The only shotgun you can use on the bike is the double barreled sawn off one.

I some how got through the South America shootout part just using the tranq, stun grenades, Mosin Nagent, the shotgun that has non lethal ammo, and the mounted machine gun to obviously take out Gekko. I'm right at the bike part in Europe, and I don't have the Solar Gun. I once did the part without it before. I don't know how, but I managed to do it....maybe it was on Naked Normal or something. I probably used rations as well. I might as well try it again and use rations since I'm not going to get any of those good emblems since I'm watching the cutscenes in this run in an effort to get those secret flashbacks and get the flashback trophy. I won't have the solar gun next run either since there is a glitch where sometimes that Laughing Octopus statue doesn't fucking show up even if you did non lethal on her. I think next run will be a having fun with the stealth camo run. Since I'm doing no alerts and trying to do no kills as well.

Finished MGS4 last night. Man, I'm so glad I decided to play through the series. Pretty surprised I was able to finish the games within a few months, and enjoy them overall. MGS2 and MGS3 ended up being one of my favorite games ever (I prefer MGS3 by a slim margin). I'll pick up Peace Walker eventually, but I'm still thinking about replaying the series. You know that feeling when you finish an amazing game and you're not sure what to play afterwards? That's pretty much what I'm like right now.

That's certainly how I feel about mgs1. I spent an entire summer one time just beating it over and over again and it never stopped being fun.

I just beat Act 1 of MGS 4. Took me almost 5 hours.
