is mgs1 conisdered better than 2? im really enjoying 2 so far (as the first mgs game i've played)
i have tried to play it before, but i always got the feeling it was too complicated and i didn't really understand the gameplay. this time i actually gave it a shot and realised it's actually not complicated at all and you just kind of need to get into the groove of it, decide what suits you best. it's a daunting game at first though, that's for sure.
so do i hit up mgs1? i hear that's on psn
I played MGS1 on PC and MGS2 on 360, so it may be a bit unfair to compare the controls of both, but as far as it goes MGS1 is more enjoyable, in my opinion. The weapons, even despite the fact that they don't aim in first-person somehow are easier to use than in MGS2, and the story's just more memorable. Also, there's no characters you play as besides Snake (unless you count the VR missions as Gray Fox, I guess).
The ray is one of the coolest mecha I've seen
It's just so inhuman, most mechs still somewhat resemble a person's shape, but dat ray
It's just so evil. I love it

Also seriously this game is taunting me
I find shotguns, ARs, etc but I can't ever use any of them because this is a stealth game
WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME
Think of it as alternative meditation. You must not give in to temptation. Don't taint your sould. Only use silenced handuns for excavating the enemies brains.
nope fuck it I'm sick of being caught
I'm going to knife the fools and kill all of them, or at least most of them
i beat mgs2 i think
landed the final blow while bleeding, also on fire
very good game glad i had never played it until now so i could truly appreciate it
onto mgs3
MGS3 seems like a lot more fun
MGS3 is the best because it backs more of the Twin Snakes flair for action and it doesn't have to deal with the patriots.
I really like the camo thing
It's a bit annoying to having to change my camo whenever I leave a certain area, eg forest to dirt
Also the guards are FUCKING RETARDED
Lying on the outskirts of a bush, clearly visible against the ground, guard on patrol, move slightly
"WHAT WAS THAT"
Meanwhile perfectly visible, he's looking at me
"..."
"MUST'VE BEEN NOTHING"
Made a Steam group for organizing games on Peace Walker's MP and as a general MGS Facepunch group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MilitairesSansFrontieresFP
So any of you fellows here interested in doing versus ops or co-op join up, once we get a good number there'll be announcements whenever we do an FP game.
Great, I'll join next time I have steam open

The story is still about the patriots.
Who are the patriots?
Without ruining the game for me. Aren't they some squad that big boss made during the cold war or something

[editline]17th April 2012[/editline]

I like how that was the Marine Corp's commander's last words
I lol'd
so I finally got to the final battle with [sp]Metal gear ZEKE[/sp]. I threw a chaff grenade at it and [sp]Paz asked me what I was even trying[/sp]. at least I got a trophy for trying.
The story is still about the patriots.
I know that. But it didn't shit itself, unlike the others.

An organisation that secretly decides everything, modelled after the 'Philosophers'.
I just got to the part where [sp]Emma dies[/sp]
[sp]Poor Otacon[/sp]
Snake and Otacon have a pretty sweet handshake.

Also he's very good at bringing you ketchup.
After about 20 tries I have concluded that I can not beat [sp]Metal Gear Ray[/sp]
Fuck this boss.
Fuck it to hell.

Just shoot it. Which one? MGS2? If so, just shoot once, then run til the missiles hit, then shoot again. Extreme, 25 Metal Gears, no scratches.

You know about shooting [sp]it in the knee[/sp] right?
FUCK I BROKE THE OP
I love mgs3. I bought a used PS2 recently just to play it at home anytime i want. (I never owned any console ecxept a psx in the 90s). MGS 1 was a classic, MGS 2 a turdy attempt to take the series into a new direction written into a complete mess.
Then came Snake Eater and then came I. Buckets. No patriots conspiracy clusterfuck with 9000 differend partys pulling strings. Just a bearded badass one-eyed all-eating wise-cracking survival master, the jungle and russians. Mixed with a good portion of cheesy spy-flick appeal and everything that made the original great and you have me glued to the screen. glued with my fountains of joy-cum.
Okay, obviously [sp]SOPA/PIPA/ACTA/whatever are all things done by the Patriots[/sp]
You know about shooting [sp]it in the knee[/sp] right?
I was an anti-metal gear, metal gear once...then i took a stinger to the knee...
I couldn't resist.
