The first time I did the fight, I didn't know how to parry or dodge. The fight was around 12 minutes long.
Eventually I went back and did it in 2-4 minutes

I try playing the old traditional view, its kinda hard to do so. I got used to MGS3's camera I guess(and Peace Walker). That, and it was better with no radar.

You can parry every attack except the overhead slams with it's blade arms. Those are pretty easy to dodge too.

Ninja running away only seems to work half the time. Unless I'm running away too late that is. Also parrying does not prevent damage.
I didn't try blade dodging though.

On a different note, I was really surprised to find out how much skill I've lost from taking such long breaks from MGS4. MGO really helped me.
I'm at the Blast furnace section of Shadow Moses, and I can't believe how many times I've gone in to Alert Mode from some Gekko or Sentry spotting/hearing me. Back when I played the hell out of the game, I was so good. I never got the Foxhound or Big Boss emblem because I had to still work on my speed, but I had the stealth part down so well. Now I'm amazed that I've gone this far without Alerts with so little trouble.
I got the Stealth camo once before, so it wasn't a foreign thing to me to go without alerts, but I guess since I only got back in to it when the trophy patch came, I had gone so long without keeping my skills up that it's like I'm relearning the game.[/QUOTE]

I thought that was the one David did.
I'm on my second play through of MGR and I must say, I haven't played a game that gets me excited just playing it. I love the cutscene before fighting Monsoon, the fight itself, and the music is just amazing. Really like Sam's character, as well as Raiden. Everything is just so well done.

Ha! I bought the original MGS for PS1 on ebay for less than $10 last month on ebay. I did the dirty trick of waiting until the last few seconds to outbid everyone
