Is MGS3D worth the 40 dollars? I've never played MGS3 before, and the portability looks nice as long as no content is cut.
It's ok. It plays like peace walker on handhelds. There's a lot of framerate issues though.
Is MGS3D worth the 40 dollars? But if you own a 360 or a PS3 just by the MGS HD collection, really, its 5 games for like $30 and they're all pretty great (iffy on MG1, though)
So, I just got to the final boss. [sp]It feels like all sense of seriousness and Metal Gear went flying out the window.[/sp]
so im about 3/4ths through the game and im getting better and better at parrying. i can parry red attacks alright, but... whats the deal with yellow attacks? hammer dudes wreck my shit no matter what, and gorilla dudes hug me even for a split second. all i can do is avoid them which really breaks my flow. is there a magic dodge i'm missing?
light attack + jump + joystick to dodge in a specific direction without breaking the flow.
thanks! ill probably end up replaying chapters to train this. i kind of wanted to do that anyway after i figured out how to ACTUALLY parry and not keep accidentally parrying. i thought it was tilt the control stick in the enemy's direction and THEN light attack, but it seems i only have luck when im hitting both at the same time sort of like a smash bros smash attack. for counter counter counter counter counter parries, my tv room just emits the sound of the loudest controller clacking ever.

It's not at the same time, but one after the other really quick. I just started the game an hour ago, and breezed through it up to Blade Wolf. I quickly realized that my mindless attacking that had worked all the way to that point was no longer going to work. It took me one go against him to master parrying. Once I got the motion down, I put him down without taking any damage at all. Now, from what I have seen, parry seems to be stupidly broken because nothing can hurt me anymore. I'm sure I'll get to the point where it won't be so OP, but right now it's kind of lol. I have the Grey Fox pre-order thing, is it worth it to use? I've just kind of ignored it so far.

And his sword is apparently powerful, so its probably the only thing that can keep you alive if you want to start the game out on Very Hard or Revengeance difficulty. [sp]by using the Konami Code[/sp]
Fox Blade. [editline]20th February 2013[/editline] Gotta love OP Pre-Orders
well, i would love to use that but......my code isn't valid. i'm about to take a shit at gamestop's front door.
I have the Grey Fox pre-order thing, is it worth it to use? I've just kind of ignored it so far.
gray fox skin is beautiful, but doesnt show in cut-scenes. not sure if any skins do. his sword is super powerful and can be upgraded but costs 200k BP to buy.
Just beat it. Last boss took me 3 tries unfortunately. Almost one shotted every boss. How'd I do? [t]http://i.imgur.com/Yh4AHZe.jpg[/t]
How did you afford the Fox Blade? Ive probably only collected around 150,000 total and I've replayed chapters several times.
i dont understand how you "one shotted" every boss? is that like, one slice and they moved on to the next phase of the battle, or?
i dont understand how you "one shotted" every boss? is that like, one slice and they moved on to the next phase of the battle, or?
I just mean beating a boss without dying or using recovery items.
I never learned to parry lol I just run around them and slice them.
[sp]the final boss is a son of a bitch! when he throw's that rock at you, 90% of the time you'll fuck up. it's so dumb. trial and error bullshit. I enjoyed fighting every boss except the final one. it really killed the game.[/sp]
Final boss fight is the best one anyone who complains sucks at video games. [sp]Seriously you don't even have to cut down the line on the rocks, just give it the vague line it wants and your good[/sp]

I just lined up the cut and pressed triangle or square. Although the rest of the fight was a pain in the ass, until I figured out his moveset.[/sp]
Platinum have revealed more information on the Metal Gear Rising VR Missions DLC via the latest Development Blog. In Latin America and Europe, the DLC will be available for the Xbox 360 as well. The first DLC will be available for download in early April. Price 300 yen or $3.
Neat.
3$ for that doesn't sound too bad.
I wonder how Snake's funeral was....he probably died in a very depressing, painful, undignified manner. :( On a different note, I was really surprised to find out how much skill I've lost from taking such long breaks from MGS4. MGO really helped me. I'm at the Blast furnace section of Shadow Moses, and I can't believe how many times I've gone in to Alert Mode from some Gekko or Sentry spotting/hearing me. Back when I played the hell out of the game, I was so good. I never got the Foxhound or Big Boss emblem because I had to still work on my speed, but I had the stealth part down so well. Now I'm amazed that I've gone this far without Alerts with so little trouble. I got the Stealth camo once before, so it wasn't a foreign thing to me to go without alerts, but I guess since I only got back in to it when the trophy patch came, I had gone so long without keeping my skills up that it's like I'm relearning the game.
I hope there's a cooking-mama style DLC where you cook eggs with sunny.
How are the Vita ports of MGS2 and MGS3?
I wonder how Snake's funeral was....he probably died in a very depressing, painful, undignified manner. :(
I have yet to play MGR (pre-ordered, havent picked it up yet) and i dont know if that game will confirm anything or not, but i noticed that Solidus remained the same age from the flashback commercials for Rising and to MGS2, after artificially aging. He was born in 1972 and he looked the same in 2005-2009 so it existed back in MGS2 canon too.
How are the Vita ports of MGS2 and MGS3?
They're okay. They don't run at the Vita's full resolution, so they're blurry and not that crisp. Cool to have on the go, though the lack of R2 and L2 means you have to use the touchscreen to scroll through items. Also, I think it's the only version of MGS3 HD that has the corrected intro. On the console version, Snake Eater is out of sync with the intro.

If that doesn't point to him dying, what does? [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] Perhaps someone stole his Mojo Doesn't sound that off for Metal Gear. Bad guy steals Snake's Mojo and puts it in a sword, Raiden has to get it back. C'mon Konami I am practically writing you money here
After 2 hours of trying... I BEAT THE GAME!
Playing revengeance difficulty has completely devastated any confidence I had in being good at this game.

Rising is kinda easy. Did the game on hard and last boss only took 2 attempts as I messed up. Very hard is kinda underwhelming so far also, just downed Monsoon. parry is way too forgiving along with slash dodge. the boss themes are their stories right too or am I just being retarded? LQ-84. there's no choice but take orders, to attack, locked up in chains.
