European Extreme Rays
Thats if you get past Olga first, on E.E.
I wish Steam or GOG would sell MGS1. Would prefer to have a digital copy seeing as how my ps2 is having issues.
Well made ports of every MG game on steam... (and while we're at it, Zone of the Enders aswell...)
Oh my god...

How good is ZoE? I only played a demo of it back when I was a kid. It was really confusing to play at the time.
Just got home from New Orleans. Back to the adventures of Solid Sna- Raiden.
ZOE1 is rather short, about 5/6 hours? Still pretty good i thought. Just overshadowed by MGS2 at the time. Just like Crackdown was to the Halo 3 beta.
ZOE2 is fucking awesome, found it for £15 and i pretty much bought it straight away. Worth it.

I played this music quite often on Metal Gear Online. Just rocking around with the shotgun, giving out short laughs and "I dont think so".

Yes, you are a giant pussy.
I started normal.
When I was 10.
I'm starting (for the first time) MGS3. I started on Very Easy and I plan to work my way up gradually once I get better. I heard the MGS series is pretty difficult first time around.

Well technically this isnt my first time playing but I've been absolutely shit.
Play on Normal. You'll have trouble at first, but you'll get used to it as you play, just like it was meant to be.
ZOE1 has some good ideas, but isn't that great.
ZOE2 has some of the best gameplay on the PS2 (Imo)
The story's laughably stupid though, but the atmosphere is great, especially with some of the music:

I will be playing the ZoE series for the first time when the HD collection comes out. Jehuty in 1080p!
There needs to be a ZOE 3, with new Orbitals and such.

The GBA ZOE game "Fist of Mars" (Zone of the Enders: 2173 Testament in japan) was pretty nice. Played like Fire Emblem, but without the Perma-Death, as far as im aware anyway, you could manually dodge EVERYTHING thats thrown at you. I dont think it has much to due with ZOE1/2 even though its in the middle on the two.
Getting all these dogtags is pretty damn boring but at least it doesn't take very long. Need my infinite ammo.

To be honest, I have never played and am far from it (apparently, since I have neither a PS2 copy nor a PS3/X360 to play the upcoming HD collection) but from what I see, it looks awesome. Probably as good as lets say, the flashiest of mech fights in japanese animes.
And from what I saw, it looks like it has better gameplay than I expected.

I think it was about some conspiracy behind the orbital frames being made in mass on some planet or something, so yeah, not the same story.

Intro + small bits of gameplay, which I find beautiful (both of them)
ZOE and MG are what puts Kojima up on the list for the best devs out there. Both him and Gabe. Their stuff just has so much quality, and they take their sweet time, which is something that I actually like. It takes time, but in the end, they always release something awesome. If only Kojima's games were sold on Steam... I'd inpregnate 2 women (or 1 if she was to have twins) and offer Gabe and Kojima my children (yes, I find them to be THAT amazing to use such an outrageous claim)
Speaking of which, I can only find ZOE2 special editions Japan import in NTSC-J but I own a PAL console. That wouldn't work now would it?
And I'd probably get the game in japanese instead right?
Its the only way to get the special edition with more content. Its kinda like Substance.
im playing mgs peace walker and im not liking it one bit!
the story is pretty uninteresting. i think kojima has reached the point where all the cool parts of the mgs story are explored. i wonder what mgs5 will be about. he should just start a new franchise instead of just trying to cover every single unexplained part of the story, 'cause there is no need for that. like in inglorious basterds, you don't get to know how shoshanna "inherited" the cinema. leave something for the player's imagination.
and all the micromanagement is total wank. i understand this game is originally meant as a portable title but still ugh this doesn't feel like mgs at all.
and the HUD is hip and modern to the degree it's just confusing. and you can't move grabbed enemies around?? and there is pretty much no difficulty in stealthing around, as enemies need to be like five meters in front of you to go "who's there?"
the motion-comic cinematics are kinda cool though!
Good news everyone!
I seem to have found both ZOE2 Special edition and MGS3 Subsistence!
If they check out in good shape, I'm gonna buy them and cum all over my house while I play. Then all I need is a PS3 and MSG4 :v:
Here's an old post I made on Gamefaqs, should be helpful for anyone collecting Zeke AI and parts.
Originally from here, just wanted to make sure people see it if they're having trouble collecting AI.
http://www28.atwiki.jp/2chmgspw/pages/37.html
Here are two files
For those of you with Excel, here's the file
http://filesmelt.com/dl/MG_ZEKE_AI.xls
For those of you without it,

The colours indicate what Op will have the AI you need.
Green = Main Ops Battle
Blue = Type II
Red = Custom
To get the Max amount of AI to appear when you're in the pod, try to only hit parts other than the pod, I got a full list of 40 at once with everything destroyed and the pod hardly damaged, but obviously you can only get a max of 20 per go. I also think it has to do with time taken, but I'm still unsure.
Also since I just obtained all the heads from the AI battles, the trick to getting them is to make sure never to hit the head once (a few shots are alright) and making sure everything else is at 0%. Same goes for the Peace Walkers Legs, everything must be 0% and Movement must be above 95% to get them. (don't know if it's random, but I got them first try when doing it like this).

It's just that, a portable MGS game. Having been a Portable Ops player, Peace Walker improves upon the portable title a ton. I'll agree in that it's very easy, but I feel in part the Stealth Suit is what does it. I like to speed run levels.
I think it feels like an MGS title, but it's obviously one of the portable ones. Your complaints are valid, I'm just hoping to shed a little light on Peace Walker.
[editline]30th March 2012[/editline]
I think the main thing is that on the PSP's really bad stick the game is harder, but one a dual stick controller setup it's easier to navigate, making it a much easier game.
The one thing I've disliked in recent MGS games is emphasis on having a larger arsenal.
I play MGS for the stealth, not having 40 guns of all shapes and sizes to take down people.
MGS3 did everything perfectly, you had to be careful, you had to think, and if things got hairy, there were ways to get out of that situation.

It's optional though, I don't see the problem. In PW it's absolutely needed and adds to the persistence of it all. I'd rather have things like that instead of encountering the same few weapons over and over again.
MGS5 is going to be Raiden sword action.
MGS5 is going to be Raiden sword action.
We shouldn't even joke about that, it's just an abomination.
The concept art they've shown so far points to it being set around the time Big Boss re-joins FOXHOUND.
MGS5? As in the whole Revengeance deal?
That's more of a spinoff than anything else, and its based after MGS4.
Kojima said there would be a propper MGS5.
Edit: so the guy doesn't has subsistence but still has ZOE2, and its the special edition, which is good enough!

There is a proper MGS5 and they've put out a piece of concept art pretty much confirming it's Big Boss again and he looks how he did in MG 1/2.

That looks like Big Boss circa "when snake fought him in Outer Heaven" so before MGS1.
Which would be AWESOME.
Just finished MGS3 for the first time. Awesome game, but some of the writing was a pretty bad (especially in the end).
