Hurt me more Snake!
I think Outer Ops is kind of disappointing as well, I was hoping to be able to actually be involved in it and not have just a metagame to level soldiers up.
To be honest, It would had been awesome if the Base Management and Outer Ops was more like either Frozen Synapse, Xcom or Dwarf Fortress, Random shit that makes your jaw drop what makes awesome moments you tell to people on fourms and such about one soldier in MSF who defys all odds and destroys, say a entire squad of tanks with just a pistol...
Or something stupid like that.

Although that guy's absolutely nuts, he's still one of my favorite side characters of the MG series.

Damnit I am getting PS3 tomorrow hopefully and I was hoping I could get into playing MGO, but they are closing in June. I hope they make another one.

They barely touch on his history much but there's shit tons to be explored with him. Just hope Kojima feels it a worthy venture.

Ehh... Your better off saving yourself the hassle and just dont bother with MGO.
Unless the original MGS3 MGO comes back, i would buy that in a heart beat just to use that M37.

I'm sorry but MGS was maybe one of the best Metal Gear titles for me. I loved everything about it.
IMO, deserves a graphic and gameplay update to the more modern metal gear controls and gameplay and graphics, while retaining the AWESOME soundtrack it has (no remix bs nor anything).
Basically, what Silicon Knights did, sans the BS cutscenes, even more updated graphics, old school mgs soundtrack and new improved gameplay from mgs4.
Now that would be amazing.
Saw HD collection today on sale. Why don't I have a PS3 D:...

Kojima has said a few times, there is great fan demand for it. And he's quite happy catering to the demand normally, it's the only reason we have any games after MGS. But he would really, really want to avoid remaking MGS himself (which is why he left it to Silicon Knights) as he feels that as a creator he should be coming up with new ideas, not just making old ones modern. He also mentioned that if he was to go through with the overhaul, it would play exactly like the first as he doesn't like the idea of changing the gameplay just to fit modern times. The only things he would change would be the graphical quality, and the voice acting. But all the gameplay elements he would want to keep the same.
There's a reason he didn't have much involvement in the HD Collection, he just doesn't like remaking games.
The only downsides in MGS1 are the crappy aiming and the short length.
Just beat PW. [sp]I'm scared of this "Paz Date" mission.[/sp]

I've never really had a problem with aiming in MGS1. Although I may just be really used to it.

Never played either of those online versions unfortunately.
I fucking loved Snake doing backflips off missiles and out maneuvering a ninja.

Bad idea :c
And seems like he really wouldn't make my dream true either. The voice acting is good enough for me, same for the soundtrack. Graphical quality yes, could change, but playing with mgs4's controls and abilities would be awesome. I'd imagine it would be as good as playing the part where you go back to SM in mgs4, and play it in the same way.
I'd rather he didn't do a remake for MGS. Besides, Silicon Knights did SHIT cutscenes and replaced Greg Eagles with some other guy. Gray Fox sounds like bullshit there.
Apparently they made the whole game pretty much perfectly recreating the PS1 version's cutscenes, but Kojima asked them to redo them and make them more over the top, because he said he would have made them that way if he could have done when he made MGS in the first place.
So blame Kojima, not Silicon Knights.
What.
I should read the wiki in search of that. Why would he do that? Some cutscenes are so fucking ridiculous and give the game such a bad image compared to the first.

To put it this way, the first MGO was shortlived and the second MGO has outstayed its welcome.
Its all insta-kill headshot with everyone using the M4 Custom with any other weapon or playstyle being looked down apon by the mostly shitty community. After a while when all the srs players stayed, it just gets boring. I would have recommended it 2 years ago but now, i just cant. There's no point in trying to learn the game if its just going to get shut down.
I could carry on about the problems of the second MGO but, I cannot be arsed today since its way too early in the day for that.

Well if they make a new one hopefully it doesn't have those problems
Well, I didn't mind the Ninja cutscenes. Those actually were cool. But the rocket riding and Liquid doing a front flip on top of a hand railing next to REX REALLY killed it for me.
He shouldn't had done it. Thats what made TTS worser than the original.

I hope so too, You should be rewarded for being a sneaky and tactical bastard.
I loved The Twin Snakes. It was my first MGS game. I really need to get another copy from ebay or something.
So I found Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 on my MGS HD Collection.
I haven't done much with the HD Collection though since I've been playing MGS1.

Yeah they're on the MGS3 disk.
And apparently there's a skating minigame?

It was removed in the HD collection.

Ya just realized I still have a bit to go. Figured the game was pretty much done after the credits but guess not.
[editline]March 20 2012[/editline]
Also, how do I find guys that are above rank D? I would like to upgrade my weapons but I can't get my R&D level high enough up because all the npc's are so low of a level.
It was removed in the HD collection.
WHAT?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It was also removed in the Xbox version of substance :eng101:
It was also removed in the Xbox version of substance :eng101:
Wrong.
It was added in the PS2 version of Substance.
The glass is half full, not half empty.
Oh and by the way, the reason the skating minigame isn't in is because it was actually the demo for another (PS2 exclusive IIRC) Konami game, but with the MGS content unlocked rather than the content that the normal demo would have.
They'd be going out of their way to port a demo of another game completely unrelated to MGS (With the exception of an unlockable MGS skin and map)
Sweet, I got PS3, HD collection, and 4.
