What has been their justification for no skill-based MM? I don't recall them ever giving a reason.
What has been their justification for no skill-based MM? I don't recall them ever giving a reason.
basically their answer is that shit teams are part of the experience
lmao multi turrets in 2015
- CS-strike modes (bomb-defuse, VIP assassination) cannot be handled by random players, the game is aimed at casuals, a part of the game playerbase never played games before
This is why we can't have nice things. I mean, I understand WG, they are sorta forced to choose their demographic, but it makes me sad anyway, because there's no comparable game to actually cater the non-braindead crowd.
How effective would artillery firing on the move be, if engineered for such actions with about late World War II tech? I figure this is the absolute right place to ask. I'm jotting down some ideas for fictional setting, and one of nations involved uses constantly moving armor somewhere in between German Blitzkriegs and Russia's "throw tons of T-34s at them." Was wondering if such an ideas is feasible, or would be more likely to hit their own troops/have no effect? It's not meant to be laser accurate - more for psychological effect. Caliber would average somewhere in the 100-200mm range.
Artillery with dead reckoning is accurate to a few hundred meters So on the move you might as well draw a circle a few kilometers wide
If it's on bumpy ground, it will be also a circle more or less centered on the vehicle and not much allowing for aiming anywhere specific.
Artillery with dead reckoning is accurate to a few hundred meters So on the move you might as well draw a circle a few kilometers wide
So basically, entirely worthless and assault guns/tanks of similar caliber would be more effective?
So basically, entirely worthless and assault guns/tanks of similar caliber would be more effective?
Generally accuracy of almost everything was horribly shit on the move during WWII as there were no stabilizers and such.
Generally accuracy of almost everything was horribly shit on the move during WWII as there were no stabilizers and such.
The M4 had a stabilizer, didn't it?
Oh, it did. Nevermind, then.
FUCK YES for tracer overhaul

In the case of SPGs it's the same, such actions would be pure shell waste.
They should add more game modes, such as bomb defuse (sounds kinda retarded, but anyways; it would be fun) Even if they target "casuals", the bomb defuse should be optional + selected (not in the random battles queue)
The M4 had a stabilizer, didn't it?
Yes. It also had a constant BBQ party mode engaged.

Just a reminder for anyone joining us tonight for company battles. Make sure you have mumble ( the info is on the first page) up and running ahead of time. makes communicating loads easier. We will be doing see absolutes if we can, and lower ones if we cannot. Doesn't matter if you have a tier ten, come anyway. Once again, company battles will be an hour from now (8-9 EST). This is for the na server.
This is why we can't have nice things. I mean, I understand WG, they are sorta forced to choose their demographic, but it makes me sad anyway, because there's no comparable game to actually cater the non-braindead crowd.
This is really what happens when games are F2P. I mean aside from the old "lol f2p attracts stupid peopl!", the company needs to serve to the mean of intelligence of their community. If, for instance, WG pisses off, angers, or confuses even 10% of its community with a patch that 40% of the community "likes" then WG would likely lose money. That's how I see it, I don't know how the numbers work out at all, but what it comes down to is fear of their own community. Their income isn't based on who finally decides to buy the game, instead their income is based on how many people they can hook at the same time with the same product. Tiny changes, small gameplay modifiers, or even the least radical new features that would otherwise be no problem to get into development and released do, as we've seen in the past, take forever to push through WG for approval, because everything is money. And that's why I greatly dislike the F2P business model.
Okay guys lets make our own armor simulator. It will have real ballistics and realistic damage model and whores and blackjack. Dibs on the ideas guy position! [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Also smoothbore guns and multi turreted design and CREWS and you will be able to SHOOT THEIR HEAD OFF or IMPALE IT ONTO YOUR GUN and then shoot it at another tank [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] It will be this rated M for Mature [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Also no Russians or Poles allowed
What if WoT actually simulated the physics of a tanks gun barrel? imagine it tank fencing
Also no Russians or Poles allowed
or czechs [sp]you know who[/sp]
What if WoT actually simulated the physics of a tanks gun barrel? imagine it tank fencing
no more having your barrel inside of a wall while you pop out game. popping out would mean you will probably lose, whoever camps the longest wins. Fun.
It seems to me that it is already whoever camps the longest wins. Or whoever decides to be smart and flank.
Matches like that where you actually don't get annoyed as hell by the community are the best. Anyways, mind if I ask what those 3 songs are called?
First song: Jake Kaufman - Mighty Switch Force OST - 21 coda - Love You Love You Love (Good Morning Onee-san Mix).mp3 Second song: Stardust Speedway Bad Future (Generations Mix).mp3 Third song: SRWA3 OST - ACE ATTACKER Ver.W.mp3 I can give you all 3 of the mp3s over PM if you want. Two of them are kind of hard to find if I recall.
I almost got this god damn API working and I've got 2 things to day 1. Fuck Wargaymen for making it shit out JSON, this crossdomain shit is getting old 2. Fuck JQuery for having such deceptive errors. In other news, I shall try to get a nice little clan comparison thing going with it in case we ever go back to CW.

Honestly the Panther nerf doesn't bother me, the thing has fuck-all for armor in the first place and only bad players will depend on it. [editline]9th February 2013[/editline] Also I love how one round in my Hetzer I literally had 2-3 kills 3 minutes into the round. In that same time, my whole team evaporated around me.
Eh, for a free to play game WOT is pretty damn good in my opinion, I mean practically the only thing that's "pay to win" is the gold ammo, and that's being nerfed at lower tiers so w/e, I doubt WG actually cares about pissing off parts of the community considering they've done things like remove the KV-1's derp gun, which probably caused a huge wave of tears. WG taking forever to do anything is because they're lazy, no one's going to quit the game over minor gameplay changes.
Not true. For one, more people don't play the KV-2 than do. So in general, more than 50% of the serious community was happy and/or unaffected, and the rest could either choose to not care about the tier separation or, for those with the intelligence to understand, slightly agitated over time by the change. Companies can't really be lazy, and at least if they are it's not laziness on that scale but instead what you could call "shitty communication". You're personalizing the company. I doubt many, of those in charge of making decisions over at WG, care for the feelings of the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of random, nameless people that play their game. But economically they're forced to care on a different level. I like WoT. I want to invest in WoT, and play it a lot and see it evolve a lot. But It's F2P. So I can neither invest any singular amount of money into it and the development is slowed by the F2P business model.
