How much of MGS1 can you play while on the helicopter over Shadow Moses in MGS4?

Unless there is some sort of secret time limit I have yet to hear about, my understanding is that you can't just do nothing during that flashback.
The vent is the only way to continue as far as I know, although I have not tried dying yet.
IIRC dying is the same as getting through the vent, except you dont get the MGS1 facecamo.
If you die it takes you to the game over screen where you can start over or quit. If you quit Snake wakes up. You get the camo regardless.
What's a good strategy for getting through the Eastern Europe Bike sequence if you're going for The Big Boss or Foxhound emblem (you know, no rations, no kills, etc.). I can't remember how I got through that part, and probably a few other parts, not killing or using rations.

Use the Cold War camo, since it makes the enemies not shoot at you if you're facing them.

Having not played MGS4 I wasn't sure if he was talking about a bike section in it or that he was playing MGS3 on European Extreme. v:v:v
I loved the flashbacks in mgs4, especially the [sp] end fight with liquid where the healthbars change as they were in each game, and liquid and snake attack slower and move slower as the games progress[/sp]
Can't get enough of Metal Gear Rising, especially since I just got done going through other games by Platinum Games.
Warning, video is recorded on a phone duct taped to 4 stacked cardboard boxes to stay in place, so audio is shit but everything is clear.

I wish I could try the demo, but I hear the Zone of the Enders HD port is botched. Instead of asking Bluepoint Games for help (they did the HD collections for Ico/SotC, God of War, and MGS) Konami got High Voltage to do it. Just look at this shit.

The collection is working pretty swell for me, haven't had any issues so far.
Bought the HD collection back in the Army but sold it. Im trying to get ahold of MGS 1 for my Ps1. MGS1 is probably one of my favorite video games of all time.

First part is easy comparing to the next ones and you should try to complete it without getting hit, you may want to throw stun grenades into soldiers groups.
The second part is the hardest and you're going to rely on luck, first group of soldiers on the right is one of the most annoying-fucking things here as they're almost always hitting you at least once, but it's possible to avoid them if stun grenade is tossed right (hell knows how exactly).
When you're standing in front of the first car-blockade, start with throwing some stuns and switch to Solar Gun. Somewhy, it doesn't require full-charged shot now to be nice and you can beat them all in one-two hits. It's also a place where you're often getting hit too.
When you're jumping above another car-blockade, shoot everybody with Solar Gun AND AUTO_AIM, it's much easier. After landing just do it like on previous blockade.
Then there'll be a lot of frogs and shit around, there I tried to combine spaming the stun grenades and auto-aim solar, but I think it didn't help me really, it was more about luck and surviving. Also remember that you can finish the second part with 1% health and then you'll get it replenished.
The third part is a lot like the end of the second part and you just try to keep it up, and shoot the flying birdies with P90.
By the way, I have no idea why I wrote this as I could just ask to visit damn GameFAQs.

Don't have the Solar Gun yet though. I had it before when I still had my original data...also a dumb thing happened. I'm currently on my second play through, and both play throughs, I did non lethal on all the beauties. But on this play through, I still did not see the Laughing Octopus statue. It's happened to me before. I guess it's a glitch or something. But When the statue should of been available to collect, it wasn't.
Also this run I'm doing no kills, no alerts on Big Boss Hard, but I'm watching all the cutscenes [again] because I didn't get the flashback trophy first time around.
Cool but i'd rather they ported it to PC for the anniversary, not just rereleased it (i also don't get the point, since you can still buy the original release?)
You can still buy the original release, but this one would probably have all the updates on disk already.
It'd be cool if they did a version with a shitload of added content, like, you know, they did with MGS1/2/3.
