[QUOTE=spekter;37505089]It looks absolutely NOTHING like him. In every single way not just the face.

Oh come on, that was clearly a joke.

Dude the amount of times I've seen people say stupid stuff regarding MGS is countless, I can't tell when someones being sarcastic or are legitimately throwing random shit out without even looking into it.
I just scoured Japanese web but the scarred face guy shares the same voice actor as Volgin so anything is possible
[editline]1st September 2012[/editline]
yeah, just checked his voice acting in MGS3 and it definitely sounds similar
looks great but whats up with being able to call in air-support and stuff? i mean they say in the trailer that due to the political sensitivity of the operation, it will be a solo-operation with no backup

It's probably just one of those non-canon game play things.
I hope this game is more like MGS3 then 4 and 2. More "realistic", with less emphasis on nanomachine and anime esque girls.

It might be inferring that you can call in MSF soldiers to support you, or even co-op partners. Since calling in an evac like that could be critical.

The more ridiculous aspects of the series will always be there, but it often doesn't detract from the rest of the games.

That was simply showing some aspects of the gameplay. For that mission they were currently on ya it would have been a bad idea but the air-support will be potentially helpul on later missions.

I dunno about you guys, but this like one of my Japanese animes.

I know, thats why I used the quotes. I'm well aware of the voodoo bee and spiderman bosses. But they were still more plausible then some of the other bosses and fit with the theme better.

I have to agree with you there. MGS3 was silly, but it wasn't nanomachine silly.
I'm really hoping that this has the MGS4 control scheme though.
That was fucking awesome.
God I love when games have no HUD, or at least HUD that disappears when it's not being used. Really brings out the visuals and increases immersion.

I am hoping though that it will still have camo index and and ammo counter, at the very least.

He's in the sneaking suit so I doubt it
So Ground Zeroes is a prologue for MGS 5 huh?
Looking at Big Boss aging face makes me think the game takes place at late 70's or even early 80's
Kojima stated that Solid's storyline ended with MGS 4
Could that MGS 5 be an actual remake of the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2?
Jeez, my cock would explode if that is confirmed.
so we've got a scarred mean looking man who shares voice actors with Volgin (as the general Japanese speculation direction is going), Chico(?) with an audio jack on his chest, Paz is alive (which I've always assumed since they never found her remains in PW), and Volgin(?) and his bodyguards are wearing XOF patches which they take off and remove the XOF insignia off the heli yet Big Boss is going into the base wearing an XOF patch
somehow I have a bad feeling the first mission will end up putting the blame on Snake via setup while Volgin(?) maliciously plots his next move
I'm excited
and to wreck some soldiers with low intellegence who are easily distracted by erotic magazines
How that zombie could possibly be Volgin?
Maybe they did some houdini cloning shit like they did with Big Boss
at the end of MGS4 I... did not expect him to be all like, "wassup, gimmie a hug son" so honestly Kojima could pull the same shit with Volgin
or he could be a closely related character, like in Peace Walker I was confused to hear The Boss' voice but turns out it was [sp]Ghost in the Shell[/sp]
man, Kojima likes reviving shit from the dead goddamm
[editline]2nd September 2012[/editline]
or like in MGS2 (if my memory serves me correctly, its been awhile) where Olga was like, IM PRETENDING TO IMPLY I AM THE CYBORG NINJAA AAAAAAAA DEAPTHROT ETC

But there was a reason for that, since the whole Big Shell incident was orchestrated as a second Shadow Moses incident to see if they could make Raiden become a supersoldier like Snake.
true, but reappearing characters seem to be the trend in MGS especially when you don't expect it
I found Kaz amusing in MGS:PW, so was the Darpa Chief in MGS3, Zero in MGS4, and other characters that Kojima likes to surprise us with
I wonder if Johnny will be making a cameo this time around
[editline]2nd September 2012[/editline]
and I wouldn't be surprised if the zombieman is indeed Volgin or somehow related to him. The voice acting already hints this
[editline]2nd September 2012[/editline]
I was also mildly amused when I saw Roy in MGS:PO, that was cool shit
too bad he couldn't do anything because of malaria though, at least I got Paramedic to run around with a gun killing things
What I find really distracting is how the zombieman has mouth scars that are very similar to Psycho Mantis', even though it isn't him.
I'm guessing Ground Zeroes plot will explain how Big Boss managed to raise Outer Heaven with the Philosophers legacy money stockpile.

Eh, I'd say the bosses in Peace Walker are the least weird. Since they are just vehicles and AI controlled robos
[QUOTE=Jackald;37507844]AI controlled robos that sing to you in the voice of Snake's dead mentor.
[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxvN8CcouyQ[/media]
That shit was fucking creepy.[/QUOTE]
Robots are actually possible, humans controlling bees are not. Still love those crazy bosses though.
[QUOTE=Jackald;37507973]I'm gonna be honest, the robots sort of threw me out of it a little bit, considering the AI robots are the most advanced AI robots we've ever seen in Metal Gear Solid until Metal Gear Solid 2's Metal Gear Rays which are AI controlled.
And considering this is in like the 1970s and they haven't even got cd players yet...
Just saying, supernatural elements have always been a staple of Metal Gear, but the robots seemed a little too good for me.[/QUOTE]
They were designed from Granin's blueprints.
You know, the guy who designed Metal Gear Rex and Metal Gear Ray back in '64?
That combined with Emmerich's intelligence, its not doubtful that an AI like that could be designed.
If Volgin were alive why would he work with Cypher? He hates the west completely.
I don't think it's Volgin, re-using voice actors for different characters isn't unheard of. Besides, would Volgin wear a hat like that?
I actually thing it might be him. No certainty though.
I never played Peace Walker.
Now I have to.
Ugh, should I?
I bought it and forgot about it completely.
