it really pisses me off when people refer to fucking items by their old names No sorry I don't know what a lothar's or a guinsoo is, please refer to them as shadow blade or scythe of vyse when talking about dota 2 /useless rant

goblin shredder's an item?
goblin shredder's an item?
general wc3dota/dota2 name swapping.
I just hate it when we have invisible opposition and the team doesnt listen to stick within tower range (esp when supports dont buy wards). And people who just want to push. We had the lead with all t1 towers cleared. Then 1 by 1 everyone kept dying to those invis heroes. Carry didnt wanna farm and kept q.qing about ff.
ASDFADFDA our random person when i 4 man is dumbass lich: skips sacrifice and ice armor, goes stats and nuke... doesnt ward complains ALL game about us having no farm and goes in 1v5 daasdsa nightstalker: Runs in 1v5 all the time (with wards..) feeds 10 times, tries to leave at end to avoid abandon(he got it :D)
All 4 team mate random, I random too. We loose :v: (no hard carry)

But I know completely new guys who is new to DOTA 2 ITSELF that uses old names on shit to sound like they know stuff when they don't. Why call it Desolator and not Stygian, why call it Shadow Blade and not Lothars, why call it Drums and not Jangos, why call it Spirit Breaker when you can call him Barathrum, or how about Night Stalker balanar. Or BH known as Gondar. Its pointless, POINTLESS. They barely know what the fuck they are talking about but insist on using the old names just to be annoying. The only heroes who should and can be referred to by their old names is Shredder, Furion and Centaur Warchief (But most people just call him centaur anyways and warrunner sounds awful) Also, even worse, randomly using their names instead of their title. Akasha, Boush, Traxex, Bradwarden, Mangix, Tequoia, Lanaya, Rylai, Lyralei, Leoric, Nessaj, Rattletrap, Rizzrack, the list goes on and on. I just don't understand why do people do it.
Why is it bad to relate by their names to characters that have a long name. I'd rather say Bara than Spirit Breaker.
I just initialise them to BH or SB.
Why is it bad to relate by their names to characters that have a long name. I'd rather say Bara than Spirit Breaker.
sb, breaker, ns, stalker, bh, a lot shorter.
Why is it bad to relate by their names to characters that have a long name. I would use the current acronyms (SB for Spirit Breaker) for them, but I have a mic so I usually just say over chat. Everyone gets what I mean if I say Gondar, so why should I give a shit?
sb, breaker, ns, stalker, bh, a lot shorter.
But they don't sound as nice
But they don't sound as nice
who gives a shit you don't win games based on how nice your typing is
I didn't play much WC3 Dota but I played enough to get used to stuff like lothars plus my friend who played wc3 dota for a lot longer than I did always called blink dagger kelen or just simply dagger so I got used to that too. It's a habit I can't get rid of.

"Shadow Blade" pft. I never even played dota 1 but I prefer the calling "lothar's" scythe of vyse, or guinsoo, you can however just call "hex" or "hex stick"

only "non-ingame" names I use for heroes are: davion (dk), roof (treant), shredder (timbersaw), crix (sandking), naix (lifestealer), bala (nightstalker), bara (spirit breaker), dirge (undying), magnataur (magnus), lanaya (templar assassin), gondar (bounty hunter), nevermore (shadow fiend), mortred (phantom assassin), rhasta (shadow shamang), furion (prophet), akasha (qop), kaldr (aa) and for items: rod of fun (rod of atos), sheepstick (scythe of vyse), lothars (shadow blade)
2 russians getting mad at being called russians and calling other people racist. "mess with russians and we feed"; "fucked your grandfather in 45"; "learn history"; "0 intellect" etc. laughed my fucking ass off that game and was sad at the same time because retards like these exist.
Some heroes I like to call by their names; Naix, Gondar, Bara(thrum), Sylla, Luci(fer) Some heroes have a very simplified name to begin with; like Axe, Lich, Sven, Puck, Zeus, Luna, Lina etc. And some heroes I just call by their abbreviation; PL, WR, CM, DP So a little bit of everything for me. [editline]1st January 2013[/editline] As for items, usually I use short names like 'Meka' or funny callings which I've gathered from random people, like 'tarasqa' for Heart of Tarrasque :v:
Another 30 minutes game courtesy of the enemy Drow Ranger. 2 brs in my team reported us all for "noobs" and went AFK in fountain along with the NS that went AFK at around 10 minutes into the game.

I hate 30 min matches. Those snowball pubstomps, especially if a riki is involved. Cant do anything about it except hope to get out of "normal" skilled matches. There was one match though where riki was fed and leading their team to victory. We had an anti-mage, and mid game we played real defensively (tower hugging, farming near base walls only) while AM got fat in jungle (he died 2-3 times too though there). And we managed to win that game. If only people listen and stop venturing outside alone when riki begins to snowball. [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] And those matches where everyone on the my team picks, and the opponents have 2 left and they choose to go riki + bh. I know they are squishy and stuff and can be countered by wards/gem. But normal skill matches.
It's up to you to continually urge your team (whoever is laning against riki) to purchase sentry wards. And from then on dust/wards is mandatory + a gem in the lategame. It's maddening how cocky some people are with invis abilities..
i had someone call the monkey king bar a banana stick they were cool
Alright,4th game that i lost in a row Had a Wisp that didn't tether. At least I got The Nature's Prophet Mega-kill Announcer.
I was in a match where my team had a shadow fiend who leveled up his raze after leveling everything else. He said it was pointless because you have to be facing the direction for the raze. Also I was laning with a clinkz who rushed daedalus, bought nothing, no regen, not anything. He died a lot and when he got it he only did like 200 damage with the crit.
I joined a bot match to try out huskar with a meta i saw somewhere. I leveled his flaming spears to lvl one and take mid. Then kunkka on my team starts giving me shit about how i should have got the blood passive first and how hes with his friends in a 4 man premade. I disagreed and said the flaming spears are great for orb walking and pestering in general. The game continues for a bit and i get first blood. 20 minutes later and im balling out of control. I looked at our kills and see im that i am the only one with kills on the team except for kunkka who has one. I lol and point that out and i soon am blasted by all of them saying how huskar is easy win hero. Another guy says "huskar is too op, his lifesteal (???) and max regen is stupid" i lol and they dont do much all game but call me a faggot. Btw the kunkka who was giving advice pointed out that he just bought dota2.
