I should really stop reading threads about MGS having only played snake eater.
If you started with Snake Eater, its best to play them in chronological order.
MGS3-MPO-MGS:PW-MG1-MG2-MGS-MGS2-MGS4-MGR:R
They need to do like a collection of the MG games, i'd literaly buy it in a heartbeat.

Then buy MGS 1 from the Psn and you are set.
Right.
Ah forgot MGS 4, but it is around 20€.
I bought 3 then 1 then 2. Should of bought the HD collection.

did that picture really just call snake eater a rambo clone?
MGS2 has great storytelling and all, it's just the actual experience of everything can be fairly dull. Big Shell just wasn't a very interesting place.
It wasn't that big shell was uninteresting, it's that it was getting to be a real pain in the ass having to run back to strut F every time I needed a new weapon which I only found out after I already ran through it to get to where I needed to go
Everything i hear about MGR makes me glad i pre-ordered it.
Well, that and i get this too:

[sub][sub][sub]And a Yoji Shinkawa artbook that im genuinely interested in because im interested in drawing and i love his artstyle, but im sure thats not as interesting as Gray Fox.[/sub][/sub][/sub]
My only regret is that Grey Fox is a Gamestop exclusive over here and I already pre-ordered with Best Buy.
Fuck.
How do preorders work for gamestop? Do they have the codes and artbook in the box or what?
How do preorders work for gamestop? Do they have the codes and artbook in the box or what?
The codes are usually printed on the receipt, the artbook is most likely in a box that comes with the game.
Edit: Removed due to copyright claim by Konami
Doesn't the game come out on like the 19th? The fuck.
Heh, Konami took down the first video slower than I thought.
Edit: Woop, there goes the second one. GG Konami
What was it

To be fair, when you fire the machine gun for a few seconds Snake starts screaming.
So, I've tried to play the MGR:R demo on two separate occasions, and I have a major gripe with it. How the fuck are you supposed to parry?
It keeps telling me to, I even google it to work out what you are exactly supposed to do, almost every time I end up standing there like a idiot and get twatted in the face.
I feel this game might have a lot going for it but it sort of feels like it's going to be let down by a dodgy parry system.

Doesn't he do that in every game?
Doesn't he do that in every game?
They didn't have LMGs until MGS3 I think.
It is a different protagonist after all.
I think MGS 3 is really fucking fantastic, because it does not try to be a "Oh you silly player, you are not allowed to have fun, you have to learn something" game.
Great game with a nice little story and very good sneaking gameplay.

Which demo are you playing? The ZOE enders demo is a bit harder to parry in but for the one on XBL and PSN the way to parry is by pressing X and pushing the left analog stick in the directing the attack is coming from.

I'm playing the the XBL version, and that exactly what I'm doing every time a the enemy has that red flash on them.
It only seems to work 10% of the time I try and do it, I must be doing something wrong or some shit, but it's really putting me off the game. I can't even complete the demo.
I found the parry system to be great and intuitive, it makes it flow into a combo really easily, you can be doing light attacks and then flick the stick to block in the middle of it, which is of great help to the demo boss.
