I was playing as silence with a meepo as my lanepartner, against clinks and enchantress. They went superagressive.
They chased and towerdived us since level one and "dominated" the lane. For two minutes.
They and then their entire team focused on me, while leaving spectre and meepo freefarm. I ended up pretty bad in gold and died a lot, but the same thing happend to all of them.
Meepo was so fat he could take them alone.
They lost around minute 30.
This is why you do things carefully, going rambo is not worth it and you'll end up shooting yourself in the foot.

we had our lanes almost perfectly set up too, and he was the brown player in random draft so its not like we could have waited for him

To be honest after the 20 min mark the block on vanguard is trivial, the hp is flat and not from stats, therefore not given to illusions and the regen is useless if you plan to get a heart soon enough. (which you should)
You might as well just skip it, you're not supposed to get into fights at the 20-30 min mark anyway. Hell I'd rather have my radiance late (25min mark) and flashfarm the jungle than get a nearly useless vanguard.

When not focused in fights, MoM give ridiculously good gains, i.e a farming tool, and high dps increase.
But retards holding it generally get themselves killed with shitty positioning anyway because omg Singsing uses it I must use it too!!!!!111 (and also because it's fucking hilarious when using MoM actually works out well)
mask of madness is good for farming and pickin out single heroes on anyone (well maybe not anti-mage)

It might be true though, I know people who have played dota for years and are still awful.
A lot of private servers (*cough*ombuserver*cough*) are plagued with bad players, since everyone is awful everyone thinks they are good, so they never question if they should improve: They are already the best (But they actually arent, and they are pretty much stuck at the bottom of the trench).

Had two "dudebros" who refused to listen to the others and failed when they decided to do something, but gotta admit, it was really funny when these two were going for kills with my friend, they got a kill, then he says back, one of the guy yells on the mic saying he's not a pussy or something, both of them rush past tier 2 and get killed by their drow, next thing I hear it's a loud laugh followed by I TOLD YOU BRO
Two of my teammates DCed, drow after 1 death and no farm, and bounty hunter after dying 4 times and standing still in team fights not helping at all.
Enemy sven DCed when they were winning, causing them to lose :smile:

tbf spirit breaker is a pretty dope counter to sniper
no matter how carefully he's positioned, you can just charge him and stunlock him to death, and if he tries to shadow blade you can just dust after charge connects
