I have to say, why is Major Tom giving me all these weapons and then saying "But oh no avoid the enemy"
So I can't just kill a bunch of dudes, avoid an alert and just hide their bodies?
Where's the fun in that?
[QUOTE=En-Guage V2;35592005]I was going to do them chronologically but that would make my experience to the franchise different to everyone else[/QUOTE]
I played them in the order of:
Portable Ops, MGS1, MGS4, Peace Walker, MGS3, MGS2.
lol that sucks imo
I wouldn't want to wreck a series like that

Nah, it was alright.
oh it would've been just as fun, it just would have somewhat ruined the story
Got MGS1 on the PSN store, gonna play MGS 1, 2, 3 then Peace Walker, I tried to get into Metal Gear 1 but its just too dated for me to properly enjoy now.
Nice man, if I had any way of playing MGS1 first I'd probably try it, assuming it was something tiny like 10 bucks
I missed a lot from the first game, for example I don't know who big boss is, snake's background, etc there's plenty of stuff missing
but I don't care, I'll find out one day by playing the game. Not by reading a wiki page

Its only £8 on the PSN Store which is $12.50-ish I think right now.
awesome, that's a good deal
I'm glad I played it before going into the HD collection. Better story for MGS2 and a bunch of awesome memories.
They changed the story?
[QUOTE=En-Guage V2;35593544]They changed the story?[/QUOTE]
I think he means it made him enjoy the story in MGS2 more since he'd played MGS1.

Yeah that, since I got a better idea of what was going on.
GODDAMNIT.
Every element of the game and luck seems to be working against me in Ex Ops 48. I have spent the past hour trying to do it.
So far I've had these kinds of run ins:
1. Guard seeing me by the most miniscule margin possible
2. UAVs. UAVs. UAVSSSS GODDAMNIT
3. Guard waking up suddenly from deep sleep despite being tranq'd a minute ago (And not tapped) and spotting me when I was barely less than a meter from the goal
4. Tranq'ing a guard. He runs to my position.
4a. You really thought he spotted me? Think again. He fell asleep midway through a ladder on the route to me. MISSION FAILED. And he was the last enemy left in the last map to the goal.
[editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
5. Completely my fault for not moving. Guard decided he was going to have a closer look at the situation by jumping to [del]his death[/del] where I am. Unfortunately upon landing his eyes were right on my chest.
[editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
And finally got it done.

Fulton balloons and hold-ups. If you're trusting the tranq then you're going to have trouble.
[QUOTE=Agoat;35601841]Fulton balloons and hold-ups. If you're trusting the tranq then you're going to have trouble.[/QUOTE]
I've relied on hold ups for most of the mission except for the end.
Trying to do a hold up at the end there isn't an option with that quite invasive UAV.

Hold up then use chaff. Or vice-versa.
I'd use fultons more, but I'm relying on a Quality over Quantity approach for my crew. I had to go through a mess of de-teaming everyone and weeding out all the E-skillers then reorganizing the teams. I wish there was a mass-wait room option, and less warnings when trying to discharge. I'm going to need a quality RnD and Intel crew if I want any hope of getting great gear made.

You can select multiple people using square FYI.
Anyway, incase anyone has to go through that part at the end of ExOps 48 for the fulton launcher's required missions, here's a way I did it:
1. Chestranq both the guards (Headtranq creates an alert mess)
2. Throw all your chaffs after every corner on the gap (The gap is the reason you can't do a holdup on them without the UAV seeing you. Throwing chaffs with the guards awake alerted them to it in my experience)
3. Taze all the sleeping guards if you're paranoid about a sudden wakeup like I am.
[sp]4. Grab the documents in the corner opposite the goal[/sp]
And complete

Oh thanks.
Hey guys, isn't Big Boss the biggest G throughout the whole series?
Fighting three [sp]Metal Gear RAYs at once[/sp] is tough

I'd say he's the biggest boss.

Try it on Extreme difficulty. That battle lasts for about half an hour.

Brb gonna attempt
[editline]16th April 2012[/editline]
Beat the RAYs. Now the big battle...with swords

Also I should make an avatar of the Campbell skull-face.

Yeah, this is not hard at all.
is mgs1 conisdered better than 2? im really enjoying 2 so far (as the first mgs game i've played)
i have tried to play it before, but i always got the feeling it was too complicated and i didn't really understand the gameplay. this time i actually gave it a shot and realised it's actually not complicated at all and you just kind of need to get into the groove of it, decide what suits you best. it's a daunting game at first though, that's for sure.
so do i hit up mgs1? i hear that's on psn

It's $9.99 on PSN. Personally, it's my favorite out of the series. It has the best bosses in the whole series as well.

The game is great, but aiming sucks, so dont try to get into any fights.
