I hope they'll sell the ost for mgr. It seems like it would be pretty good.
Google Translated Inaba's bio since I understand about diddly squat about Japanese:
"I do the producer of the game company called Platinum Games"
AHAH
I guarantee that MGR will end with Raiden having the exact same resolution that he had at the end of MGS2, only rehashed. The thing that annoys me the most about post-MGS2 Raiden is that everything that he does completely contradicts the development of his character. The point of Raiden is that he's a loser who wants to be someone he isn't, and he realises that at the end of MGS2. To turn him into a badass cyborg ninja completely devalues one of the central messages of MGS2. That said, Rising looks damn fun and I can't wait to play it.

Well he kinda destroys a couple of dozen metal gear single handedly and stops the terrorists in mgs 2 so it really isn't that big of a stretch to mgs 4.
edit: what i remember is that snake only tells raiden to go home and live good but raiden goes "NO that's not edgy enough at all"

Not really.
You dont just FORGET being a child soldier, learning the world you've been living in is a lie, and that your life is tied to an infant and if you die, they die.
I personally hope we find out what happened to Snake, as in whether he died or is still alive. But if he aged that quickly i'd hate to see what another four years would have done to him, if not kill him.
he's most likely dead.

although hideo did say he wasn't done with solid yet so we might see a prequel/remake in some years???

Only time can tell.
I personally hope that even if he is dead we find out what he did before.

Given that his life is tied to an infant, wouldn't it then make more sense to pursue a peaceful life instead of going on a murderous rampage akin to MGS4 and Rising? Also, as far as I remember, his dying wouldn't affect Sunny by the time MGS4 is set.

everything about solid was already told through codecs and documents so unless hideo works with the materials he already has he has to retcon
During the World Tour Launch Party 2013 some new details on the DLC plans for Metal Gear Rising in Japan were announced. Information was provided on three batches of DLC. The first will include 30 new VR missions. Aside from that, the player will receive a special weapon: a wooden sword that is infused with Solid Snake’s soul, and is aptly named the Soul Snake Wooden Sword. Snake’s voice (by Akio Otsuka) will even sound if you swing it (this is the reason the voice actor was at the event today). This DLC pack will be released in April of this year, for a price of 300 yen.
The other two DLC packs will explore the past of the LQ-84i and Sam, but that’s all the information there is on those right now.
KOJIMAAAAAA.
I can only imagine, solid snake on his deathbed, all of a sudden otacon just whips out baron samedi from the mk. III and starts a satanic voodoo ritual to put snake in a kendo stick.
Afterwards he hands it to raiden.

We know very little of what he did inbetween the 70's up until MG2.

Besides be an infant, grow up in the military, and be in the Green Berets and CIA.

he was in foxhound, trained under master miller, big boss taught him cqc, then mg happened. he went into early retirement, joined the cia for six months, and then became a mercenary and then after he earned a bit of money went into semi-retirement in the canadian wilderness for 4 years while having ptsd, then mg2 happens.

Compared to the rest of the series, thats pretty vague.
[editline]13th February 2013[/editline]
Also, where did they mention the canadian wilderness thing?
the manual for mg2
unless there is some nanomachine shit going on solid snake is most likely dead. at the end of mgs4 you hear otacon say he has 6 months to live.

That contradicts the "happy-ending" idea with the FOXDIE in him disappearing. The old age stuff was caused by that. I know what you're saying is true but I'm staying optimistic that he would live on for longer.

no he's dead because he was designed from the very start to have rapid aging
I think the bioweapon scare is gone but he's still pretty damn old.
The new strain of foxdie only prevented him turning into a biological weapon. He was still aging at an increased rate and only had about a year or so at the end of MGS4.

Naomi said that, and then changed her mind, and then changed her mind again.
But to be perfectly honest, has Naomi ever led us astray?
unless there is some nanomachine shit going on solid snake is most likely dead. at the end of mgs4 you hear otacon say he has 6 months to live.
No you dont.
The whole "6 months to live thing" was about FoxDie turning into a biological weapon.
Also, Otacon never mentioned that ever.

Theres something funny i noticed.
In one of the MGR Trailers, it confirms that Solidus was aged to be as old as big boss even in his teens:

And he remained the same age even until 2009.
(the civil war/small boy unit stuff was in the 80's, btw)
Oh god, what kind of stuff will he say?
And before you say it, this had to have been somewhat canon before MGR too, since he would've been in his teens anyway. (born in 1972)
Given that his life is tied to an infant, wouldn't it then make more sense to pursue a peaceful life instead of going on a murderous rampage akin to MGS4 and Rising? Also, as far as I remember, his dying wouldn't affect Sunny by the time MGS4 is set.
Well he kind of was trying to live a peaceful life till the president he was protecting was killed and he was brutally maimed and thrown off a train.
