Playstation move looks like a terrible Wii remote ripoff.
Even though the games are adult oriented.
They're not.
Nintendo had Miis, I think that they are first.

I think the Wii had that first.
As someone who has both a 360 and a Wii: Miis absolutely came first. 360 avatar people came much later, as a mandatory update.
Everyone copies Nintendo. Especially the Nintendo themselves, their game haven't changed since the first Mario game.

You know....Half-Life is a Mario clone, Mass Effect is a Zelda clone and World of Warcrap is a pure rip-off of Pokémon.
Everything is built on stolen ideas. Music, television, novels, comics. You improve on things by stealing the idea and making it different or better.
You call it copying,
I call it progression.
I thought Sony was ripping off the wii controller with the motion thing. It serves no real purpose than gimmicks. I can't think of ONE instance where the ability to turn the controller would make the game more fun.
If you have time and want something good to read (if you haven't read this already), here's a good link that's somehow related: http://malstrom.50webs.com/birdman.html
Note that this has been written in 2008.
So if PS3 has the Camera toy like Natal, and now has the Motion Wand like Wii, does that make it better than both of them?
:smug:
But you know, maybe Move is like the Wii but no Microsoft thingy.
Voted yes.
Like mingebox said in the first reply, it's how the game industry works. Everyone copies everyone.
Even though the games are adult oriented.
And the controller is much more accurate.
I mean The Wii console had 3D avatars, and now Microsoft has 3D avatars that you can also use in game(I think its ridiculous that you have to buy clothes).
Agree times a fucking billion!
Those stupid con men at Microsoft make us pay like 20 dollars for a dumb costume that no-one sees or cares about yet SUP3R 1337 D0CH3B4GZ buy all of them to show off how much they 'care'. However, the Miis were created as a icon to denote the player during local matches, which is a charming feature when playing with your friends or family especially.
Nintendo made the revolutionary Wii with motion control, and now Sony and Microsoft are perfecting it.
Once you play the Wii, and realize only a flick of the wrist instead of a full punch will work, you start doing that, and the Sony and Microsoft products are making it so you get more interactive.
Not with MotionPlus.
The Move basically uses the same technology as a Wii Remote with the MotionPlus attachment. The only main difference is that the Move wand has a big glowing ball at the end which is tracked by the Playstaion Eye.
Yes, But I feel the wii is different enough for it not to really be copying because the wiimote uses an infrared emitter(sensor bar) and infrared Receiver (in the wiimote) while the eyetoy uses pure color tracking. The wiimote also has motion sensors in it.
sounds more like a fanboy of nintendo here
sounds more like a fanboy of nintendo here
Huh? There's a huge difference between motion tracking built in to a controller and motion tracking using a camera.
Nobody has copied Wii Fit yet!
Probably because it was a white board that didn't make you fit. Neither did it serve any potential in the gaming market for FPS shooters or racing games :smith:
Nintendo copied off of Greek myths and other old stories tales, like Mario Bros. A princess gets captured by a beast and some dude goes through trials to get to her back, tons of old stories are like that.
Wolfenstein 3D is what made the FPS genre what it is today (arguably it is the start of what is currently known as the FPS genre)
Seldom does media meet the interactivity of FPS games. It is hugely comprehensive, being the video game genre with probably the largest total spending and profit in the world. It has a huge variety in gameplay (from crysis to portal to garrys mod) and setting...
Actually I would have put Quake down as being the real ground breaker. Wolfenstein 3D was pretty gangsta but we still had other similar games.
Quake really set it off, my 28.8k modem nearly exploded playing this bad boy.
It also sparked the creation of Quakespy, a great tool you could use to find a game of Quake near you. Then you have to look at all the great mods for Quake World that still recur today like CTF, Rocket Arena and Team Fortress (though to be fair I'm sorta of losing track here, as those mods weren't made by ID)
Just thinking about this game just makes me want to splurge in a beautiful climax of nostalgia.
Nintendo needs another 64 not a silly arm waving wii.
Move and Natal will kill Wii.
Considering its on a better system that means more games then the Super Mario crap and all that Nintendo shit thats old.
RUSE for move ftw :)
Didn't Sony have plans to make move in 2006? Also I'm pretty sure the sixaxis came before the wiimote too. Nintendo are copying Sony.
Didn't Sony have plans to make move in 2006? Also I'm pretty sure the sixaxis came before the wiimote too. Nintendo are copying Sony.
Sixaxis was announced weeks after the Wii.
Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are all ripping off Atari! They all have games and controllers. Coincidence? I think not!
Nintendo is a very innovative company and I do think other companies copy their ideas, but I don't blame them for it. While Nintendo did not create the idea of the analog stick, they made it popular. Motion control is the same thing, motion control is attempted almost every generation of gaming (look at the Power Glove and Eye Toy) but Nintendo finally got it right with the Wii, and while it wasn't perfect, it worked well enough. Now the other companies want to make motion control too.
The only thing I think was blatantly copied was the avatars on 360 from Mii's on Wii.
Everyone is copying Microsoft
Nintendo's reaction to Kinect?

Everyone copied the SNES controller
imo companies take ideas and add their own touch to them.
When it came to avatars, Microsoft copied Nintendo (like, literally, some of the eye and mouth shapes are extremely similar to options on the Wii), which in turn, Sony copied Microsoft and a bit of 2ndLife. Then when it came to motion control, Sony copied the Wiimote and Sony-ized it. Then Microsoft stepped in and said "bitches, we don't need a controller!" and the Kinect was born.
