Holy shit I just fought psychomantis and how the fuck was I supposed to know I should switch the controller ports? I read it on the internet and I literally lol'd at my stupidity.
When in doubt, always call Campbell. After a few calls he should always tell you how to get past something.

i can imagine that playing during peace walker
Wait, what!?
Knock the masks off the statues, it makes him attackable like swapping controllers does.
I'm kinda hoping ground zeroes has micromanaging but that's just me.
god no. that was the biggest reason for why i only got an hour into Peace Walker. i hope ground zeroes has none of that stuff.
Knock the masks off the statues, it makes him attackable like swapping controllers does.
Wow, I didn't know that. I've always done the switching controllers tactic.
Wow, I didn't know that. I've always done the switching controllers tactic.
It's much easier than swapping ports and as this vid description says it's a good alternative if you can't switch for whatever reason. A prime example of ~solid~ game design.
The first time I played MGS I didn't have no intermanets to help me. I JUST BEAT PSYCHO MANTIS. WITHOUT KNOCKING THE MASKS OFF. WITHOUT CHANGING THE CONTROLLER PORTS. It took me all my ammo from every weapon, but I did it. And thats how I got the self-given title of Bigger Boss.
god no. that was the biggest reason for why i only got an hour into Peace Walker. i hope ground zeroes has none of that stuff.
I don't know, I liked actually researching weapons rather than just finding them, although having other characters with better stats than Snake in-game was annoying. Still better than previous weapon systems that made you lose all weapons every subsequent playthrough (sans the Patriot and SAA in MGS3).

Peace Walker felt the best gameplay-wise and I liked all the micromananging. It gave it more replayability and makes you feel like you're actually raising an army as Big Boss. I think it's the MGS that actually has more gameplay than cutscenes and the one I spent the most time playing.

I thought that helped break up the parts where you're just sitting and listening a lot. They could have certainly done more to make it work on consoles though, like combining smaller areas that were separated on the PSP into larger, load-free areas.
Picked up Peace Walker again and finally reached the [sp]second Peace Walker[/sp] fight. Anyone got any tips for it or will it be as easy as [sp]the first one[/sp]

If you're not sure whether two RPGs will be enough, wear the Battle Dress outfit and bring a third one :v: Oh yeah, in most attack animations it stops moving, so then is a perfect time to shoot the pod and then roll away to avoid a barrage of rockets to the face. Oh, and don't even bother with attacking it when it gets a glowing ring around the sphere thingy mounted above the pod, your rockets will just get deflected at you. It goes away for a while, so you just have to wait (gives you time to call for supplies and reload everything) Pretty easy overall, just long.

Beat it on my second try. I forgot how effective C4 is. Really helped me deal some damage while the EM shield was on.

-Snip, it works now for a magical reason-
I don't think I even used C4 outside of these "destroy a crate" missions and that one moment in the main story where you had to blow up a barricade.
It was actually more of a last resort for me. I had run out of grenades while the EM shield was still on, so I thought why not.

Does it scream though?
I will buy that.
I will buy that.
I would buy that...if it was a bit less than $80.
Does it scream though?
There's a version of it that lights up and has way better detailing but I think that one costed nearly $300.
I'm playing MGS1 for the first time. The part where Psycho Mantis tells you to put down your controller is so great. I never would've guessed to switch the controller port, though (I'm playing it as a PSOne Classic on my PS3)
REX was the coolest looking Metal Gear, imo.
