It's painful to see 150+mm guns ricocheting in WoT
First pic is panther's hull being hit by 152mm AP at 1200m distance. Second is panther's turret being hit by 152mm HE.

Appears they're removing it from the "main line", probably won't connect to the Jagdtiger anymore.
So if you want the JT, grind it before they sever the connection or you'll have to go through the Ferd again.
Is ferd really that bad? Still on Stug, so I can't form an opinion.
It's not that it's bad, it's just that power creep means that 200mm frontal just isn't enough anymore and getting frontally penned by just about everything.

Also slow as fuck until you get engines and tracks and using the 105 or 88 for 60k xp is very painful.

Surely they'll compensate it by moving the xp to the ferdi or something? Would be stupid if they wouldn't, but then again, it's Wargaming.

For the love of dicks. Well I can't be bothered grinding the Jagtiger now and i'm going to be avoiding this game for a month or two once my premium is up in a few days. Hopefully at least now I unlocked the topgun it will still be unlocked for the ferdinand so I can go via that way sometime later. If not then just fuck it completley.

i wouldn't call it bad really
it still has the great 128mm gun and decent armor for tier 8
the problem is that it faces so many big guns nowadays, which makes the armor useless, so you might aswell go for the JP2 which has the same gun but is a lot faster

Ferd is much better in T8 battles than the JP2 because of the loads of tier 6-7 tanks having trouble with its armor, and the JP2 fares much better in T10s because the ferd's armor becomes useless there.

Why do you have the Borgward Leopard (or the Leopard Gruppe C, whatever you want to call it) as a TD? It was a Leopard prototype. One of the only reasons it wasn't chosen to [i]be[/i] the Leo I is because it wasn't finished in time.
Also, the Kanonenjagdpanzer wasn't built until 1960, and the gun was hilariously mediocre, even at the time (unable to pen the T-64 or T-72 at any reasonable range), which is why it was obsoleted so quickly.

Sure but I had way too many VK3601 pens my ferd frontally. It's not a good tank, although it has a very good gun

I think the JP2 is harder to penetrate frontally than the Ferdinand. It might be because I don't really no where to aim and the few I have met hide their lower glacis.

Even with gold rounds, the short 88 only has 171 pen. There is no way for it to pen the front of a ferdinand, unless he hit your hull corners, which even then is a stretch with the quite awful accuracy of the short 88.

There is also the lower plate which is very weak, and you say this like it's impossible right after admitting it's entirely possible
Not to mention pen randomization means a short 88 with gold rounds could even punch through the super structure

Didn't see the D-20M thing (it looks more like Ф-20 something to me). According to the wikipedia article, D-20M is a post-soviet modification of existing D-20, which makes no sense at all : why would russians test modern artillery pieces against rare WW2 tanks that belong to a museum and then take black and white photos of it? Also why would they write the "D" with latin letters?
Осколочно-Фугасный literally translates like fragmentation - high-explosive. Honestly If you know any HE rounds that do not fragmentate after explosion then you must share your knowledge with me.

Gold ammo for 88 L/56 can roll up to 220~ so it couldn't pen the superstructure. The lower isn't that thick but it's sloped, you'd be shooting down on it and the short 88s accuracy isn't that great.
