Attention citizens of Facepunch! There's an important official update on the situation straight from Peter (Pete) König himself as posted on his website! http://www.peterhkonig.com/ I think the important message to take away from all this is that Gabe can and will murder you if you displease him.
Knowing Gabe, he'd probably have a mighty fine proposition for silence.
You think he has those knives just to look at? Fat chance.
he also polishes them thank you very much
he also polishes them thank you very much
Polishes them after ELIMINATING THOSE WHO SPEAK.
Gabe has recently talked about the "SoB" game during the 4chan /v/ birthday visit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=_Fl4s9T79n0#t=2892s It was named Stars of Blood (SoB) and was a space pirate game that never saw the light of day. Oh well. Guess that ends this thread then. :v:
What is this game even?
What is this game even?
Something like Wing Commander: Privateer, maybe? There's more information on ValveTime. By the way, there was also "Seas of Blood" trademark, registered (by a Valve developer) back in 2003.
How is my above post dumb? Do any of you know what the game IS? What roll do ships play? How do you play your character? For all you know.. the game could be like pandemic, but in space. Or it could be a highly linear first person shooter with ships and futuristic cities in the backdrop.

I can just imagine a Stars of Blood / Prospero fanfic where they meet in a singles bar after having suffered Gabe's rejection. [sp]And then in walks The Crossing.[/sp]

Day of defeat and l4d stoned in the corner. Wanting weed but never finding it...
Meanwhile, Postal 3 is completely piss-drunk, furious and attempting to pick fights with everyone, all while swearing in Russian.
Portal and Team Fortress are dragging Half-Life out like that scene in Blue Shift.
Opposing Force was taking a piss and saw a phone number scribbled on a wall that said "Good BJs" underneath. Opposing Force as pretty desperate. When he dialed the number Team Fortress Classic answered and then things got awkward.
Ya see, ages ago I remember Valve talking about games being funded by the fans, they would pay down some money to fund the development and get the game for free/discounted as a result. This was talked about before the recent rise of kickstater projects, but it got me thinking, SoB would make for an excellent opportunity for Valve to field test this idea. Yes they scrapped it but if enough people were to show genuine interest to the point that they would help fund it then it's not outside the realms of plausibility that it might happen. Wishful thinking yes... but doing nothing never got you anywhere.
With the continuing flow of money from steam. Valve essentialy have infinite money and don't need us. They should be capable of making ANY game in any speed. All they need to do is gain DIRECTION.
Valve essentialy has* infinite money and doesn't* need us.
you sure do know how businesses work
So wait, is Return to Ravenholm with The Crossing? [sp]They were both Arkane/Valve things, it's funny, see?[/sp]
Gabe is cool
I precisely needed to appreciate you once more. I'm not certain what I would have gone through without the entire cheap uggs recommendations contributed by you directly on this area.uggs on sale uggs ,It had become a real challenging circumstance in my view, but seeing this expert mode you resolved it forced me to weep over delight. I'm happier for the service and even believe you really know what an amazing job you were undertaking uggs uk teaching uggs people today thru a web site. Probably you haven't met any of us. (User was permabanned for this post ("Spam" - Autumn))
Oh look it's this thread again... I was digging through some Valve artist's sites and found what seems to be some more SoB concept art, even if the game is cancelled it's still mildly interesting. When it was said that the game got cancelled, I've read so many comments from users on gaming sites which said that Valve scrapped it because they feared Roberts Star Citizen. And that they have forgotten how to develop games. Pretty funny actually, since they already scrapped it longer than 11 months before Star Citizen was announced. Still, I really want to know why they scrapped it.
