Just beat MGS3. I cried many tears at the end. Best game I've played in a while.
I played MGS3 and then Peace Walker and everything makes so much sense. Plus dem soundtracks.
I'm honestly thinking of buying a turbo controller to beat the strangelove torture but then i'll try it without the controller and i'll beat it no problem.

I like how the only time this thread has any real activity is when someone mentions a torture scene or when something new is announced.
Hooray, Just got the HD collection today after wanting it for some while. Can't wait to replay through MGS2.
Since this thread has been brought back from the dead, I'll ask: how do you change ammo types in Peace Walker? I mean, I've got all these rubber rounds for the shotgun and Fulton ammo for the Carl Gustav but can't for the life of me figure out how to use them. I'd like a non-lethal option that isn't the MK.22. Also fuck the torture scene, I think I'll just buy a turbo controller for it. I'm terrible at button mashing.

Bumping this thread because that other megathread got locked and stuff

Is Portable Ops worth it? Also, if it is, is there any way I can put it on my Vita?
Is Portable Ops worth it? Also, if it is, is there any way I can put it on my Vita?
Depends on which portable ops, and both should be on the PSN Store for digital. I own both on UMD but it's kind of difficult playing a traditional metalgear on a PSP, peacewalker changed it for the better, for the psp series of games atlest.
Is Portable Ops worth it? Also, if it is, is there any way I can put it on my Vita?
Portable Ops was my first MGS game. I love it.
Portable Ops was my first MGS game. I love it.
At least it wasn't Acid :v: That said I do quite like Portable Ops. Half wish they stuck with that gameplay but half adore what they did with Peace Walker.
Afpca is my PSN.. Add me! :D
Broguts on PSN
For some reason I love using the Tanegashima.
Best part of MGS4: Making Snake lie on his back and listen to music to regen health.
So, I'm playing MGS3 HD on my Vita, [sp]escorting EVA[/sp] and my Mk22 silencers ran out. I manage to tranq some soldiers (4 actually) and get items from them, in this order: Scorpion Ammo SVD Ammo AK47 Ammo Scorpion Ammo M1911A1 Ammo Mk22 Ammo Mosin Nagant Ammo Grenades Why
It always baffled me why the villains are carrying tranquilizer ammo.
I beat all the games in the series except MGS3. During my first play through, I had forgotten to collect the croc hat which made some parts very difficult to beat (the part where snake walks through the river which security flying above). It was only till later I learned that those items appear more than once in the game. MGS4 was amazing for me. I especially loved the cut scene with Liquid shooting down everything with his fingers.
It always baffled me why the villains are carrying tranquilizer ammo.
well the mgs games really do threat themselves as games first and foremost and the justification really is just because it's convenient for gameplay, just look at how the games constantly break the fourth wall

OH WAIT! We're on Blu-Ray, double-layered too! I loved that scene.
Time to change disc! OH WAIT! We're on Blu-Ray, double-layered too! I loved that scene.
Although it was cute for us who played MGS1, I can't help but think it was some sort of attempt to spur a console war.
