Kraken, Behemoth, Leviathan, Jormungandr, Moloch, Colossus, Tiamet, Ophidia, and Hydra. Way more than 3.
I apologize, I only remember hearing about Kraken, Behemoth, and Leviathan. Regardless, the Tyranids are probably the most dangerous and efficient killers in the 40k universe. Unlike Chaos, the Eldar, and so forth, the only way for them not to be a threat is if they aren't actually in the galaxy, full stop. Even if they lose countless numbers, as long as they have a way of extracting biomass, they could consume planets to double their numbers. Not to mention their ability to "evolve" on a planet-to-planet basis. Its just very interesting that there could be something even worse then these monsters. I hope they do continue with it. I get most of my information from the Lexicanum wiki, so I really don't know if its up to date or not.

There are loads of possible "extreme" foes, Tyranids aren't the only ones.
I always wondered what the Tyranids could be running away from. The race they are running from can't be organic based, or require organic substances for nourishment. In that same vein, the race can't be cybernetic (Necrons got that) or non-corporeal (Chaos.) My thoughts are it might be silicon based lifeforms, which aren't too unbelievable compared to the other races out there, would explain why the Tyranids can't kill them, and would be interesting to play as from a tabletop/game perspective. Or Games Workshop will just give us another non-corporeal race/cybernetics race. The fact of the matter is, if they're going to ever explain whatever is scaring the Tyranids shitless, the race can't be based on anything that the Tyranids can use to their advantage.

My thoughts is it will be a crystalline based lifeform, or something similar to Golems, only far more nasty (Silicon-based lifeforms, anyone?) Or Games Workshop will just give us another non-corporeal race/cybernetics race. It could be something else from the warp, or heck it could be what the Chaos gods are focusing on (since it seems they haven't been caring about this galaxy since the heresy, maybe they are cooking up something huge).
That's insane. There have been only what? 3 Hives in the 40k galaxy? And each time they invaded, they almost destroyed the entire galaxy in the process. What the fuck could possibly be so dangerous that they would make something that horrifying flee?
The advancement of the plot.
Honestly my ideal 40k game would be Star Wars Battlefront deal, much more indepth. Epic battles with 500 units on screen at a time if possible. Vehicles for each army etc. etc. Seriously make a 40k game based on the Battlefront games and you've got gold.
I jizzed just by reading and imagining that.
I don't think 40K needs a fearsome race of murderous breast implants.
Could be a race of amorphous blob-things with a hive-mind just like the tyranids, things that go into the blob are just lost and slowly dissolved, but you can't fluff it up beyond that.
I like the breast idea more.
So the tyranids are running away from a giant tit's leaking implant? I like the idea.
"THQ THQ @Sam - We hear you, and if the demand is there we will look at this." Feel free to look at my facebook, I don't care. But they said if theres a demand for a PC version they will look at it. We need to be heard [editline]01:25AM[/editline] Fuck, I feel happy now. Theres a chance of a PC version. Come on guys, we can get this done [editline]01:52AM[/editline] You better not disappoint me or the whole 40k community. LET THEM KNOW WE WANT THE GAME FOR PC! [editline]01:52AM[/editline] Arrghgh!!
I still find it unlikely that something is chasing the Tyranids. They just want to eat the whole galaxy and be happy.

Because that is pretty much the only way to show interest in a PC version (or maybe bombard them with emails).
The advancement of the plot.
Don't be silly we need another decade of "So what's happening in the storyline" "Nothing, absolutely nothing"
Could this be one of the few times where a petition would actually do something? Because that is pretty much the only way to show interest in a PC version (or maybe bombard them with emails).
Well if you think about it, most of their hardcore following I would imagine are PC Gamers. But it depends on what they do with the MMO and Space Marine. It's just an odd thing with them juggling the two projects when both work so well on certain hardware. If that makes sense at all.
why is it only 1:17 long, I WANT MORE AWESOMENES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mustard Marines, making Astartes hot dogs delicious since the Great Crusade.
Just to get in the spirit I bought Assault on Black Reach today. Anyone have any good ideas for adding units? I heard about a local trade show they do every month or so at a GW around here, but I figure there's more than just that.
Warhammer 40000 has the most badass art pictures ever. [editline]04:45PM[/editline] Holy shit.
^ That looks awesome, but....that shits permanent. Imagine it when he's like 70 years old. All saggy and faded. Ew.

FFFFFFuck the new race, I just want them to fucking advance the plot. I heard they will release a plot advancement update around the same time when Duke Nukem Forever is released
Warhammer 40000 has the most badass art pictures ever.
Yeah it definitely does. Never have I seen such badass art elsewhere.
Someone make a petition
I would totally start this board game although there is no fucking Gamesworkshop around, the nearest one is like 200 km away. And I don't know any person who plays this game. Painting alone is that much fun, then actually playing it.
You could always Download Vassal and find the 40K module ofr that (imo best one is 5.2 or 5.2b versions) and play it online against someone.
Console exclusive :sigh:
