nanodome and grown into a unique rainforest with seven distinct environments. Master the ultimate sandbox and turn it into your own personal hunting ground.
Hmm, sandbox? [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] One of the things I didn't like about Crysis 2, they locked out most of the console commands, you couldn't cheat. Sometimes I like to mess around, only way to do that with Crysis 2 is to use the Sandbox editor.
Hmmm sounds like it could be totally open world, or like 7 different hub areas. That would be amazing if they did that. It's probably just wishful thinking, considering it will be on console as well.

Those are only early access in multiplayer and a couple of useless skins and dogtags.
I think Cry3 devs are aiming for other areas in NY. (That were really far far away from the floating island)

Probably abandoned because water levels have risen to above street level.
Probably abandoned because water levels have risen to above street level.
or maybe because of the huge dome CELL put over it
New screen: [t]http://images.idgentertainment.de/images/idgwpgsgp/bdb/2285934/bigimage.jpg[/t]
I can already tell this is going to be very linear like Crysis 2.
Maybe the arrows are coated with some fancy anti-xenos substance they cooked up during the decades.
or maybe because of the huge dome CELL put over it
Yeah the same department you destroyed in Crysis 2 returns and puts a huge dome creatively named the Nanodome over the city. Wait that's the plot. Whoever wrote the plot needs to get fired.
It's Crynet Enforcement & Local Logistics, and Crynet isn't gone, it's very likely they'd rebuild it after Crysis 2 to help Alcatraz and the world in general after Hargreave went and left and the whole shit's in Rasch's hands.
Oh right, my bad then.
I love the wild mass guessing that's happening (like with every fucking announcement for everything ever). We know next to NOTHING about the details of the plot, and yet we're already demanding writers be fired, and are saying the game will be shit? Stay classy, facepunch!
I can already tell this is going to be very linear like Crysis 2.
How? How Can you tell from that screenshot that it is going to be linear?
I can already tell this is going to be very linear like Crysis 2.
Actually, one of the descriptions of the game says it's the "ultimate sandbox". Which is good.
Actually, one of the descriptions of the game says it's the "ultimate sandbox". Which is good.
Developers promise a lot of things about games. Crysis 2 was supposed to be a great sandbox shooter, too.
Developers promise a lot of things about games. Crysis 2 was supposed to be a great sandbox shooter, too.
but I'm sure crytek knows that people didn't like the fact that crysis 2 wasn't that open. They're probably going to have wide open areas like a massive jungle and then when you have to go through to the next area you have a nice linear, story developing chapter before going into another open rain forest/ snowy city/ sail around those island.
I never finished the second game because it wasn't living up to my expectations. Maybe the third will be good, but I kinda doubt it..
Maybe the player will somehow enter a massive football field/ or where ever massive filled with trees and stuff. Then we can get the semi-open world feelings like in Cry1 again.
To be honest this doesn't look any promising. The only good was about Crysis 2 is environment. Gameplay was boring though and story was nothing special. Also it was the only game where you can't do shit with vehicles (except for 1 sequence).
Actually, one of the descriptions of the game says it's the "ultimate sandbox". Which is good.
peter molyneux says you should listen to promises.

Stay classy, facepunch!
We've already seen Crysis 2's plot, same dude's making the C3 plot. Sure it might be good but the odds are against him. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] It's not the gameplay I'm worried about, it's the story. They've said themselves that they realized C2 was overly consolized and not that good at all.
Upgraded Nanosuit eh? I hope this allows for more mobility. Jumping from tree to tree hunting Ceph with a Bow would be badass.
