New trailer. [sp]1:18 :V[/sp]
Sexy hologram.
from the demo the only thing i didn't like was how everything disappears... i'd like it a lot better if something i just literally slashed to bits stayed there coagulating in the sun.

also i hate president's day... really any day the mail doesn't come. my copy shipped the 16th.... but due to the fact that the past 2 days haven't been business days no mail comes. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline]
That would murder the fps though.
gotta admit exploding/disappearing enemies is a bit lame, especially when you can make awesome corpses.
From that trailer and other gameplay videos ive seen, it looks like corpses/objects stay longer or they managed to fix whatever was causing the slow-down (like removing pieces once they got too small) Dont quote me on that though. Hopefully its true. [editline]18th February 2013[/editline]
Sexy hologram.
Its a model from MGO.
The game still slows down sometimes when you're going crazy in Blade Mode making mince meat out of people. And the final boss was really, REALLY lame. Especially after the fights that come before it.
so how long/replayable is the game? i'll probably get it tomorrow
My recorded playthrough is about around five hours (that's with all the cutscenes and such), as far as replayability goes, you unlock titles depending on your performance during the main story, so I guess you could play it over and over trying to get all the titles, similar to the other games in the series.

It doesnt count retries.
Is that your actual playtime though? It doesnt count retries.
It's the approximate length of all the parts in my playthrough put together, retries have been cut out since no one wants to see somebody fail on a boss fight fifteen times, but I wouldn't count retries in the total playtime anyway.

That endgame time sure is misleading :v:
If an average person were to GENEROUSLY apply any retry time to that total, I'd say around 6 hours maybe on Normal difficulty.
If an average person were to GENEROUSLY apply any retry time to that total, I'd say around 6 hours maybe on Normal difficulty.
How much would you say it'd take on Hard? Cause im gonna start on Hard.
How much would you say it'd take on Hard? Cause im gonna start on Hard.
Depends on how good you are at the genre? If you're used to playing stuff like Devil May Cry and other similar games on harder difficulties, then I'd say maybe around the same time, around an hour longer perhaps? I also found it incredibly hard to actually die on Normal against enemies, there are plenty of ration-like autorestoring items scattered throughout the levels, and boss fights also tend to drop them when objects in the fight arena are destroyed. Oh, and if you're REALLY being overwhelmed, Ripper Mode is always there for you to be able to completely DEMOLISH a group of enemies in a very short amount of time. Not to mention that you get plenty of upgrade points to increase your Life and Energy Cells. I was actually able to max out my life in my first playthrough.
Hold on. Five hours for your play time? What difficulty? Because, unless you missed a lot of content (hidden stuff in the levels, etc.) or skipped cutscenes or codec calls, that seems quite low (say by around a couple of hours).
Hold on. Five hours for your play time? What difficulty? Because, unless you missed a lot of content or skipped cutscenes or codec calls, that seems quite low.
I did not skip cutscenes, nor any mandatory codec calls.
The total time doesn't record the cutscenes anyway so it's at least 5 hours of actual playing.
I did not skip cutscenes, nor any mandatory codec calls.
So, you missed finding a good number of items then? The bonus and optional fights at certain parts?
So, you missed finding a good number of items then? The bonus and optional fights at certain parts?
I've posted the difficulty in my previous posts, Normal difficulty. As far as optional fights and bonus fights, I did whatever I could actually find for the most part.
I've posted the difficulty in my previous posts, Normal difficulty. As far as optional fights and bonus fights, I did whatever I could actually find for the most part.
Hm, alright then. Still sounds a bit low but maybe you're just better than I am at the game.
Its actually average for a metal gear game. You wouldnt believe how much of the total playtime at the end of the game is made up of cutscenes and codec calls.
so far metal gear rising is awesome. the boss battles so far are amazing.
I can't wait until i gather enough money to buy this sometime in 2047.
right now i'm stuck on the part where [sp]you play as the dwarf gekko[/sp] i don't know what the fuck to do.
right now i'm stuck on the part where [sp]you play as the dwarf gekko[/sp] i don't know what the fuck to do.
[sp]Go up the stairs to the upper catwalk and walk until you see something resembling a window on the left, jump into the opening which will lead into a server room of sorts.[/sp]
Gamestop clerks are weird. Got my preorder and the guy said "30% cash back if you return it in a few days... which I'm sure you'll do as that game is garbage."
Gamestop clerks are weird. Got my preorder and the guy said "30% cash back if you return it in a few days... which I'm sure you'll do as that game is garbage."
What a fucking asshole. I hate it when people do this. "thanks for buying the product, now fuck off"
