dude, the entire front hull is just 100mm not to mention the 60mm lower glacis
the only part that is hard to pen is the very tiny, highly sloped 150mm thick superstructure and the area around the gun which is an 180mm strip of armor, if you ding the jp2 you're doing it wrong

Well, using stats, the 171 pen with short 88 APCR can roll up to 25% up, but it can also roll down up to 25% as well. Even then it's not a guaranteed roll up, so its a very low chance it'll roll over 200 pen, even then the ferdi will almost never be dead on to you, so you gotta account for those dynamic angles, as well. It's probably, now don't quote me on this, somewhere in like 5-10%, if that, chance to roll above 200. I'm sorry but your anecdotal claim that half the time it penned you seems really unlikely. I really enjoyed the ferdi when I've played it, its armor did seem quite reliable, especially at range.

ferdi has about 210 effective armor, and that's if it's pointing directly at the VK without any angling
factoring in any sort of angles put on it, there's no way even gold will pen
now your lower glacis and headlights are a different story

Yep, the superstructure is basically diamonds to most tier 6s and one or two tier 7s, the corners and lower hull are weak yeah, but they're really ridiculously hard to hit at range, which is where you should be if you can help it.

I'm not saying it ever did pen superstructure (for me) just that it could
The headlights/side-angled front attract so many random shots as to make its front armor completely nonviable. The lower plate is the place people aim when they know how to pen it frontally.
Before I realized the armor scheme was the same as the tiger P (oops) I would just fire randomly at the lower half and penetrate often enough for me not to consider alternatives

"Effective armor" implies its thickness when counting the angle just fyi, it's not completely flat.

Once the "!" gets ticked on you have to kill all the cappers to stop it
I have seen very few games where that's happened though, and NEVER where all cappers died but enemy tanks remained in the field
Once the ! ticks, you're pretty much not going to win.

You can spend gold to convert exp accumulated off elite vehicles (all research unlocked) into free exp (can be spent on anything, not just the tank it was gained on)
The rate is 1 gold per 25 exp, afaik

Alright, I'm quite enjoying the French heavy line so far... but I'm also very, very tempted to go up the American autoloader line.
Do the French tanks have [i]any[/i] advantage over the Americans? I know the T71 shits all over the 13 75 in every way possible, so I also wonder if that line will be nerfed at all in the future? Or is it just a case of power creep, where the devs don't give a crap about my frog tanks?
