naomi gave him the original that mutated then drebin injects him with the new one. if you press X at a certain point in the big boss final scene it will show the scene where drebin injects snake with "nanomachine inhibitors". i was reminded of this by watching the videos.
Peace Walker feels odd. The story keeps flowing but it's chopped up by "Mission Complete" screens. Also fun is how the game urges you to "Hurry and rescue some important character before it's too late"... "okay, I'll just manage my base and do some target shooting"

There are parts where they push urgency, yet I took my sweet time and nothing happened. It's very weird that they would put something so unnecessary in a MGS game.
i bought the collection a few months ago because, you know, mgs is considered a classic of the medium and i felt i ought to play it i started mgs2 and got to somewhere early in raiden's arc and just quit. the gameplay is dull, the story is dull, the characters aren't terribly compelling (especially raiden), and i just wasn't enjoying watching a few thousand hours of cutscenes where nothing happens. does it get better, or is this just not the series for me? [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] oh yes, and the controls suck. i guess i've been spoiled by more modern stealth games but christ they're terrible. the way the camera switches when you sidle up to a wall, but the controls stay relative to the previous camera angle... it's just blahsdhjuawgdj. and this is coming from someone who thinks resident evil has the best controls ever.
mgs 3 literally makes everything better peace walker is fun as well mgs 2 isn't terrible but i find it isn't nearly as great as the others
does it get better, or is this just not the series for me?
Play 3. Everything will be ok again.
i third that. [editline]4th March 2012[/editline] i don't know if that's an unintentional pun or what....
Can't wait for my HD MGS3.
the fact that it is a psp game is why if you played it on psp, you'd know why they had to break it up (portable gaming basically requires that you have small missions so people can play for a few minutes, and get back to what they were doing)
I know it was on PSP, yes. I try to ignore the pauses to keep the story going, but I always end up on Mother Base shifting around my troops and developing spicy noodles and shit
Boy oh boy is collecting dog tags fucking tedious! Finished the tanker yesterday, I've got all tags on Hard, half on normal from first playthrough, and half right now on easy for the Plant.

The gameplay for me is increadibly nice, and should be even more complicated if that meant allowing us to do even more actions, kinda like MGS4. Only Raiden gets me on my nerves a bit, which is good. His crybaby rookie attitude is supposed to be the way it is, even though I think I shouldn't get mad at it... What really SELLS the game to me are the Substance missions with Ninja Raiden. I've done some of them deflecting every bullet shot at me and slicing up all the bastards.
Just beat The End with just my fists. Ran out of tranq darts, who needs em ey.
Just beat The End with just my fists. Ran out of tranq darts, who needs em ey.
Well that's fucking Boss!
Best metal gear solid game. They should make the 5th one the same type.
Rumors are you'll be playing The Boss during WWII. A dream coming true. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] Also, FUCK THAT CAVE.
Goddamn Peace Walker Type 2 extra op, All my rage (Which is actually me just moaning angrily and returning to the mission select menu)
Damn. Didn't remember that MGS 3 would get that emotional in the end. That was manly tears territory.
I love MGS3 with a passion most men reserve for family members. I love the ending, the game is all like "Oh, I'm snake crossed with James Bond, tee hee!" and the ending is like "Why can't I stop crying Hideo? Why?"
I find it funny how MGS3 is so incredible it makes MGS2 look like a piece of shit.
I don't believe in "scores" for video games.
Anyone on PSN got any S rank chef's they're willing to part with? My mess hall is at 79 and everything else is 99. I must 99 it as well. I can give several S rank soldiers and R&D and Intel if you want.
Just finished Mgs2 and I think its a solid/fun game and a masterpiece manipulation by Hideo Kojima. Playing Mgs3 now and I don't know why, but I can't seem to 'freeze' the enemies in the virtuose mission. Walking up to them with the d-pad and then pointing my weapon at them, they don't even react to it. I forgot how much Snake Eater added to the gameplay, damn I will have a good time with this. Nvm got the hold up.
I just completed MGS2 story, probably the fourth time I have done or something. I forgot how much of a mind fuck the ending is. I'm still not quite sure what happened.
I didn't really find MGS2 to be a mindfuck. Ok, thats unfair, because I played the others before I played 2 (due to my searing dislike of Raiden). If I played it back in '01, It would have skullfucked me.
I can't get past [sp]Strangelove's torture scene[/sp] in Peace Walker. I CAN'T TAP FAST ENOUGH. :( Anyways, I bought this collection solely for MGS3 since I never got the chance to play it (I have never owned a PS2. I know, that's awful. I apologize.) It was so worth it.
heres how to beat it place your thumb on the bottom of your index finger and hold down the controller with the other hand then repeatedly twitch your finger into the triangle button if you do this you'll win
That's a bit more useful than my friend telling me to "use a spoon", thanks. I'll give it a shot later. I never had any problems with the scenes in MGS1, 2, or 3, but for some reason this one is kicking my ass.
Ffffuuucckkkk Yooouuuu [sp]Chrysalis[/sp]
Ffffuuucckkkk Yooouuuu [sp]Chrysalis[/sp]
[sp]Is that the fight that takes place in the foggy area?[/sp]
[sp] Yep. It's the flying AI weapon[/sp]
I'm still confused as fuck. From what I remember in MGS4, Liquid said he was Liquid inside of Ocelot's body, but it turns out that he lied and he's actually Ocelot pretending to be Liquid inside of Ocelot's body. Is this right, or not?
uhh, spoilers? and [sp]yes that is true[/sp]
