i already get the XP bonus from being in a level 25 guild and I have 1600 gold on my priest (the level 68 dude)
is it even worth buying heirloom gear for the extra XP or should I save it for my paladin alt

I'd say wait for your alt since when you get higher lvl on your priest you can also buy heirloom gear with justice points.

Depends on damage really, Most BC raid bosses have 1.5-4m hp or so, The bosses arent very dangerous themselves, but adds are. Now I can't say exaclty how well it'd go but I have problems at 87 paladin to solo Gruuls lair because of first boss (there are like 6-7 mobs 600k hp each as first boss).

Recruit-a-friend, you get 1 level to grant every 2 levels.
So, you get x3 XP until you hit 80 then you can grant 40 levels to whatever characters you want.

so if I recruit a friend and I level my main/alts two levels I get one as a reward? I'm assuming I can only tie that to one alt as I could just make lots of low levels and give the levels to other alts.

It's for every two levels your [I]friend[/I] levels. So he'll be the one granting you levels. And you can likewise do the same. You can't grant yourself levels.
I'd do this if I could, but I got no one to play with, and anyone who is playing already has an account, so I can't refer them. It sucks.

I was in the same situation so I did RAF to myself, you can RAF yourself an account on the same email no problem, multiboxing is not illegal so I leveled myself a warlock and a priest to 80 in about 2 days just chaining instances then granted the levels of my priest to my warrior and DK.
Now I just need the money to transfer my Priest to my main account and I'll have nearly all the classes at a minimum of level 80.
Also jesus fuck, warriors bringing my Hpally in full PVP gear from 100-0 in a single stun.

RAF'ing myself? Having to pay $14.99 for a second account will just be a pain in the ass. Then I'll have to dish out another $15 to transfer the toon to my main account. I'll be spending a lot of money for it, but I guess it'd be worth it. Multiboxing, I'd just make the alt follow my main whilst I quest, yeah?

I just set my second guy on follow and chained instances, sometimes people didn't give a shit, sometimes people gave a shit so at first I was alt tabbing furiously to DPS with both but at the end I just set up simple macros with Hotkeynet where F3 follows/assist focus (My main guy) and F2 attacks on my second guy and F1 just attacks on my first guy.
After replaying WCIII I renewed my love for shamans, something cool about being a warrior with magic.
Also been getting tier set for my shaman for both specs from random dungeons in MOP, I'm starting to think they've nerfed JP gains from dungeons because I've only earned about 160 JP from 2 MOP ones.
