Top gun special.
That thing is a beast.
Was drawn with one in an encounter game recently while in my 48. He ripped up and IS4 in one clip with a little help from me and then took some damage while reloading, with nowhere to hide as they noticed he was refilling clip. I was at full health and he had about 450 hp left, so I pulled in front of him to soak two hits while he reloaded and then he ripped most of an IS8 and a full health T34 to shreds, we held the flank and won the game narrowly, both surviving.
Normally if I do that I get 'NOOB BLOCKER' spam. He just said 'Thanks 48'.
Warm and fuzzy feelings for getting an appreciative teammate who knows a good deed when he sees one.
I love it when stuff like this happens, and if I have the time, I'll normally thank whoever is responsible for taking a risk and helping me out of possible danger, like a T-50-2 that zips by and circles a T34, distracting it from finishing off my 10% health Lorraine and allowing me to blow it to smithereens. Even general communication between teammates is nice, like another medium tank asking if my autoloader is reloaded before making an attack. It's good to know not everyone is a retard.
I personally loved the Pershing, but the gobal statistics say it's lagging behind on ever other T8 medium in existence, including the god damn Type 59.
Also about the German line, I can't exactly comment on the Panther II but the Panther was one of the least pleasant grind I've had in this game so far. Yes, the high pen and accuracy are nice but the DPM is null and the damn thing gets ammo racked and set on fire every match.
Agreed on both counts. Pershing was fun as hell and the Panther was like driving around in a box made of C4 pained with thermite.
Overall the American medium grind has been exponentially more pleasant than the German one. Besides the M5 Stuart and it's shitty tier 4 light matchmaking I don't think I haven't enjoyed a single tank in this line.
Warthunder isn't really any better right now, there is absolutely NO communication between it's developer and the NA Community, and there defiantly is a Soviet-bias.
Well I'm definatly having more fun with Warthunder regardless of what's going on with the development aspects. I'm definatly not going to pay for it though, spent far too much supporting world of tanks and not really ending up with a game I hoped it'd be.

There is no Soviet-bias, first spitfires were OP now the russian planes are.
Give them time.
I'll probably hop into War Thunder when they get tanks, I'm not that interested in planes.
It always grinds my nuts when I realise that the flank I'm on isn't getting anywhere so I decide to drive balls to the walls to run a distraction so my team can advance.
No wait, my team is too busy worrying about scratching their paint so I die in vain, surrounded by the enemy team and called a noob by my own.

I had fun for about a week but bombing is boring and dogfights is just circling and winning because your plane statistically out turns yours.
Way better than World of Warplanes though.

For me it was more a result of "get in biplane, get owned by a lone Spitfire bullet stream".
I've just had an epic game with Chaffee. 10 kills, shittons of expierience... and then I woke up :saddowns:
Bloody hell, entire morning has been like this.

for fucks sake this game tries to piss you off.
Just had a match, and at the end where the credit counter was counting down or whatever, I saw "180 000" and I was happy as fuck and then it went to 80k
:(
Loving the M5 Stuart.

spershings are scary

Easy*
I seriously never have problems with them, the weakspots are glaringly exposed and even my KV-3 hits them reliably. The gun is never good enough to pen my tanks or the mobility of the tank good enough to hide its sides or weakspots.
[editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
Its almost like a skill test to face one.
low tiers omg
why would a wespe go direct fire the whole game
and teams that ALL GO ONE WAY and try rush the cap, leave you to get steamrolled on your side.
of course all of them are russian or polish so they dont understand you when you call them back. then when you lose they have a fit in the chat.
fuckers

I fail to see how they're "Glaringly" exposed, there are, five weakspots on the front, all of which are tiny, two of which are still dicerolls even if you hit them.
and the gaps on the turret are actually there so the spaced armor doesn't impede the gun depression and elevation, so they are at least, functional.
31 hits taken at about a 200 metre range from a KV-4, an IS, a T20, a Cearnervon, a KV-1S, a T-43, and a Tiger II.
Only two of those penetrated. AC Mle.48, best frontal armor 2013.
It only needs one, the one on top of the turret. Almost as big a target as the R2D2 on the KV5. Added to which, many SPersh drivers are used to absorbing stuff from noobs shooting their glacis, so just sit there and take it when they meet someone who knows what they're doing. ("OMG,OMG gold ammo"). Good SPersh drivers who keep moving can be tough though, but that's the same for most well armoured tanks.

You NEED gold to kill it most of the time, still have had 260 pen guns get absorbed by the front hull and even a BL-10 shot bounce off the forehead weakspot.
it's not THAT big of a weakspot, and half the crosshair is going to be up in the sky and the other half is going to be sitting on the super reinforced mantle of doom so even shooting that fails occasionally, which makes fighting other SP a bitch.
Every SP driver I've met in my own SP was an easy kill. I don't know what the lesson is there. :v:
[editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
I usually shoot at the turret through the gap in the external plate, not at the cupola behind the tubes.

Not saying they're easy. Just that the top left of turret weakspot is a decent size target and will be penetrated reliably by pretty much anything it comes up against.
If you hide that weakspot I will be able to shoot at back of turret beyond the spaced armour, which is made of cheese.
It's just a brilliant noob killer.
I usually shoot at the turret through the gap in the external plate, not at the cupola behind the tubes.
There is just a small risk that your shot gets soaked by a hit on the gun barrel, but works most of the time.
erratically moving the turret back and forth has caused several misses and bounces from people who shoot at the tubes, so there's another level of random already thrown into a tank full of it.
also the SP relies more on Shock advances to counteract the point and click adventure game that becomes shooting at most tanks weakspots.
[editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
WOW all three people who usually disagree with my opinions on premium tanks disagreed with my previous post

How many are me?
