I wanted to jungle originally (Radiant), but that would leave Lich solo against Skeleton King and Windrunner - yeah no.
He fed 8 deaths in 5 minutes by rushing in, dying, respawning with a TP Scroll to go straight back to top to do it again.
Lich is a great suicide solo, sacrificing the ranged creep, you will guarantee the creep wave will always be at your tower, besides you have a great range, but yea, one good shackle and stun from SK would have mean his death anyways.

Lifestealer is a good jungler tbh
stealer is one of the worst junglers in the game (of the heroes who actually can do it). You spend the entire time with almost no health, you need tons of regen items and you can be ganked by a wet fart. Your skills are really good in lane too. People just look at "oh he has a self regen, he must be a good jungler!" without really thinking about it.

What? I just played him yesterday and was on <70% hp all the time. And I did jungle every creep, not just the easy ones, and they did try to gank me a couple of times.
So, really, I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I picked Naix when we needed a jungler. I even blocked my easy camp from spawning at start (how??) but i could farm without any troubles, some mid lane creeps when our Pudge was roaming, and I got Midas at 7th minute, etc.
and there are not that many junglers anyway, except like Chen and notably Enigma who is probably the best jungler. (And Furion..)

What about Bloodseeker, Ursa and Lycan?
They are terrible junglers.
I always see everyone say "so and so is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE jungler and you should NEVER jungle with them."
So who the heck is supposed to be a good jungler, then?

Everyone thats not Bloodseeker, Ursa, Lycan and to some extent Lifestealer.

I was complaining about shadow shaman being a noob and a feeder then invoker said
Invoker : dude stfu shadow shaman plays better than you
30 minutes later...........
shadow shaman 2-17
invoker : fuck shadow shaman leave.
Basically anyone that can summon/steal units to tank damage, except for Lone Druid and maybe Lycan. And of course anyone who can deal good AoE damage (Axe, Dark Seer...)
Lifesteal and 'sustainability' are pretty much a shit excuse to jungle.
batrider can jungle too, honorable mention
you stack and firefly and shit

Enigma, Chen, Enchantress.
I got an illusion rune as bounty hunter and send it to the enemy faceless void to toy around with him. He time walked on to it, missed his chrono on my illusion and then he killed him in shame.
I've jungled with Lion before and it was quite effective. I left my lane partner (The DragonKnight) down in the hard lane so we didn't have to split the farm, and between my tranquil boots and my mana-drain I didn't have any down-time.
My skill-set also meant that I could immediately assist the easy-lane/mid at the drop of a hat.

Ursa, who may I remind you can solo Roshan at level 7 with Vladimir's Offering, is a terrible jungler?
I'm sorry, I just cannot take you seriously now at all.
Had a game with me and my friend and the other 3 were Russians.
I was the first to pick and I chose AM straight away and my friend chose PA probs not the most amazing choices but then the other 3 saw this and picked Spectre, Huskar and CM (so only 1 support) about 20 secs later. Cheers for choosing some supports guys!
Later on in the game I was trying to direct them and tell them we need to move around together as they were trying to enter in 1 vs 5 etc and they spoke english as they did earlier on in the game but suddenly they all started talking Russian and when I asked what they were saying they just said "not for you" and then they wondered why we lost :-/

I had a game where Ursa managed to kill him at level 1 as soon as the match started, that team tried rushing mid from the go, it was an intense match.
Nevermind it was a team effort, the announcement at the time made me think it was just Ursa :v: https://dotabuff.com/matches/75099466

Hours kinda' mean nothing. There was someone who I used to play with who had like a thousand more hours than I did, and he was still shit.

Same guy who told me that Hand of Midas is bad on Furion.

Enigma. He's the only efficient jungler in the entire game, sometimes to the point where he farms faster than the mid laner. It's much faster to farm if you do it in lane with any other hero.
The only real reason you jungle is for three reasons:
1) Safety (this is for carries like Lifestealer that you don't want ganked)
2) Secured farm (you can't get denied in the jungle)
and most importantly
3) A solo lane (secures another hero on your team lots of experience and possibly gold)
If you don't need any of those three, then don't jungle, unless you're Enigma. Hell, even Nature's farms faster in the lane than the jungle.
Enigma, Chen, Enchantress.
Even Chen and Enchantress are better in lane. You can have complete lane dominance early game with those creeps.

Ursa is the shittiest jungler I have ever tried BEFORE vlads.
After vlads he will roll around in money and kill Roshan easily, but before Vlads hes utter garbage.

Lycan is a much worse jungler earlier on. Ursa is actually pretty good from how I play him.

You can solo Roshan at level 5 if you get Vlad's.
So a chen has 3 creeps with him and ls infests one of them, we tell him it is a genius idea to send the creep he infests to fountain. He never sends it back.

done that once. You need a wisp and a ton of heal and you gotta share the tank. When he's low, you'll tank. he'll tether and pop a potion to sustain your health. when he's at full, he goes back in to tank. repeat 3 times and Congrats. You're both almost level 4 and have a ton of gold.
But if you fail, you p. much threw the game. Good luck.
After 2 days without playing dota, I decided to solo queue! got matched with the Timbersaw-instantlock, a BR that apparently was playing leshrac for the first time he didn't say a word the whole match, a magnus that bought weird items and a decent Storm that tried to fix the match.... it didn't go well at all.
[editline]15th December 2012[/editline]
Woohoo I tried with another match! drow instantlock in the enemy team, our bat leaves at 10 mins, when he comes back at 23 mins we lost all towers, then it was a match of 50 mins of splitpushing because the enemy team feed us hard, then jugg finished farming and tanked us while drow did the dps, it'd have been actually fun, if it wasn't for a 4channer Sven trashtalking the whole match...

If he had rank 3 Ult it's only 60 second cooldown, so he just wanted to secure a late-game kill (MAYBE) but still, that's pretty fucking funny :v:

1. How is Bloodseeker or Lycan viable anymore?
2. Maybe I just built Ursa wrong, but I randomed him once, bought the usual starting items, and then was at 50 hp most of the time in the forest.
3. Lifestealer is better in lane unless you get some advantage from having a solo guy.
4. You can also do it with Skeleton King and Ursa.
Lycan is still perfectly capable of jungling you just have to not be braindead about it and do some tanking yourself (hence making you vulnerable to ganks, one of his biggest strengths before). Bloodseeker is a shitty hero and if I ever saw anybody jungling him I would shoot myself.

Laning against Riki and Drow sounded bad until they both decided the best way to harrass was to focus the newbie Sniper while ignoring me and the tower they waltzed past.
Sniper couldn't grasp the concept of a stealth hero and thus couldn't fathom how Riki could suddenly appear even though he never saw him.
Riki and Drow repeatedly ignored towers and creeps that promptly killed them.
Shadow Shaman had a secret deathwish since he kept lingering on the front while seriously low.

With a bit of practise you can take care of 3 camps at once with Bat.
Freshly starting a game, no lane arguing or bitching about the support not getting the courier, going to my lane.
5 seconds before it starts, the enemy SK tried to solo Roshan.
Spoiler: [sp]he failed[/sp]
Thinking that the SK there means Sand King makes it infinitely more hilarious.
