I never noticed the implication here in MGS2.
When Snake told me to test out the HF blade, I thought he meant on him and he wouldn't take damage. I ended up slashing him up a lot and he shot me several times. We went into the next battle missing a lot of health

Recently started playing the MGS Series, I got the HD Collection and have finished MGS 3 and Peace Walker so far, just started Sons of Liberty, loving the series.
PS: Can't wait for Ground Zeroes!!

Make sure you play MGS1 too. You can get it on the ps3 shop.

It doesn't really matter in the end.
To me, Otacon was that nerdy bro, sure he was irritating now and again, but he always came through for you.
And anyway, during the time he's known Snake [sp]two of his love intrests have died, along with his sister[/sp], and now he suddenly found himself with an adoptive daughter. Yet through all this, he never blames Snake and keeps doing his sciency things.
