Got my friend to get the collection, and tomorrow were gonna do all of the Main Ops with COOP shenanigans.
I played Peace Walker with my friend last night.
Best fun I've had in a while.
I completed both metal gear 1 and 2, so I've decided to replay metal gear solid 1-4 as well, while I'm at it.
Think it'll be my 7th run of metal gear solid 1, man I fucking love that game. Pretty much my favorite of the whole franchise.

I would like it a lot more if it had first person aiming.
Not that I would need to use it often, but when I do need to shoot something/someone, its usually a pain in the ass otherwise.
Yeah, I'll give you that. But the storytelling, the atmosphere, the music,... It's just amazing in my opinion.
Started playing through Peace Walker for the first time. Loving it so far, especially the CQC throws you can do.
Also found it hilarious when [sp]Snake puts a gun to Chico's head because he says he doesn't want to live.[/sp]

There is a reason why the original MGS thread had the title of "Wanker's Cramp Edition".

When I played with my friend, both of us just kept laughing for god knows how long thanks to all the silly stuff.
The best thing to do is to go under a cardboard tank with a friend.
Beat MGS3 last night. Got almost every camo (missed the Water facepaint because I forgot to backtrack), the stealth camo, infinity facepaint, all the weapons possible. Now it's time to do my usual "fuck around with enemies wearing stealth camo" playthrough.

Did I just see Octocamo being used in the second minute of the video?
WTF?
I bought this since release and did not have much chance to play it. :(
I just played PW with a bud, makes for a great bro-op experience.
Not sure whether to tackle MGS2 or Snack eater next....
If you seriously want to play MGS2 then do it first. 3 has so many elements you would kill to have in 2.
You will not be able to go back to 2.
I actually really enjoyed MGS2 for it's gameplay, I'm playing it on extreme right now and it's very intense. I've also gotten over whiny Raiden because I've played through it so much that the cutscenes are forever in my head. VR missions are really fun, some are seriously fucked up though, mainly the GL Weapon training like I've said before. But if you want to play the games in the best order, play MGS2 first, and then MGS3 to appreciate the new features, and after MGS3 go to MGS4 if possible, then do Peace Walker. Best order if you ask me.

That was my beef with MGS2. The gameplay was pretty good just Raiden wasn't a good character. Dead Man Whispers snake tales mission made up for it even if Plisken doesn't actually talk.
Ordered this last night, should be here monday, i'm hyped for Peace Walker considering that's the only one i have yet to play.
Holy shit, after 30 minutes of experimenting, I found out how to do the PW torture scene easy!
Take a rounded, thin, and small object such as a chapstick tube, put it flat against your finger 1:1, and slide it across the Y or /\ button
Are you all actually having that much trouble? :v:
you just push the button fast
how is this a difficult thing

One does not just simply "Push a button fast"
Oh god, the horror.
THE HORROR.

Raiden wore a skin suit. Wouldn't put it past him.
Also, I've beaten all the Snake Tales in MGS2, was a very fun set of missions.
Bought the hd collection out of boredom, never played MGS before. Holy shit that series is awesome.
My only big complaints about MGS3 are scientists and The Boss. Scientists are annoying because unlike soldiers they directly trigger alert the instant they see you, no surprise time or whatever. The Boss has one of the most annoying final battles in god damn history.
did you just say the boss final battle was annoying
i'm going to have to ask you to leave

I found her quite easy to be honest. Try fighting Peace Walker bosses on their harder side-mission variants.

Best metal gear solid game.
They should make the 5th one the same type.
Just ordered the PS3 version from Amazon for £28

They might blend that gameplay/level progression with Peace Walker micro-management from looks of it.
