The ending was really awesome, my eyes were all watery at one point. MGS 4 is definitely one of the best games I've ever played.
The ending of MGS4 is fucking fantastic. Easily my favorite MGS boss fight too.
It's really amazing how they added such different mechanics to certain parts of the game, most notably the mech section in Chapter 4 and the final boss.
I fucking love the fight between Liquid and Snake in MGS4.
Imagine the perspective of potential onlookers. Seeing two old guys whailing at each other. I'm sure the fight we see is just how Snake and Liquid feel, and not how it actually looks. [sp]jk Snake and Liquid are the most badass people on the planet why would they let some puny little age affect them[/sp]
considering the one thing that gave snake enough of an edge so he wasn't an old man on the battlefield, was fuckin microwaved before the fight... well snake is a total fucking badass. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
My mom is a seamstress and could embroider a fox patch for me (and possibly you!) but she said she wouldn't be comfortable making military insignias ;(
who's mother isn't a seamstress. but what do you mean? like your mom could actually make the badge or simply sew it on? either way i could just get a tattoo of it. it's not overtly some nerdy gaming symbol, in fact on its own the fox unit insignia is a pretty cool looking design. best of all i'm willing to bet anyone who gets to see it either doesn't know about MGS at all and will think it looks cool... or somehow i've found a fuckable MGS fan.
I've always thought of the getting the Foxhound emblem tattooed somewhere on me. Fox emblem is cool, but I like the Foxhound emblem way better. I wouldn't recommend getting a Big Boss portrait though, as onlookers will scream and cower in fear from the mere sight of him. Would cause problems talking to friends and shit.
the problem with the foxhound emblem is that it gives away to much. it has wording on it. now if you simply had the fox with the knife in his mouth i'd say that's passable. it's all about making the tat as vague as possible to its origins. think about it like this. what would be cooler. a simple tattoo of wheatly's sphere glaring at you, or the same tat but with a quote underneath it. in my book if you're going to get a nerdy tattoo you should make it as nondescript as possible so only true fans would know it's even from a video game. everyone else just thinks its some cool design.

You definitely have opened my eyes to a different way of being a fan of things. I like it.

I don't want Adam Jensen and DEUS EX written in gigantic letters. I do like Rockstar Games' T-shirts with the 'R' though.

Don't get your hopes up, it won't happen most probably.
i could either find one or find someone who could make one for me pretty easy. either way i'd rather go with a tattoo of it than put a button on one of my coats. and even then i'm not exactly partial to getting a tattoo any time soon
don't get a tattoo unless that style fits you i've seen enough lanky pale nerds with video game tattoos to let you possibly make the same mistake
So who else here is actually genuinely looking forwards to Revengeance?
honestly it looks like another devil may cry clone... how could anyone honestly call zone of the enders a mech game, lol.
I'm looking forward to it just to cut stuff
honestly it looks like another devil may cry clone... how could anyone honestly call zone of the enders a mech game, lol.
because you pilot a mech and you fight mechs???
So who else here is actually genuinely looking forwards to Revengeance?
Personally I can't come to a consensus on it. I pretty much just have to play it. Or hopefully if they release a public demo, instead of just keeping it exclusive to the ZOE collection, then maybe I could get a better idea if I like it or not. It doesn't bother me that the story isn't canon and yadi yadi ya, I care more about the gameplay. It seems to be action oriented, but I think that's ok. As long as it gives me a unique Metal Gear Solid type of experience, I'll probably be happy.

As far as i know, the AC!D games, Ghost Babel, and Snakes Revenge are the only non-canon ones.
How the FUCK do I beat The Boss? I can barely shoot at her, and I can't figure out how to break her grapples. It just seems to happen. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] Nevermind beat her
Equip snow camo, hide in the flowers.
It's just really disorienting that you can't really control the camera.
I thought it was canon. As far as i know, the AC!D games, Ghost Babel, and Snakes Revenge are the only non-canon ones.
They're saying it's canon but it really, really doesn't deserve to be. It's literally just using the events of MGS4 as an excuse to have constant OTT mechs and tech that's way too far out even for MG.

items that you acquire by completing the game i.e. the patriot or the stealth camo or the e.z. gun.
Oh, well I don't really plan on playing through it again. But I did get the Patriot, camera, and a tuxedo camo.
I thought it was canon. But since it's considered a spin-off, it seems it won't be canon. But That's more of feeling, not any cold hard fact I read. I'm remembering now there was a discussion on this earlier in the thread, but I don't recall if it was found out if it is indeed canon. Also, I decided to give PW another try last week, and boy has it grown on me. I still have issues with the game, but it's still pretty interesting and fun.
