7 shots-1395 damage on an IS-3 with my Tiger. Holy crap, Damaged him with every shot.
What are the discounts on tanks for EU ?
This is the part Crumpet left out of his comparison:
50% discount on the following tanks from the Chinese Tech tree:
- Tier IV M5A1 Stuart
- Tier VI 59-16
- Tier VII WZ-131
- Tier V Type T-34
- Tier VI Type 58
- Tier VII T-34-1
- Tier VII IS-2
And to wrap it up, 50% additional credits earned with all of the tanks listed above (except WZ-131, our Tank of the Month)!
Also, I believe wargamming messed up the labeling of the British TD images.

This is the AT-15, not the tortoise. This picture also shows that the AT-15 will be getting the 94mm.

The actual tortoise.

Answers
Storm on some changes in 8.4:
- lower frontal armor angle on Panther and vehicles based on its hull increased to historical 55 degrees (Jagdpanther, GW Panther, Panzer V/IV and others, does not concern Panther II and E-50)
- lower frontal armor angle on T-44 reduced to historical 45 degrees
- Caernarvon, Conqueror and FV215b - increased armor thickness of the meeting point between upper and lower frontal hull armor (203, 203, 254)
- Nvidia SLI support added
- removed the "exterior" hangar button blocking when the crew is incomplete
- (SS: I am really not sure what this means - an automatic chat log) added the ingame chat addressing (logging?) option - with or without autosave
- for vehicles and crews with Intuition perk and autoloader, when the the perk is triggered, it'll reload the whole autoloader and not just one cassette
- arty-mode FPS drop fixed for some configurations
- FPS in hangar limited to 60 FPS
- re-worked and optimalized the tank exhaust smoke effect
- returned the possibility to retrain the crew to a tank you don't physically own in the hangar - a special warning window added for this case
- added the fullscreen windowed mode ("maximize" button on the window)
- fixed the bug where the bug where the turret and gun barrel get stuck if a shell hits the turret
- fixed left speaker weird sound on some configurations, occuring after a shot
- fixed the bug with ammo reload when changing turrets
- fixed the bug where the barrel gets stuck in some cases when you aim at near obstacles
So much for the article. Storm explains some things in the discussion:
- the 60FPS limit in hangar is for the reason that some graphic cards try to generate very high FPS and therefore get too much used in the hangar, Storm also states Vsync didn't work, at least not always
- regarding the fact it was banned to retrain crews to vehicles not physically present in the garage: "We solved that and decided more harm than good would come out of it"
- Malinovka and Westfield assault mode gets removed for re-work, because they were imbalanced: Westfield more than Malinovka
- Storm doesn't know why Sexton I counts as "American"
- Caernarvon, Conqueror and FV215b have the same amount of fuel tank hitpoints as other tanks of the same tier
- "test will show" about the statistics of the VK2801
- test will "not start this week" (SS: they probably don't want to collide with the Chinese weekend)
- garage chat channel history: "when it's done it's done"
- Pz IC and Pz IIG armament? "it will be seen in the test"
- tier 10 Brit HESH ammo won't be changed to HEAT/APDS soon, as far as Storm know
[editline]8th February 2013[/editline]
t7 panther series are getting a huge lfp buff, basically from around 80mm effective to 100mm effective, should make them much harder to pen by low tier guns (like sherman's 76 etc) and cause more random dings overall
Also, if those numbers are correct, in addition to the 228mm, the gun will have an additional 225mm of armor directly around it.
This is the part Crumpet left out of his comparison:
That's actually a useful discount/credit bonus list for once.

whaaat, how am I late...only some answers are shared among the QnA's.
They're actually BUFFING a german tank? Has hell frozen over or something?
They're actually BUFFING a german tank? Has hell frozen over or something?
Well, they did give the Tiger a mantlet buff/rework, so its not like its new or anything.
I got Caernarvon, btw.
Any tips?
My biggest problem is that my turret crew keeps purchasing preposterous amounts of agricultural buildings.
Not sure if I have posted this before but I remember the game sweetly.
Everyone was dead so I went to hunt the arty. Right at their base when we start getting capped. get back to our base at 95, arty is spotted at 99 and I shoot when it says base capped, but victory anyway. Holy fuck

If we're looking at those magic moments, here's one i had from ... either 8.1 or 8.2 public test. I am beating myself for never getting around to videofy it!

Want to get a premium tank to help with credits and xp, the T34 is the best money maker for the U.S. line so I went to buy the gold thinking "12k gold cant be that much" then I saw its $45. Wont be buying that for a while.
Might just get the T14, how does that tank fare?

Get the 20pdr as fast as possible. Protect the left side of your lower front plate because that's where the ammo rack is. Try to put yourself in positions to maximize your sustained fire because you have a relatively low alpha. Be aware that you are bigger than a T95 and an easy artillery target. Turret has good armor and depression, use that when you can.
It plays a lot like a Tiger II with the 88/L71, but with a bigger and more flawed hull design, slightly faster top speed, a more accurate gun with higher penetration, and ammo that is inexplicably twice as expensive.

If you want a tier 5 premr, get Churchill instead, way more easier to use.

Yeah, I knew most of this except the LEFT side being Ammorack, I just presumed it's the whole of it, that's handy.
And the problem is not really well armored at all. People keep penetrating just under my mantlet or in case of big guns, just shooting through (murdering the crew happily).
It's absolute armoring is worse than on Black Prince, except the very UFP, and I am not even speaking about taking the higher tier into consideration.
It's definitely not bad, I like it, but it's one of these "just try to never get shot at" vehicles".

Pretty much. It's not a great tank, but when put into situations where you can take advantage of its strengths it can be an enjoyable one.
The problem with the turret is that it has great armor in a lot of places, but it also has some pretty glaring weakspots. Against a same-tier and below player or someone who doesn't know what they're doing you can bounce a lot of stuff on your turret. Really the best you can do is keep enough distance between you and your target that they can't accurately shoot at weakpoints.
The Caernarvon plays very German, and is best suited as a distant sniper unless it's top tier. It's a complete 180 from the Churchill infantry tank line of thinking, and starts to dip into the post-war thinking of agile tanks with only moderate armor and a big gun. Although, the Caernarvon is before the "big gun" part. That's where the Conquerer comes in. Speaking of which, if you plan on getting the Conquerer make sure to get everything on the Caernarvon first, because they share a lot of equipment and the Conquerer without its L1A1 cannon is worthless at tier 9.

Be prepared, the Conqueror stock is EXACTLY the same with a bit more hp, but a tier higher. The researchable Conqueror turret is bigger and worse armoured, so you end up with 80k+ of grinding the L7 gun on the Conqueror as a Caernarvon to look forward to as well. Hold back when you can and use your pen/dpm/strong mantlet hull down as much as you can.
(You will also notice how much worse the gun depression on Conq top turret too. Bigger, softer, less depression vs. slightly more hp + slightly higher Rof = keep stock turret until you have the gun upgrade. My opinion only).
Final Edit : I think a fully upgrarded Conqueror is the best looking tank in WoT, a proper man's tank. Maybe I'm British biased, but I recognise a lot of the Brit tanks are butt ugly.
Yeah and Conqueror actually has less angled UFP, so the very only strong piece of armor on Caernarvon is also worse...
I am in no rush either way, I don't plan to get a taste of FV215b. I will wait till it's clear what it's going to get replaced with. I might not bother with Conqueror, even, if I am not satisfied.
I am so far rather happy with Caernarvon and believe it will be fun when elited. Conqueror and FV215b sound just awful.
