Well now you have to play it.
These are my rankings for the MGS series from best to worst.
MGS3
MGS1
Peacewalker
MGS4
MGS2
Portable ops
since they are probably gonna have mgs5 on pc they should also port this to pc
Damn. Didn't remember that MGS 3 would get that emotional in the end. That was manly tears territory.

Anyone on Xbox have a good high level intel soldier they could trade?
I'm trying to get the rank 2 soliton radar, and hit a stump trying to rearrange my teams.
Will trade back if whoever gives needs it back
mgs4 was like kojima kicked you in the balls but at the same time gave you some drugs and a box of twinkies.
it was completely NOT what they made it out to be. during development they pomised wide open areas and you'd constantly be in the middle of a battle.
there are only two levels where you're constantly in the middle of a battle but both levels are so short i'd say out of the 5 levels the game has, there's only one level with actual gameplay.
the rest is a giant handjob to the fans. while i admit i enjoyed greatly [sp]beating the shit out of the pussy assed ray with rex, epic microwave corridor scene and a fist fight on the top of the philosopher's or whatever's giant boat submarine with liquid ocelot[/sp] mgs4 has absolutely no replay value at all.

Rescue Chico mission has a S rank intel, hes a sniper though, so you need the fulton mines or the fulton launcher to get him.

I still watch that final fight from time to time. I was absolutely amazed the first time I did it.

Here's my opinion:
I'm glad that only 2 acts were in the middle of a battle, mostly because that way the game wont just turn into a shooter. In the first act, there's little to no need to actually sneak around.
I absolutely loved the second act though, that was very fun and I loved sneaking in it.
Third act is my least favourite. Mostly because it was piss easy and I hate both driving sections and tailing/escorting.
Fourth act was ok. I hated the armballthings, but it was still fairly challenging and the ending was great.
Fifth act is a mixed bag. I hated the opening and the fight with Screaming Mantis, but after that everything was incredibly awesome.
Also, I completely disagree that MGS4 has no replay value. I've completed it 5 times and I'm still not bored of it.
5 REPLAYS, THERE'S NO GAMEPLAY AT ALL ARE YOU A MACHINE OR SOMETHING.
metal gear solid's gameplay involves you and a bunch of dudes looking for you.
in this installment we were promised they'd be looking for you but they'd also be fighting each other.
what we got was two half levels of action, a shitload of fan service and three other levels with either lame gameplay or weird out of place elements (the third is the worst offender, then the 4th level, the only fucking enemy are these gay little robot arm ball things that shock you.)
also in metal gear solid (especially after mgs3) it's "tactical espionage action". YOU CAN GET THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME GOING GUNS BLAZING EASY. so don't tell me that it would have just turned into a shooter. and the people developing the game would have found a way to make stealth worth while if all the levels had actual gameplay in them.
YOU in the end are the person playing the game and YOU can decide if you want to sneak, shoot, or a combo of both.
it's the same with the hitman games. you can do a level guns blazing but it's simply less satisfying to do so.

mgs4 was cool as far as the whole saga goes but as a game itself it doesn't even have enough consistent gameplay in it for me to consider it a game. it's more of a movie game, like heavy rain.
I still think the world needs a Liquid Snake soundboard with "BROTHHHHAAAAAAA" in one giant red button in the middle. Seriously. The [sp] final fight on top of Outer Haven was so fucking awesome. I mean seriously, Kojima was so kissing my dick for fanservice at that point [/sp]
no shit, you face off against two of the biggest bad guys of the series of all time, AT THE SAME TIME.
The Boss has one of the most annoying final battles in god damn history.
The Boss is my favourite final boss battle in history :v:
oh man, when the snake eater theme kicks in. So awesome.

Well, kind of.
[sp]Liquid never actually took control over Ocelot, he just trained himself to act like Liquid.[/sp]
the fury was the coolest out of the cobras besides the sorrow.
he had the lamest boss battle though. i dunno why i had so much trouble with it the first time. the second time i beat him first try, i was even playing one difficulty level higher.

i don't remember that ever... being revealed. even then what's the point in him [sp]pretending?[/sp]

MGS4 had amazing gameplay, i've played it through like 3 times and i'm on my 4th right now.
It's so amazing.
Did I just see Octocamo being used in the second minute of the video?
WTF?
That's the moss camo he got from The End. :)
Well, kind of.
[sp]Liquid never actually took control over Ocelot, he just trained himself to act like Liquid.[/sp]
And in the end, he wasn't really a bad guy, since all he did was "help" you taking down the patriots.
The fact the story is so full of twists and turns is what sells it for me.
It was revealed in the ending cutscenes of MGS4.

5:10 onwards
I should have the collection by tomorrow. At possibly the worst time this year it could arrive for my uni course as I am starting a project the same week, oh boy.
How is the Peace Walker "upgrade" anyway? I've seen the MGS 2/3 upgrades, but I haven't seen the peace walker one at all.
[sp] Basically Ocelot never gave up on Big Boss. That and the idea of the Boss' perfect world order. Though he might have been a bit biased. If I remember correctly, Boss was his mother [/sp] or some shit
[sp]If I remember correctly, Boss was his mother [/sp] or some shit
It's highly implied, but I'm not sure if it's ever explicitly stated.
did you just say the boss final battle was annoying
i'm going to have to ask you to leave
Run away, rpg-7 her face off, run away, rpg-7, rinse and repeat.
I don't even get why they gave her a gun in the first place. She's supposed to be the most talented melee fighter on the planet and she uses a gun.
Given how important this fight is story-wise and how good the kojima team was they really should have just made specific controls and mechanics for this one part of the game, instead of forcing unadapted controls over a boss battle that doesn't feel right to me.

The worst part is that it forced classic-cam to be used

So, you used the RPG on a single person over and over, and you expected the fight to be fun?
I just bought this even though I really can't afford it.
I'm off to play MGS2 weeeeeeee
I've only played MGS3 :\
It's highly implied, but I'm not sure if it's ever explicitly stated.
i'm pretty god damn sure it's true and that it wasn't just implied.
[editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
wait, i wondered this before now i'm wondering it again.
if [sp]drebin put teh foxdie in snake, then why is he at the wedding?[/sp]
[editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
okay you know what, fuck it.
even if most of the game is a movie game i have to replay this shit in full. the plot is my fav.... and it's been a while since my last playthrough and i skipped all the cutscenes i could on that one.
It was Naomi who gave snake the foxdie
[editline]4th March 2012[/editline]
Actually thinking about it I think drebin injects another foxdie thing.
I've played all the MGS games and am not sure
