I rolled a DK (frost of course because you can never have enough DPS) and I really really like A) the intro quests before the game sets you loose and B) the class itself. I haven't quite figured out the combos, but I deal a buttload of damage without taking too much damage myself if I take any at all.
I'm having a blast with Paladin in Pandaland.
What spec?
I usually buy expansions on release, have done with every one so far, I've only just decided I'm going to give Mists a go. Will I have missed out on anything buying it 2-3 weeks after release?

Nope, if anything that means you will have a better time with the leveling zones.
Trying to level in the first week was a bit of a nightmare.
i wish I had heirloom gear
leveling when you hit 60+ just gets so arduous
If you have a level 85 just do some dungeons, you earn justice points quite quick. You can earn honour super quick via a guild too (so then you can buy heirloom capes and helms).
I've come to the conclusion that Warlocks have been incredibly screwed over. I get the shit kicked out of me in 1v1 combat time and time again, no matter the class I'm against, or if I have an advantage, such as surprise or health pots / health stones / bandages.
Ah well. Feel rather stupid for putting all the effort into leveling my Warlock up. Hopped on my Druid and Warrior, and they each do so much better in combat, especially the druid with his HoT's.
No.
I wish I had never learned that kek = lol
NOW I KNOW THEY'RE LAUGHING AFTER THEY GANK ME
I, to this day wonder what " MAGAN " means.
One extremely infuriated undead male uttered these words, when I was on my ally after ganking him for a few hours, and evading his dk main.
man, kek was like the summarizing word for vanilla for me.

Any 5 letter word can be randomly replaced like that. It's supposed to look like Orcish without being able to be translated.

Yes.
Blizz still doesn't know what to do with locks.
Why do I get demolished by every class? Even 1v1 with me surprising them in combat? I'm an Affliction Warlock, but God damn, I can't do shit against any fucking class. Paladin? They just outheal my DoT's and Malefic Grasp, then just nuke me out of fucking nowhere. Monks? They roll around the place, heal damage from my DoTs and just don't give a fuck. They'll steadily knock down my health and I can't heal back up awfully fast (I can use a health pot and a health stone, but they have healing abilities and my drain life isn't that good) and I end up dead. Hunters? I can get a Blood Fear off, then put my Agony and Corruption curses on him, then just about get my Affliction curse on him, but then he's unfeared and completely tears me apart. I'm dead so damn quick.
So what fucking gives? I'm fed up of sucking major dick in PvP. I used to be able to tear through enemies, but nowadays, I just suck bad. I'm doing my best to throw as many spells off as possible and keep them DoT'd up, but they just out DPS me every time.
[editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
I feel like I gotta work so hard throwing my Haunt out, then DoT'ing them up (Curse of Agony / Curse of Corruption / Affliction and if I feel like I have the time, Seed of Corruption), then I just Malefic Grasp with the occasional Shadowfury to stun.
But with the enemy, I feel like it's so easy for them. They just shoot me with a few spells and I've lost about 45% instantly, then from there they just take the remainder of my health with other powerful spells.
[editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
Changed my Talents around, and I just dinged 77 so I have Fel Flame which is an instant, 750 mana cast spell that does ~1,300 damage and increase the duration of Corruption and Agony.
Got Mortal Coil instead of Shadowfury (Shadowfury was pretty pointless), got Soul Link instead of Dark Bargain (2 minute cool down time, plus it'd keep me invulnerable for 8 seconds, but give the damage I received 50% back over 8 seconds) and I got Soul Leech (gives back 20% damage I do with Malefic Grasp, Haunt and Drain Soul, which is handy!). So I'm hoping now I'll be more of a match in PvP.
[editline]6th October 2012[/editline]
Just duked it out with a level 77 Monk (my level). I got him down to 37% but couldn't get him below that. I used a healthstone, a potion AND a bandage. I still fucking lost. I kept my DoTs on him, I threw a Haunt at him to increase damage of my DoTs, I Mortal Coiled him to fear him away, I then used Blood Fear every time it'd be available to keep him feared, then I just kept throwing Fel Flame at him but no luck. I died and he didn't seem to have any problem keeping healed up. What is it I'm doing wrong? I don't know. I throw everything I have at them and still fail miserably.
1. Don't use blood fear, it's terrible. Use the one that's basically a trinket with a 1 min cd
2. Play another spec until 90, aff is gear dependent (or at least it was)
3. Kite with curse of exhaustion and shadowflame (glyphed)
4. Save teleport until your enemy pops something like bladestorm or feral charge
5. Don't use soul link, it's nerfed as fuck. Use dark bargain.
6. Don't use soul leech, use dark regeneration. It's a nice heal and aff lock is starved for self heals nowadays, strangely.
Renamed my worgen druid neutered, also was thinking of a warrior tank name so went with dodgealot (hoping I can find a title that will give me 'Sir').
Also made an alt priest for future use called Healthpack.
I hate tanks so much right now... Get Scarlet Halls in random, pants don't drop from last boss, queue up for specific SH, pants drop and tank takes them "for offset". Queue randoms, 3 randoms in a row and 3 different tanks just randomly go afk until we kick them. What the fuck is this shit, I just wanna get my damn dps pants, stop queuing if you got shit to do.
Just re-sub'd goodbye sunlight.

It's even worse because they are fucking tanks and either get instant or 20 second tops queue times.
My least favorite are the tanks that go up to a mob, wait 10 seconds, pull, don't tank, and keep repeating this through the entire dungeon. I think they are on Facebook or something.
meh, mop questing isn't very fun so far, I'm about 2/3rds through jade forest
just feels the same as it has since vanilla, go here and get 20 bear asses and come back. I don't know why blizz make levelling intentionally a chore when they could just make it pretty snappy and to the point and instead make more (and better) endgame content

are you kidding me, questing to the level cap is faster and easier than ever
are you kidding me, questing to the level cap is faster and easier than ever
I'm only about half way to 86, so I dunno, I have maybe an hour and a half / 2 hours clocked at the moment I think. I'd say that's not that quick
Did you ever play vanilla?
[editline]7th October 2012[/editline]
Also the price of this xpac and the fact that no game time comes with it has been a deterrent for me... I don't think I'm going to buy. 40 dollars + an extra 15 just to play the content I just bought is too much. I would be content paying 40 for new content + game time, but having to buy them separately is really lame I think.
It's not that I don't have the money, it's just... ehh

Thanks for the tips man, I'll be sure to follow them. I guess I should go back to Demonology, it was the easiest for levelling. Just two curses then drain health and the mob is dead in no time, thanks to Felguard's powerful attacks.
I realized Soul Link got nerfed to shit. 50% of my pets health gone, and the effects are barely worth it. We both lose more health than we can heal, rather silly of me to get it, but I figured it was worth a try.
As for my Warlock, will he get better at PvP in later levels? I was really looking forward to hopping in battlegrounds at ~85-90 and just demolishing everyone in my path, like the old days when I used to. Will I have that to look forward to, or have Warlocks become a sub-par class?
The fuck is up with blood dks god damn, been leveling my dk and got to 89 and decided to go back to tanking again as frost gets a lil too boring for me.
Spent the dungeons being easily the top dps and not even so much as coming close to dying.
Nice too see that they still feel a bit op.

yeah, you're like level 74 or something, quit bitching. Have you even tried destruction?
it does get better at later levels. I frequently hop in battlegrounds and demolish, though I'm destruction, so I get to take out half a persons health with a chaos bolt so. every aff warlock i see in a BG usually ends up lower on the board, maybe they're just bad, idk.

yeah its great, excellent for complete scrubs who are new to the game (which I honestly don't mind).
for RAF do I just need to buy the battlechest (digitally w free month) or do I also need to buy time
i am the one being recruited and i just want the triple xp
kind of thinking about coming back to wow.
wish i didn't have to spend $40 on mop to try it out and see if i want to come back.
i'll probably just try out some of the 5.0 stuff then decide whether or not to buy the expansion.
Blizz should have like a trial for the exansion for returning players or something.

If I recall, the free month does not count, it's based on purchased months for the mount and free month. If that's what you're talking about at least.
Not quite, I am not the one getting rewards. I just want the triple xp with a friend.
Oh well you can enjoy that even through the trial if I recall, you'll just get to level 20 so fast and then you have to get the Battlechest anyway.
