We need someone from the PS3 to be an officer in the Steam group, so that we can have someone to host PS3 events/announcements. However, there are some criteria: 1. Must be competent and pleasant to deal with. 2. Must be able to post regular announcements/comments on the Steam page. And a microphone is preferable, but not required.
I'd reccomend taking them in chronologic order : MGS3, PO, PW, MG, MG2, MGS1, MGS2, MGS4. But of course, i seem to be the only person in the world who thinks hearing a story in order is a good idea.

Playing MGS3 spoils some information from MGS1 and so on.
Yeah, they fixed tranqs being insanely overpowered in Peace Walker because helmets can take 1 - 4 hits from a tranquilizer gun before you'll actually hit them in the head and knock them out. If you hit them anywhere else, it takes ages for them to fall over.
If you manage to shoot someone right in between the buttcheeks he'll clench his ass and drop down immediately.

ye and in addition the gameplay goes up and down like a rollercoaster. making the whole experience very uncomfortable because suddenly you can't aim in first person view and then suddenly you can and it just turns into a mess. they should most definitely be played in the order they were released. it's the best way. both in terms of narrative and gameplay. [editline]19th April 2012[/editline] i made this art nouveau poster i think it's relevant to this thread [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13290261/75_lepatron.png[/t]
You learn stuff that you should not know until later, completely ruining the surprise.
I actually have been thinking on this... And no. It's merely foreshadowed. MGS3 really doesn't change the plot... weight of the other games, it just changes the emphasis on exposition a bit. I've been thinking a bit on this, and there's nothing in the prequels that spoil the larger plot and even the intricate shit holds up. [sp] In MGS1, Vulcan says "blood from the east flows in your veins". In MGS3, Eva is revealed to be Big Boss' romantic interest, in MGS4, she's revealed as the surrogate mother with an egg from an eastern woman.[/sp] setting the chronological order right doesn't really change this. [sp]other than make the Intro of EVA seem even less out of place in the scheme of things, in relation to Les Enfants Terrible and such[/sp] Lots of other things like this. I personally think it enhances it all. Imagine the emotional gravity it would give an MG1 remake, actually knowing that [sp]you're fighting a man with noble intentions, rather than the pure evil he was made out to be in the original.[/sp] IMO, hearing a story from one end to the other works out fine with this series.
I can easily adapt to control differences, i hardly even notice. Narratively, i still hold on to mine. But hey, each our own.
All valid points. Ultimately, it's completely up to you how you decide to tackle the series.
[sp]you're fighting a man with noble intentions, rather than the pure evil he was made out to be in the original.[/sp]
[SP]Big boss is dead by metal gear solid 1 and even though Liquid's motives are following Big Boss' motives, Liquid is still somewhat of a dick.[/Sp]

What do you guys use as a light source when you fall down to the caves after Ocelot's fight? (before you get a torch or anything else)
He said MG1, not MGS1.
That's exactly what i said mate. Thanks.
First time, cigar. Second time, If I dont care about accuracy, used the Patriot's muzzle flash.
Huh did the exact same. Or just switched the brightness higher.
I don't think it matters much because the cave becomes less and less darker as time goes on.
None of those. It only gets lighter when daylight/glowcaps are involved.
Actually started playing Peace Walker again. When do you start to get that amazing gear that will actually enable me to play co-op with you guys?
I tried to do a CQC only run on Euro Extreme on MGS3. Got all the way up to Groznyj Grad and my xbox froze up and I didn't save once. I really wish console games had a quicksave button.
I used the cigar and a ton of luck.
I did that first few times, now I just turn the brightness up on the TV. Especially if I'm playing during the day, my blinds are shit.
Anyone up for Peace Walker right now add Agoat944 to Xbox Live.
Anyone up for Peace Walker right now add Agoat944 to Xbox Live.
Multiplayer or Coop?
When you give me your xbl name if you're on 360 and I send you it in a delivery.
CracKforBrumak, cheers dude. I just completed the game, and done the first zoltan retrieval. About camaraderie. Getting camaraderie will be a real bitch to do, because The game only records the last 50 people you've played with. If you play with more then 50 people the game will start pushing the latest name on its memory off and erasing all the camaraderie you had with that play. So if any of you are interested in getting 20,000 camaraderie, we'll need to form a group so we no longer have to play with randoms. [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] Anyone interested in getting that Trade achievement? It'll take about 10 seconds. You probably don't even have to add me, I'm the only host.
I think the point was probably to focus on playing with friends or just generally the same people, or just an oversight during the port from the PSP (With less of a playing pool and obviously less memory) to the current consoles. I'm thinking it's the latter most likely, but then again noone truly understands the mind of Kojima.
You'd think it'd just keep the top 50.
Invite me only to kick me No worries bro, whenever you wanna do it.

He wanted to make disks that explode when you die in game.
That was a bit of fun. Fucking hard though to understand what people were saying. I'll wait to play again til I get a mic.
