Seriously what is everyone's conception of peace walker it looks really awesome, I'm excited to play it after I start/finish MGS3
The Escape from series influenced a shit ton of elements in MGS.
Seriously what is everyone's conception of peace walker it looks really awesome, I'm excited to play it after I start/finish MGS3
I have fun in it it is a bit different from other games though.
I think when a game [sp]tells me to turn off the game console and says I've played too long[/sp], it's a good time to go to bed
In MGO on MGS4 when you play for longer than 2-4 hours a prompt comes on screen every hour after telling you to stop playing and take a break.
but isn't mgo shut down? :(
MGS3's MGO is, MGS4's isn't yet, but will be soon.
Oh Raiden's face is also in my backpack Well that's cool
Wait until you meet Major Ivan Raidenovitš Raikov :v:
the fuck I just got attacked by crocodiles and I died in a mud pit I am going to like this so much better than MGS2
Here are some tips to help you along the way, there aren't any spoilers in them. Pro Tips ● Roll across the mud to get better distance. ● If you ever get into deep trouble, take a fake death pill and wait until the guards go back to their posts. Then in the death screen open your item inventory (L2) and take the revival pill. ● Use the D-Pad to sneak behind enemies and then chokehold them with the action button. (O) ● If you come across a base with trenches, after going past electric fences, you can grab TNT from a grey shack and plant TNT in the brown shack to destroy the guard's food supply. This will make them weaker and be less aware of their surroundings. ● Fruit is usually the best and easiest food to get but it will rot if you aren't careful. ● Throw a poisonous snake at a guard to get a few laughs. ● Dogs will sleep after eating a meal but be careful, if you walk over them they will wake up. ● Throw rotten/unsafe food in front of a guard and he will eat it; he will then feel very unwell. ● If you defeat bosses by taking down their stamina, you will be rewarded with special camo. ● Don't kill too many soldiers or it might come back to haunt you. ● If you don't know if a guard is nearby or not, use your AP Card. Be careful though, it makes a noise and guards can hear it if you're close enough. ● Use stun grenades on groups of enemies to easily take them out. ● The game carries on while you're not playing, food will rot and other events will happen. ● Interrogate guards (choke hold + L3) to get special secret information which will likely be hilarious or very helpful. ● The radio has a huge amount of funny content, take a break once in a while and radio everyone. Talking to para-medic usually has the best lines. ● You know when I mentioned interrogating guards earlier? Well sometimes they say Frequencies which you can then use. Some may even be very helpful! ● Thermal Goggles will reveal foot prints, this will be very helpful later. ● The best place to hide when in a building is usually in a box. ● You can shoot while holding someone hostage, but is it hard to pull off. Equip a pistol and chokehold a guard, then quickly let go of the CIRCLE button and hold the SQUARE button lightly. Snake will point his gun out and you can then use the First Person View to aim your gun. ● Sometimes you can fall on top of an enemy to knock him out cold. ● It is possible to become a cannibal. ● You can harvest mushrooms instead of hunting animals if you want to do a vegetarian run. ● You can blow up ammo storage and food storage shacks to weaken the guards. ● You can capture animals with your Mk.22 gun, it will keep it fresh and it will never rot, you can also use it as a weapon (Scare guards with a snake). ● You can equip your food/captured animals as a weapon in the weapon screen. (Pause -> Equipment) ● Hornets don't like it when you destroy their nests. It might be worth it though! Hornets can also go after Guards and make them run off screen.
● The game carries on while you're not playing, food will rot and other events will happen.
I really hated this, i have a habbit of stopping a playthrough halfway through the game and then picking it up again a month or two later. I did this in MGS3. Suddenly, all my food was rotten.
But the colonel was already there since MGS1. That's just a coincidence if you ask me.
yeah, but both ny and la were out before mgs1 ???
yeah, but both ny and la were out before mgs1 ???
Who cares? obviously the legendary whiny rusty?
yeah, but both ny and la were out before mgs1 ???
Apparantly so, woops. Don't mind me, I don't know my shit. [editline]15th April 2012[/editline] In my defense, you did say "mgs2 borrows heavily from...".
Who cares? obviously the legendary whiny rusty?
im not whining i think its great i was just making that observation [editline]16th April 2012[/editline]
Apparantly so, woops.
im not whining i think its great i was just making that observation [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] i have only played 2
That's alright then :).
Pretty sure Colonel Campbell is based on Colonel Trautman from Rambo: First Blood. Wikipedia says it is.
How is it possible to become a cannibal at any point? That's the only thing in the list I don't know about.
wow nice, wish this would have happened 2 years ago for the 360 :(
How is it possible to become a cannibal at any point? That's the only thing in the list I don't know about.
[sp]Vultures eat dead guards. Snake eats dead vultures.[/sp]
but isn't mgo shut down? :(
This June, play it while you can. MGO2 I mean.
I'm impressed with how much content Peace Walker seems to have, but the vast majority of the vehicle missions, especially those in extra ops are basically impossible outside of co-op. Gets a bit annoying after a while.
[sp]Vultures eat dead guards. Snake eats dead vultures.[/sp]
I knew that, and it's not really cannibalism.
[sp]I need scissors! 61![\sp] [editline]15th April 2012[/editline] FISSION MAILED
Fuck these grenade vr missions. The grenade launcher is useless.
Just got my copy in the mail today, release order is 2 > 3 > Peace Walker right?
Just got my copy in the mail today, release order is 2 > 3 > Peace Walker right?
Yeah, but the story order would be 3, PW, 2.
Yeah, but the story order would be 3, PW, 2.
And if you include the whole series (considering that Metal Gear 1 and 2 are on MGS3): MGS3, MGSPO, MGSPW, MG1, MG2, MGS1, MGS2, and finally MGS4.
Decided to go with order of release, from 2 to 3 to Peace Walker, finish the 129 page MGS1 book on the special page, then a 324 page one appears, christ I'm gonna be here for an hour before I even start the game.
Here's a knife and a gun Now go beat Russia
I'm playing Metal Gear 1 cause now that I know its on MGS3 I'm gonna go Metal Gear 1, Metal Gear 2, buy MGS1 on the PSN store etc.. I have no idea what in the fuck I am doing on Metal Gear 1, not going at all well.
I was going to do them chronologically but that would make my experience to the franchise different to everyone else
