ok this is fucking dumb i ran the background downloader and downloaded the 6gb patch, then i ran the launcher again and i'm still get the "failed to download an update" error message and apparently no one knows how to fix it except to reinstall which is fucking ridiculous
I had this problem, there are a few tips; delete your battle.net folder before launching the program/running as administrator as well I think.
you think level 85 pandas are crazy? lol
We know you're proud. But you can stop now. Seriously.
leveling is way too easy nowadays. I remember when I was actually proud to have a level capped toon. Now it's commonplace to have like 5 of them
1 manned the last 45% on the last boss in Shado-Pan monastery as tank, I was under 25% hp all the time, took like 3 minutes... and i had 10 of those orbs pulling me all across the boss "room" all the fucking time :v:
so not only does the launcher ignore all the WoW files I already have, the game thinks I don't have an active subscription while I started the subscription 3 hours ago wtf blizz
6 bars to 90 the worst 6 bars ever
How do you guys do it? I can manage around 1 level every ~1-2 days or so (levels 70-80), but it's just mind-boggling to see a level 77 Pandaren Monk after only 2 days of the Expansion being out. Could someone give me a guide on how to level so fast? I'd appreciate it. People tell me "Just know the quests", but I don't get it, quests are easy. I mean, WoW has gone and put monster-zones for the quest as well as locations, so it takes me literally a few minutes to do a quest, so surely I can't be doing them any faster. So what is the secret?
There isnt really a secret, just being peristent about what your goal is, lvl as much as possible. I got 80-85 on my paladin in like 8 hours in one day because I didn't do anything else. Really, WoW is so easy nowadays when it comes to lvling.
pick up quests, do quests, turn in quests. watch some TV or listen to music while doing it, it's not like WoW leveling requires focus to do.
the new launcher absolutely will not recognize existing data files, and the old launcher gets stuck at 0.6% of converting old files looks like I'm about to blow through 20gb of data. love you comcast (no I don't)
Been leveling my dk today that has engineering. Holy shit that new cape tinker with the glider is about the best thing ever. I keep trying to continue leveling but I end up just gliding off cliffs in the Jade Forest.
Anyone from Europe that can use a SoR on me please? Char:Cranis realm: EU Eredar

Im just loving MoP, but seriously, first time I have ever been in a queue in like 6 years and never one this big at any expansion, pretty sick honestly.
I've been playing for 3 weeks now and I've found one type of characters I can't stand. Blood elf paladin healers. I can't figure out how they are accepted by anyone.
Speaking of fun, whats up with quests giving out a large amount of "fun" vanity items? I mean, a keg you can place on the ground and drink from (1 hour cooldown) is cool and all, but i'd prefer some gear.
Nah, I like the vanity items a lot more. Sure gear is obviously nice, but it's also insanely easy to get, where as vanity items are usually from long chains or aren't given out often. I just wish a lot of them didn't have such long cooldowns. 30 minute cooldown for 15 seconds of fun? Makes me sad. That said, Mr. Smite's Brass Compass is my favorite vanity item so far... I got a blood elf paladin called pulling, I haven't leveled him since BC.
I got a blood elf paladin called pulling, I haven't leveled him since BC.
Thats a pretty sick name.
Didn't you JUST activate your sub?
Protocol is the one who resubbed, Strikebango is a completely different user. Like 3 guys on this forum have that fucking gentleman cat avatar. Confused the fuck out of me too. Also, PvP is a fucking chore nowadays. Healers just chain-heal themselves or their allies. I focus on the healer, I can't fucking take him down (he heals faster than I can DPS, it takes like 3 team members to focus him and take him down), and when I focus on another dude, the healer just heals the guy I'm attacking. Ten minute long button-mashing fights to just out-mana the healer and kill him and his lackeys. What the hell?
Illidan had 2000 man queues when Dragon Soul came out.
can you only receive one SoR ever?
Illidan had 2000 man queues when Dragon Soul came out.
I quit before then, wasnt enjoying cata but im loving MoP right now.
Halfway through 87 on my panda monk. Mistweaver is damn intresting to heal with. also got my tier gloves from sha of anger.
Guys, I've noticed that as a level 74, I can take around 4 or 5 mobs my own level out at the same time. Is it because I've got good gear or have mobs become easier to kill since TBC (I say this because people say that leveling has become easier, so I figured it wasn't a longshot to ask if mobs had become easier)? I remember in the good old days, I'd have trouble taking out 2 or 3 mobs my own level (and doing so would leave me with severely low health).
might be handy to tell us what you're playing, I can solo large mobs as a DK for example but thats no challenge.
Affliction Warlock, with a Voidwalker. I can easily manage 5 mobs and jump into another 5 mobs if I heal up my Voidwalker quickly. As Demonology Warlock, I can demolish mobs one after the other and handle groups of five one after the other easily.
well yeah if you're healing your minion you're gonna do okay if you know what you're doing. Some classes are better at taking on mobs than others, my rogue wouldn't be able to take on more than 4 guys at once per example and it would nearly kill him. most npcs were weakened, part of WoWs casulization - in a way thats what helped kill WoWs community, no longer need to gather groups or friends to help take out a quest boss and you can just join a dungeon group and not talk to anyone through the entire course of it.
Queues for Outland EU is fucking ridiculous, I was 5000 the other day it took me like 5 hours to get in at which time i didnt want to play.
How would you guys rank the WoW expansions now that MoP is out? I haven't played MoP so I'm curious. For me it is TBC > WOTLK > Cata. You guys?
How would you guys rank the WoW expansions now that MoP is out? I haven't played MoP so I'm curious. For me it is TBC > WOTLK > Cata. You guys?
Having not played MoP and it being impossible to rate an expansion a few days after it's release, I agree with you, TBC > Wrath > Cata. The last year/9 months of TBC was basically the high point of WoW for me.
