It's not so much that the ideas for the control systems are similar, that's alright, it's that the games being developed for these things are the exact same casual/gimmick centered shit they've been peddling for years on the Wii. There are going to be practically no games that use the technology to is full because MS and Sony are trying to turn them into Wii ripoffs, when they could be so much more. Let Nintendo handle the casual kiddie franchise shit and let the others actually grow beyond that.

Wasn't the Eyetoy basically just a webcam? I mean, my friend had a webcam for his computer in the late 90s that came with simple little games, like popping bubbles on screen or knocking a basketball into a hoop
Sony has been researching Motion Control for years. I present you, the Playstation 2's EyeToy
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e0/Wii_Sports_Europe.jpg[/img_thumb]
That's basically a tech demo that came with the console. Nintendo put out good games like Metroid and Zelda.
Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are all ripping off Atari! They all have games and controllers. Coincidence? I think not!
The real man's console.
When it came to avatars, Microsoft copied Nintendo (like, literally, some of the eye and mouth shapes are extremely similar to options on the Wii), which in turn, Sony copied Microsoft and a bit of 2ndLife. Then when it came to motion control, Sony copied the Wiimote and Sony-ized it. Then Microsoft stepped in and said "bitches, we don't need a controller!" and the Kinect was born.
Well, apparently Microsoft and Rare were already working on the avatars before the Miis were announced, though it's still kind of a rip-off...
